Mixed Experiences with Truthfinder
As someone deeply invested in uncovering the truth, I must say that Truthfinder, much like its name suggests, can be a double-edged sword. While some users have praised its ability to provide accurate and valuable information, others have faced challenges. Issues such as inaccurate data, unexpected charges, and difficulties in canceling subscriptions have left a sour taste for some. It seems that Truthfinder's effectiveness may vary depending on individual experiences. If you choose to tread this path, proceed with caution and manage your expectations accordingly.
Valuable Information + Excellent customer service
Truthfinder provides a lot of valuable information in one comprehensive, integrated report. I've found it very useful for looking up property addresses when I was searching for a home; for looking up a phone number that was associated with identity theft and figuring out who was involved; and for finding out the criminal backgrounds of people who live near me. I typically don't have to call Truthfinder with issues, but for the first time today I had to (for some reason I couldn't get logged in), and was met with a really diligent and patient representative who provided outstanding customer service. Her helpfulness and kindness is the reason for this review. Truthfinder is fortunate to have someone so committed to their work.
Jewelry recovered
Without TRUTHFINDER I know I would not have been able to find this man. I brought my mother's jewelry to a well known jewelry store in my town. Guzzardos Jewelry in Hammond Louisiana. Well 3-4 weeks later I discovered he closed his jewelry store, permanently. No notice, nothing. With TRUTHFINDER I found him in 5 minutes. I went to his home and got all my mother's jewelry back. See my mom passed away in 2016. This jewelry was hers. I was devastated when I couldn't find the jeweler. But I found TRUTHFINDER. Then I found him. And got all my mother's jewelry. I went weeks and weeks trying to get ahold of him or his wife. All fallen on Def ears. No return calls to me nothing. THANK YOU VERY MUCH TRUTHFINDER, I've add a picture of a couple pieces.

Stellar customer service!
I've tried a half dozen of these services and this is the one I always come back to. No site is 100% accurate, but I feel this one is the best I've tried. It helped find info on my cyber stalker who turned out to have dozens of aliases, a long criminal history, and is on the FBI's watchlist for cyberterrorism?lucky me. The woman has a crazy obsession with my deceased husband and decided to make me her pet project. She's still stalking me and ruining my life, but I was able to locate security experts familiar with her "work" and I'm finally getting REAL help. The woman is a paralegal for God's sake. How is this possible?! She's locked me out of the service twice, but I have to have it. Today Meishia helped me get back in. She was kind, empathetic, patient and got me up and running in no time, thank you!
Truthfinder is such a cool website if you are looking up on people
Truthfinder is such a cool website if you are looking up on people, i have been using this website for quite a while now and i must admit, ts very simple and easy to use.My first experience was when i got these phone calls from a scammer multiple times requiring me to tell him some sentitive information. I came on this website, dialed his phone number and the website revealed his identity and everyhing about him.So i had him arrested and jailed. From this super fun website, you can search a reverse Phone Lookup (also called a Reverse Phone Number Lookup) is a phone number search, where you can identify the owner of a telephone number by the digits alone.and find out who that scam caller is. You can also find a person's public receords just by typing in their first and last names. The customer support is always helpful and tolerant.
This service works!
Truthfinder worked for us! We needed to do a back ground check on a person that wanted to move into our new neighborhood. While he was looking at the property, he was sketchy about himself and what he did for a living and what he wanted to be able to build into our new subdivision. This guy is a "conman" with a Federal rap sheet and tends to befriend sex offenders. He is known for his lies and violent temper. He's been in State Prison on and off for 21 years total for beating women and then IRS Problems. He ended up being able to buy property within our new subdivision without any notification from the Real Estate Agent to our HOA. Several Board Members of our HOA will be keeping an eye on him and his friends. Our new subdivision is only 35 homes strong, but is this guy trying to hide? Our local Law Enforcement recommended your site for getting info on persons of question.
Once you have the best, you can ignore the rest!
I've been a licensed private investigator for 42 years. I was the chief investigator with Missing Children of America for 1 1/2 years, Chief Investigator with the Alaska Juvenile Crime Commission for 5 1/2 years, partner to a former U.S. Marshall for 3 years, and I've owned my own agency for 32 years, and also served as a Grand Juror for a year. During this last 1/2 century, I've been exposed to, used, heard about, had referenced and compared just about every product and database used in the business. In my opinion there are only 3 of all of them available, which serves virtually all of my needs. One because of one item the others don't have, one because it's keeps me from having to fly out of the state to access records from the capital of each state, and all the my other needs are met by the final and finest of the 3 which I use, and that is Truthfinder.com. That's why I say, "Once you have the best, you can ignore the rest!"
Great way to find old friends and family
I have really enjoyed getting into truthfinder.com. I had lost contact with a lot of friends and was fun to find them again. Also some classmates that I had graduated with back in 1964. I found a few relatives of my husband's family that he had lost contact with. I didn't care about what car they owned or what their house was worth. That wasn't important to me. If I saw something on their records like bankruptcy, I didn't care and was not going to tell anyone, because I figured they wouldn't anyone to know their private life. I am just glad I have a way of tracking down family and friends.
I live in Wisconsin and have lived here for 48 years. I am 76 years old and have 3 married daughters and 6 grandkids. I am glad I found this website, because I would not have been able to find family and friends without it. My sister, who lives in Colorado, told me about this website. She uses it to find classmates because she is the one who sets up the class reunions.
Unlikely praise
I've used Truthfinder several times, and my last time was unfortunate. I thought I could do a background check on a potential employee because I neglected to read the entire terms of service. I was banned after calling a different representative with the intent of finding a long lost family member, and heeding the words of the first representative who informed me that I could not use their service for that purpose. My initial conversation was notated, and Truthfinder assumed I was side stepping and doing it anyway. Well... I was actually refunded all of my money from past to current usages. You might think I'd be angry, but I made a mistake, and I commend Truthfinder for their security and insuring people are protected and laws are observed. I had no intentions to defy the representative or the rules, but I don't blame them for erring on the side of safety and enforcing the terms of service. I apologize Truthfinder, but you are an excellent company with very respectable protocol and policies. I will still recommend that folks choose you over the rest of they need your type of service. I feel embarrassed yet extremely impressed.
Thank you.
I haven't received such warm & outstanding conversation with anyone other than Jennifer
I haven't received such warm & outstanding conversation with anyone other than Jennifer. Was so comfortable & enjoyable..I could have talked with her all day! What a "delightful, and personable" young lady Jennifer was. Her representation of TRUTH FINDER goes without saying, I'm proud to be accepted as a new member. She is the reason for my choosing your company .. An amazingly enjoyable interaction with me. Thank you & most of all, be safe & well during these challenging times. God Bless...
This site is NOT Free!Do NOT believe their statement, or statements by other sources which may appear reputable. This site is NOT Free at all! Just like all the other sites, you jump through many hoops, wait patiently, then when your report is finally ready you are asked to provide credit card information. Do not waste your time as I did.
I paid $30 out of curiosity to see what would come up on my own report. 10+ errors including easily searchable information such as my date and year of birth. You are also bombarded with upsell options after the $30, including having to pay to download the report, and more upsell attempts as you sort through your results. Not worth the one-time $30 fee, and certainly not worth an ongoing $30 fee. Clearly, I'm not the only one experiencing such disappointing results. Maybe instead of a lengthy response to your unreliable (and not free) product your time would be better invested improving your product.
Please don't waste your money, they are a complete scam. I tried to find an old marriage certificate and divorce papers. The site did not even have my correct birthdate. (and I have a very unique name) It was baffling to me just how wrong the info was. They did not even get correct info right (such as LinkedIn) The other scam is that they charge you another 4 dollars processing fee to access your record once you pay up to view.
Don't waste your money. The report gives you information you can get on your own. They also stated you could cancel anytime. I canceled the next day and they charged me 30 days later for my subscription. A subscription I had canceled. It's a scam!
The prompt attention, professionalism, and follow-through I received from Truthfinder Representative Adrian was above
The prompt attention, professionalism, and follow-through I received from Truthfinder Representative Adrian was above and beyond expectation. My situation was a billing dispute. Adrian was patient and made certain I understood precisely what was taking place and what the resolution would be. In today's business environment it is rare to find such sincere and effective problem resolution. I am truly grateful to Adrian and my opinion of Truthfinder as a company was significantly enhanced as a result.
Very dishonest. They make it seem like youre getting a free report and make you go through the entire process of gathering information and long download times. They keep you on the edge of your seat telling you the search may provide sexual offender information and criminal info. About 20 mins later, they tell you a 5 day trial where you pay $7 now and $29.95/month after for unlimited searches. Then a tab pops up and says you can choose to just get the single report with no commitments. Click that and it says the single report will cost you $29.95. All that waiting. All that anticipation only to use it as BAIT to SWITCH their tactics. GTFOH
Inaccurate information. I don't have any traffic tickets. I won a case against someone that hit my car. There is a divorce case that was never finalized. That is it. WHY DO THEY HAVE A CAUTION BANNER ON MY INFO. This is detrimental to my reputation. I have lived a good, clean life and have this happen is wrong.
I went with this company because I thought it would do the trick.I was trying to find relatives on both sides, my mother just passed way . We wanted to get all the family members to form a family reunion. I am sorry I didnt print everything, since they saved all my searches I would be fine. But no because they blocked me , because I was going to fast . I dont want to wait a year to find the correct members, more members of my family might die before that. They said they would unblock me but no they will not let me sign at all. I hope I get my two. But all that work is lost.Buyer beware
time consuming and the results aren't shown unless you pay a fee. The fee is mentiones at the end of your search so you are wasting your time and money. Don't be scammed
Twice I have used your service to find individuals that are important to me
Twice I have used your service to find individuals that are important to me. I am 82 years old and had lost touch with a girlfriend from the late 1960's, found her, and we have renewed our friendship (across *** miles!). This time I had lost touch with a coworker from the 1990's. It was rumored she had a brain tumor and I had hired her years ago to do particularly important work. I found her in , and we talked. Good thing, because I was able to help her get a good doctor down there (I live in PA) and, hopefully, get surgery done before things get worse.SO, thank you twice. Great system!
They lie and put false reports in the profile. I did this on my own name. Trying to see the accuracy. A bunch of fake reporting and wrong addresses and phone numbers. Don't give them your money. WARNING ?
First the information provided by this company is severely inaccurate. Nearly everything that was visible during the search was data that didn't pertaint o the person at all. Secondly I purchased the unlimited monthly search for $28.05 and was unable to access any information. When ever I clicked on anything such as phone numbers I was asked to pay additional amounts. I cancelled my membership within minutes of opening my account and requested a refund. My contact attempts to their company have been ignored. I would not recommend using this company
! Very little information. Lots of wrong information. For criminal history all it tells you is speeding tickets. Don't tell you about marriages. Financial history is a joke. Social media searches don't tell you anything. Email searches are useless as most of the emails are inaccurate.
On October 19, 2022, I *** searched my deceased sisters name hoping to find her obituary written in ***. I was asked to suggest a timeline from when to when, never did the name "truthfinder" come in to view on my monitor or display screen. After a few more screens, requests to continue prompts, did the truthfinder logo appear. Once my sister's name was placed under scrutiny within Truthfinders search parameters, I was informed that the information was extreme and I was cautioned to be prepared for what I was about to read in the report. The anxiety and torment began to fester and I felt that I was being baited to go down a path of no return. Now I must know what is being charged against my dead sibling. They state that she is being watched by the *** for being a suspect in and/or being affiliated with a Terrorist act or cell! She died 2 years ago and had been on disability for 5 years! I live in the North Eastern part of ***, and can honestly and fearlessly confess that I have contemplated on going to the west coast and personally challenge the research team to validate the slanderous formation put forth by them about my beloved sibling, who cannot be present to defend herself, and prepare for the oncoming lawsuit.. So to you Truthfinder, and from me, a Disabled American Veteran, you will stand accountable for the slander you have spoken, so help me God! My sister is remembered by many people for a life of hardship and torment, I don't not agree that she should be remembered by any for false information that is damaging to her memory, legacy, or to her surviving children who deserve to keep their dignity and carry on. The first ammendment gives everyone the right to the freedom of speech, however, when it has not been, nor can be substantiated, pressidence has been set. I am ashamed as you should be, for wasting my time, and creating a terrible memory.

A gentleman in my office building asked me out- he's about 20 years older than me. And I declined- he's in the mortgage industry and just moved to my area. He gave me his card and asked me out again. I type his name into *** and something came up that he had an arrest- so I signed up for *** and it was really helpful- he had many arrests. This is a really helpful tool. If I feel concerned about a person in the future I will definitely use this service. One thing is I did think I cancelled the service but I got charged and so I called them and they were very helpful and going to straighten out the situation. "
This is a scam. I ran a background check on myself because I was curious to see what anyone running a check on me would see and the results were pathetic. I'd say 80% of the info was wrong, 10% was wildly outdated, 5% was correct but super incomplete and about 5% was accurate. This is one of the biggest wastes of money I've encountered recently. Do yourself a favor and skip their service. It's trash.
Typical dark pattern website. It is mostly just a bait and switch.
You have tarnished my name. There is false information on my report that I was charged with theft two times. I was not even in the state that it was reported in, and have NEVER been chat with theft! As an accountant, this is extremely damaging to my reputation! There should be negative stars for your business.
Total sham. Don't provide reports you paid for, take your money and run for the hills. This review about Truthfinder is *** AWAY Avoid TruthFinder at ALL COSTS when it comes to background checks and Truthfinder.

This is a good service to search out someone and gives enough detail for a conscious decision you may want to make about anyone interested in you or a family member and gives a flagged warning advising perhaps a more thorough search which will cost a little more.My only wish would be that they offered a plan where one could pay for that particular search without joining a monthly plan since I do not need to search on a regular basis. $2 or $3 per search would be acceptable for my use.The plan was detailed enough w/o going into more in-depth research. *** was very courteous and professional with my cancellation. The program was easy to use.
I contacted customer service at Truthfinder to cancel my membership
I contacted customer service at Truthfinder to cancel my membership. The young man that helped me was so polite and understanding. He did offer a special they had going but when I said no he didn't keep pushing . . . which I appreciated very much. I had not used the service except in the first when I tried to find an old friend. That had been 2-3 months previously. At the end of our talk, this young man said he would actually refund 2 of those months to my card. He didn't have to do that, as I had already said that we could just split the difference and cancel. But he was so nice to refund the 2 months to me. I give this guy a 5-star in customer service!

Folks, I've used TruthFinder several times and each time was worth every penny spent The first time helped me to decide whether to buy a particular property in a certain location. I ended up not buying there due to the criminal element in that area with regards to children safety. Then recently, I checked to see how I was in the publics' eyes and found out that one of my properties was misrepresented as being sold to someone else. It was a clerical typo with the County Tax Assessment Dept. and that information was quickly corrected before I had an ownership and tax dispute! TruthFinder is more than just looking up an individual's background. It can help you with serious life affecting issues!... Two thumbs up ? for TruthFinder. ***.

My beloved ex-husband passed away a few years ago, and I recalled that he was briefly married to another woman after our divorce. I used Truthfinder to locate her to let her know. Sounds silly, I know, but I would have wanted to know if it had been the other way around. She may already be aware, Ill know soon enough. Our daughter (our only child) allows me to keep his ashes. He always maintained that he wished to be buried in the same grave with me, or else stuffed and placed in the living room to scare aware potential suitors. Maybe he will get his wish - I never remarried and we divorced in ***! (Does that make me the ultimate stalker?) He would have loved it if he knew. Thanks Truthfinder for making it less difficult to find her after all these years.

I needed to get some information and I found what I needed so the reason I cancelled was I really wouldn't be needing the service anymore. I was a little apprehensive when I called because I didn't know if I would be pressured to continue to keep my membership. The fine lady that took my call was very professional and there was no pressure to have me keep my membership which was very refreshing to me. On your website you spelled out completely what I needed to do to cancel my membership with you and you kept your word on what you said. I was 100% completely satisfied with your service as I got the information I needed and was able to cancel hassle free. If I ever need your service again you will be the first one I will contact. Thank you!
I subscribe to truthfinder just to check on a possible renter
I subscribe to truthfinder just to check on a possible renter. It was a trial subscription and pretty sure that I cancelled within days of starting the trial but evidently the cancellation didn't go through). Then I was auto-billed the next month. I then logged into my truthfinder account to cancel again, called truthfinder, and left a message that my subscription should have been cancelled previously and that I shouldn't have been auto-billed. A truthfinder rep called me back the next day and refunded the amount that I was auto-billed. I was worried that I they would never refund me that amount or even that they would continue to *** me, as happens with a lot of companies where you sign up for a trial, cancel, but keep getting charged. Thanks truthfinder for not doing that. *** J
I would highly recommend truthfinder to anyone because of the professional employee with whom I spoke today
I would highly recommend truthfinder to anyone because of the professional employee with whom I spoke today. The information I wanted was very easy to obtain and it provided adequate information. I forgot the name of the employee who serviced me, but he couldn’t have been more accommodating! This was the first time I had ever used a system like this, and I guess I didn’t sign in correctly. He was able to refund a recent payment because I told him it was not something I planned to use in the future. He was VERY polite, patient, proficient, and polite. He spoke clearly so I never had to ask him to repeat information as I often have to do with some business employees. It was one of the most pleasant and accommodating experiences I have ever had! A great employee! Thank you so much! ?

I believe someone removed my other opt-out listings promptly as requested, but I now see I'm still listed under a different variation of my name. This discovery came after trying to remove myself from another website, which redirected me back to TruthFinder. Upon searching TruthFinder, I found one last listing for myself. No link was provided to me. It's perplexing how they can publish personal information without consent. This could be dangerous, for instance, for a young woman escaping an abusive situation or seniors unaware of their online presence. Regardless of public records, compiling and displaying information for paid memberships without consent is unethical, and the accuracy of this information is often questionable. I've read reviews indicating that people are scammed into memberships that are difficult to cancel and offer minimal value. It's astonishing that they don't charge for opt-out requests. I hope for a massive lawsuit against these sites for indiscriminately sharing personal information. It's concerning to think about one's own family being affected by such practices. I understand that employees may agree with these sentiments but are bound by the need for income. I urge the immediate removal of my last listing, which may positively influence my review. Although I don't blame the employees, I do hope for the eventual shutdown of such exploitative websites and accountability for their owners. Please ensure my complete removal from the site.
It's a pity we cannot give a ZERO-star rating
I got tired of the dramatic build-up as I waited through pages and pages while the site "was searching records." Reflecting on this, that is a lie in and of itself. The information they provide, which is inaccurate anyway, can be found in a few seconds. What is the worst part is they are not upfront with their charges. You'll have invested at least 20 minutes of your time before they ask you for your credit card information, and tell you the price is $28 for a monthly subscription.
In the meantime, I bet they are collecting information about YOU and selling it somewhere. Read the reviews by customers who actually subscribed and then are given the runaround by customer service reps. This company needs to be run into the ground by a grassroots spreading of the truth about THEM, that their company is a hoax, a waste of people's time, a grab for people's money, and possibly collecting and selling information about its customers.
By the way, most of the sites that pop up offering reviews on them are clearly marked as SPONSORED sites. In other words, they invest part of their earnings into buying fake reviews. I'm a busy person but I took these fifteen minutes to contribute to the cause - may the TRUTH win. They stole my time, now this is the way I'm making them pay for it. I hope they will go bankrupt and their admin will find more worthy ways to earn a living.
UPDATE:@Chris E.: I understand that you run a business with a goal to be profitable. The problem is the WAY you are seeking your profits. We can run your Truthfinder check on anybody we know well (such as ourself) and can affirm that the information given has some accurate data and some inaccurate data. It's more or less what you can find that on a dozen other websites.
My objection is that you should not make people actively interact with the site for 15-20 minutes before getting to that information, and only then talking price. After 20 minutes, I feel I have already "invested" enough and I might as well depart with whatever money you want, not to lose the investment I made of my time. Time is our most valuable asset in life. Pricing is an upfront discourse with honest companies. Your company uses a "sneaky" technique.
I beg your pardon if I am getting anything wrong now - if so, the reason is that SiteJabber complimented me for this review so I came back to re-read it months later. I may have forgotten details.
Btw, it is really rare that I leave a negative review. I usually just clam up when I see mistakes, we all make them. I prefer giving good reviews. There is so much good in this world, and it is nice to point it out. Best wishes that TruthFinder finds its way to providing information as accurately as possible, as timely as possible, and with a pricing scheme that is honest and upfront.
P.S. I am a public high school teacher in California. Besides teaching my credential subject, I'm helping your kids find their talents and strengths, and helping them learn to communicate in a way that leads to win-win situations.
Fraudulent Claims! Do NOT use!
Gonna add my 1 star to all the others to make this unanimous! Do NOT use this service! Wish I had checked out their reviews before using them. Much of their info is "happenstance" (e.g. This person has same last name) and completely irrelevant. Then they provide you with "answers" like, "no record that this person ever lived at this address," and it's the place where the person lived for most of their life. Or "criminal record found," and they produce something on someone who has the same last name (like Smith or Jones) and the person bears NO relation to the person you are looking up. How do I know this? I checked it out with my own family and myself. Suffice to say, the software they use is either shockingly outdated, and seems to include just enough inaccuracies or implied relations to people who aren't even remotely connected, to make you think you should investigate further (i. E. pay for the "confidential" report). Here's my guess about how they suck people in: their software identifies someone with the same last name as you (or person you're looking up), who has ever lived in the same state (very high likelihood you''ll find someone with a criminal record who has same last name if you have the most remotely common last name) and has a criminal record. Then their computer algorithms repeatedly present this person's name, even though each step during the "inquiry" process, you mark this person as NOT related. So when the results are presented, the "truth" finders database tells you, "there are no criminal records," even though the prompts keep telling you they've found criminal records. Meanwhile, despite multiple efforts to expunge the name of the non-related person they keep including in the list of family members (impossible age and location, not to mention we have all the names and records of family members born in this country from that side of our family). But "Truth"finder's results still lists this one person who has the same (common) last name. All this despite multiple times saying "this is NOT a family member." So guessing they keep including this person because they DO have a criminal record, and this prompts searchers to keep looking and paying for information about loved ones and family members who have died suddenly, without warning.
But here's the real kicker. I've held a state professional license for 35 years (all in the same state where all my other identifying data is listed) and anyone who has a 5th or 6th grade education (or less) who knows how to look something up on the internet, could pull up this info. Yet "Truth" finders.com says, "this person has never applied for a professional license! Go figure. All's I can say is, "don't waste your time and money with this organization and their fraudulent service.
I'll give them credit for one thing and one thing only: When I confronted one of their supervisors with my experience with their database, its inaccuracies and omissions, and the fact that they never posted a fee in their interface with PayPal, he quickly refunded my money. I surely hope PayPal is not in on this scam, though I intend to contact them separately to about this. Now I'm also wondering how to convince Google to cease advertising this business since that only makes them look as though they're rubber stamping fraudulent business activities -- especially given the unanimous 1 star ratings!

So this is actually happened very many times but I didn't notice it was the same company until last couple years. But when someone passes away and I've lost a lot of close people I search for what's online about their deaths Like obituary or death notices . And I'm not very great with the internet so I always accidentally click on truthfinder because I think it's going to help me find what the information about my recently deceased and this just happened a few weeks ago and this is what's upsetting me now is every day even when I clear the alerts off my phone every time I open my phone the bar that drops down to show you if you've had messages or whatever alerts constantly is reminding me of my close friend that just died. There is always at least one thing every time I open my phone telling me not to forget to research *** or look into *** or whatever blah blah blah it's a constant reminder every time I look at my phone that I just lost someone very close to me. I paid $28 for BOGUS information! I was doing a background check on someone I already know, to test the site. It didnt include ANY up to date, or relevant information. I emailed about a refund immediately after getting the report back and seeing the severe lack of information, but they took nearly TWO weeks to email me back, AFTER I started a dispute with my bank, and sent a condescending and snide reply that did not address anything about a refund, and simply only said from personal experience, I know how difficult charge back disputes can be so I wish you luck. That is so disgusting and rude from a business. I want my money back ASAP and I want to warn others against this disgusting and shady business
I have been receiving spam calls for the last 6 months. I looked on the internet to see if my information has been exposed to the public and apparently it has. Trughfinder.com has given my information to the public. My address, phone number, birthday, and directions to my home This is creating a dangerous environment for me and I would like for them to take my information down from public view. Thank you
I paid for the $1, 5 day trial of truthfinder background check. On the trial it says you will be charged after the 5th day for a months subscription. I cancelled prior to the trial period ending, and received an email stating that I would receive a refund of $1 for the trial within 72 hours (wasnt expecting which was a nice surprise), but then when I looked at my bank account following the cancelation, I immediately had a pending charge for $32.91 from truthfinder! I reached out to *** via their website, as well as email, and never received a response. I never received the $1 refund and instead the $32.91 was officially posted on my account 4 days later. This is such crap! The website didnt even have the criminal report that I know exists, and on top of that I was charged after I cancelled a subscription during their trial period and theyre ignoring my emails.
This website is unethical and crosses many moral ideals. First and foremost our privacy is protected by the constitution and for tis website to be able to go against such ideals and principals by gathering personnel information for god knows what purpose and for who. This site claims to have full reports on whoever you want information on. This can be used for countless negative uses. This site then charges the customers for this personal information that can negatively affect the anyone's life. Its claims are not backed by any credible sources in any way shape or form. This site has the potential to ruin ones life and ultimately future with no backed evidence, no supporting claims, and ultimately just to make a profit unethically.
I was trying to find my friend who passed mother. She died suddenly and no one had access to her phone. I am retired law enforcement and you can *** me and get my photo my whole life. And I cant find if this 86 year old woman is alive or dead with out paying yet it says free public death records. So I hope when she hears her daughter died and missed everything. She dont do the same. Shame.
Improperly put my personal information on the dark web
I received information from Norton identity theft, and with Experian, and it said I had breach of information on the dark web from truthfinder.com that was found,
1/25/2023 and 2/15/2023
I notified truthfinder.com talk to two people, customer service; plus a supervisor; she did not do anything to resolve this situation.
Only said she'll pass it to the resolution team they will call you I have not received a phone call at all.
"They had no right to do that to make money putting my information on the dark web I want it taken off immediately".
Desired outcome: I want all my information off the dark web immediately or I will hire a attorney.

Lie!
As I was searching for a report of a person, it stated that the person I was looking for was on the government watchlist. I went ahead and paid for the monthly service and nothing showed up. The website lied in order for me to pay their monthly service to supposedly look the full report of the person who "was on the government watchlist"! Very disappointed!
Tracking hit my page google won’t let me shut
I was doing great then google opened up on my page I cannot close it help please I keep get tracking hits odd I HATE GOOGLE!
Seems as you hit looking up information bam tracking operations hit helpful if my page could be fixed I Wharton’s given a much better star but first nite ugh this was fast and hard hit should have tracking information and help thanks
Out dated information not worth it!
I have tried to cancel their premium service as soon as I found out their information is mostly out dated and not every information is on there! I have tried numerous times to cancel my account online but it seems it’s not letting me as it keeps saying “loading” and it has been passed 10 minutes! I haven’t close, refreshed or press back button as instructed.
Fraud Company! Don’t get scammed!
This is a fraud company. They collected via Apple Services for a subscription and never received the report access. I emailed twice, no response, and call once and after 45 mins on hold the customer service rep REFUSED to look into the issue. I’m currently disputing the charge thru Apple but I hope they get removed for the Apple Store so no one else gets scammed
Just a vehicle to sell their services
Does not do any background checks, only basic searches you can do yourself by searching the persons name online. App is basically an ad to sell their services and reports. They also ask you early in the search to rate their app before going on so I think that is where all the 5 star ratings are coming from. You rate the app before you even realize that it does nothing..
This update is the worst thing that’s happened
I can’t believe how terrible this updated version is! It completely has all birthdates incorrect and programmed to only show the first of the month for each person. Please please please fix this error immediately. The app was working PERFECTLY fine before this last update. Absolutely a shame for whoever tried to upgrade it. We will gladly take the old version back over this one. Thank you and have a wonderful blessed day!
This is not accurate
There is a name on my profile that I have no idea who this person is and she has my profile picture. Just who is this person? And I’m not spending the kind of money you want me to spend to try and correct it. Who do I contact? I’m afraid this may be an imposter using my profile picture under a simulator name . I need help in correcting this or investigating it.
HELLO? HELP!
Also there are a lot of things not listed or incorrect.
Such a WASTE! Don’t do it!
I signed up out of curiosity, and a search on myself said 3+ criminal records (I’ve never had more than a traffic ticket for speeding 8 years ago which was dismissed), a phone number 13 years old, “associates” I’ve never heard of, and an address from when I was a child. Obviously I didn’t pay for the monthly subscription after reading the other reviews, every single thing they had about me besides my birthdate was completely outdated and inaccurate.
COMPANY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY
I tried several times to cancel my subscription online and over the phone without success. I tried this for about a month... I finally spoke to someone who acted like it was the easiest thing to do after being on hold for quite sometime and they said it was cancelled. And what do you know, a week later I’m still charged. This subscription is expensive and some of the information is incorrect. App functionality is subpar. Take my advice and stay clear.
Inaccurate
I searched myself and most of the information was false. They had me listed at addresses I’ve ever heard of. They have an evictions listed during times I actually was a resident at an legit apartment complex. I searched self 3 times and the second time there was different information from the first time. When I searched the third time it changed back to the original. I don’t fully trust this app. I wouldn’t rely on it for an accurate background check.
They refunded me
Used the app for a day to see what would happen with friends. Nothing came up on 17 different people, but they never took my payment because of my dissatisfaction. I search my name and I had a criminal record when I was a toddler and my pictures come at my father? Searched my father and his pictures aren’t even him? I hope the government can regulate apps like this to work better but in the long run, this is the only app that refunded me for my inconvenience. That’s why 2 stars. Thank you for your time and patience.
One of the worst I’ve ever seen
Completely in accurate for one you had information on there that belong to someone else idk what you guys are doing over there but you obviously don’t know what your doing the only thing you really got right is some of the contact information even that was out of whack but the location and the timeline on there was completely false I will not come buy your services ever again complete waste of money especially since I gave you every detail about the person I was searching for and you still sent the wrong information
Not accurate at all
This is so inaccurate that it even says I have a license. I was a cosmetologist when I went to school for four months and quit because I was pregnant and it says it’s still active. The license and my birthdate is wrong places I lived in the city is wrong everything is wrong and then I look up my friend and it’s just a father they’re showing not the son.. they don’t even show the sun so some people you can put in there and they don’t even find any results for them… I just did one month and I’m canceling the same day I bought it..
Privacy Concerns with Truthfinder.com: A Review
I recently tried out Truthfinder.com and I have to say, I was a bit skeptical at first. They ask for your name and email address right off the bat, which made me a little uneasy. However, I decided to give it a shot and see what kind of results I could get.
Before I could even see any results, I was prompted to read their terms of use and privacy policy. I have to admit, the terms of use were a bit lengthy and difficult to read. I ended up using a tool online to help me parse through it and search for any red flags.
What I found was a bit concerning. Truthfinder collects and sells your personal information, including your name, address, email address, and data about transactions conducted on their site. They even share your email address with their mailing partner for the purpose of sending third-party promotional emails.
While they do use third-party service providers for hosting, billing, fulfillment, and data storage and security, they do not share payment information except with service providers and only for order fulfillment. However, if you enter a co-sponsored contest or sweepstakes, any information collected will be shared with the co-sponsor in accordance with their privacy policy.
Overall, I would say that Truthfinder.com is a useful tool for finding information about people, but you should be aware of the potential privacy concerns before providing any personal information. Make sure to read their terms of use and privacy policy carefully before proceeding.
Truthfinder.com Review: Inaccurate Reports Ruined My Life, Beware!
I've been using Truthfinder.com, along with other similar services, for years now. Recently, I decided to sign up for a monthly subscription to Truthfinder and pulled a few reports on my friends and family, as well as myself. What I found shocked me to my core. According to their report, I have 81 events in my timeline, and over 60 of them are duplicates, making it seem like I have been arrested and charged with various crimes over 60 times. This is simply not true.
I tried to contact their customer service center, but the representative I spoke to couldn't help me and told me to email them instead. So, I did just that. However, the only response I received was an automated one, asking me to fill out a survey. I have yet to receive any further response from them, and this report is ruining my life. In just a month and a half, I have lost my job, my house, and had to move out of town because people thought I was some kind of monster.
I have explained all of this to Truthfinder, but they have not responded. I have even contacted the Better Business Bureau, and I am writing this review to warn others. I don't know where they get their information, but it seems like anyone can call in and tell them a bunch of lies, and they will just post it on their website. Or, maybe it's the people putting the information on the site themselves, and they need to be fired.
I have never seen a report like mine before. Even Charles Manson's report is smaller than mine. It's clear that Truthfinder needs to do a better job of verifying the information they post on their site. Until they do, I would advise anyone considering using their services to think twice.
