Tutor.com Don't Waste Your Time

I took at least four separate 'exams' on Business, Marketing, Management, and English. Each of them scoring below 55% when I know each subject well. And I know I answered most of the "quiz" questions correctly. To the simple question, Who had a little lamb? The answer is the obvious 'Mary', but it would STILL score you wrong. Just ridiculous.

Tutor.com Low standards and petty bureaucrats running things

I worked there for more than a year. I was fine until they changed mentors and the new one had no idea how to teach at anything above a kindergarten level, but she was criticizing my college level sessions. My ratings among students were sky high, I had great rapport and I know my stuff. They didn't care. The nitpicking never stopped. I really think it must be run by a bunch of daycare workers making money on the side.

Tutor.com Online Tutoring with Tutor.com: A Frustrating Nightmare

I used to teach and tutor in person, but after a long career in environmental science, I thought I could help people through online tutoring with Tutor.com. It took me months to get "onboard" and finally, all the paperwork was done, and I was supposed to start tutoring. However, completely online tutoring is a nightmare. The expectations are high, but you rarely ever talk directly with bosses or students. It's guesswork figuring out what students need, and it can be frustrating at times. I feel sorry for them having to rely on this type of service. Maybe it'll work for other people, but it didn't work for me. Good luck.

Tutor.com Tutor.com Review: A Scam and a Waste of Time and Money

So, I decided to give Tutor.com a try and I have to say, at first, everything seemed pretty legit. I paid the allocation fee upfront and was able to connect with a student right away. However, after a while, I started to notice some changes in the system behavior. Suddenly, there was a time limit and it became increasingly difficult to find someone to tutor.

I tried to contact the system, but it seemed like a black box. No matter what I did, I couldn't get a response. It was frustrating and made me feel like I had been scammed. It was like once they had collected their dues, they became a different company altogether.

I even tried to get my money back, but still no response. It was like they didn't care about their customers at all. Overall, I would not recommend Tutor.com to anyone. It's a scam and a waste of time and money.

Tutor.com Tutor.com: A Waste of Time and Money - My Disappointing Experience

I'm really disappointed with Tutor.com. I don't think it's worth the money at all. I mean, seriously, are they even trying? It seems like they're just hiring people to waste your time. The tutors are so slow and they don't even seem to know what they're doing. I had a tutor who spent 50 minutes explaining something that I already knew, and then at the end of the session, he told me he couldn't help me with my problem. What a waste of time!

I tried multiple tutors, and they all seemed to be the same. They just kept talking and talking, but they never really helped me with my problem. I had to keep redirecting them to my question, but they just kept going off on tangents. It's so frustrating!

I even have transcripts from five different tutors to prove it. None of them were able to solve my problem, and I wasted so much time on each session. It's not like my problem was even that difficult. It was just an intro to programming question.

Honestly, I'm going to complain to my school about this. They shouldn't be using my money to pay for this kind of crap. I would not recommend Tutor.com to anyone. It's just a waste of time and money.

Tutor.com Tutor.com Review: Terrible Experience with Incompetent Tutors and Scamming Practices

This site is not good, let me tell you. I could talk about it for days, but I'll just give you a few examples of why it's so bad:

1) The tutors kept passing me up because they thought my math was too hard. I mean, come on, it's just first year university statistics. I thought these tutors were supposed to be experts!

2) I waited two whole weeks to book an appointment with the highest rated math tutor. And when I finally got to talk to him, he literally typed that he "wasn't feeling it today" after wasting 11 dollars of my tutor time just staring at my question. Then he just logged off! What a waste of time and money.

3) I cancelled my subscription because it was just garbage. But guess what? They kept charging me for two whole months after I cancelled! What a scam.

4) When I demanded my money back, they said it was a computer glitch and apologized. But then they only gave me back less than what they stole from me! Do they think I'm stupid or something? I know exactly how much money I had and how much they took.

Overall, my experience with Tutor.com was just terrible. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Tutor.com Unfair Treatment and Low Pay: My Experience as a Tutor.com Contractor

I gotta say, I was a tutor for Tutor.com from 2014 to 2020 and it was all good until the last year. That's when the new bosses came in and started acting all rude and giving me criticism that made no sense. They call us independent contractors, but they treat us like we're full-time employees. And let me tell you, the oversight is no joke. It's like they're watching your every move.

One time, they even suggested that I make little guides for the students to use during our tutoring sessions. And get this, they wanted me to do it in my "spare time" with no extra pay. Like, what the heck? And don't even get me started on the pay. It's barely at minimum wage level. And as an independent contractor, I should be able to negotiate my own fee, right? But no, they wouldn't even consider it.

So, let me give you the bottom line: do NOT work for Tutor.com. I'm so glad I got out of there when I did. It's just not worth the hassle and the disrespect.

Tutor.com Disappointing Experience with Tutor.com: Tutors Unable to Help and Lack of Customer Support

So, I recently had a pretty bad experience with tutor.com. I reached out to them twice via email, but unfortunately didn't receive any response. I was really hoping to get some help with my studies, but things just didn't seem to be going my way.

I ended up working with two different tutors, but neither of them were able to help me out. The first one actually told me that they didn't know how to do what I needed help with, which was pretty frustrating. The second tutor had to leave after just two minutes, which was a major bummer.

I decided to give it another shot and ended up with the same tutor as before. At first, he said he didn't know how to help me, but then suddenly changed his mind and said he did. Unfortunately, he ended up teaching me all over the place and we only had eight minutes left. It was a pretty disappointing experience overall.

One thing I do want to warn others about is that after the trial, you need to go to your settings and subscription and click cancel monthly plan. If you don't, they'll bill you $80, which is definitely not worth it in my opinion.

I've actually tried using tutor.com a few times now with different credit cards, but unfortunately haven't had much luck. The first couple of times, I didn't complain too much because the tutoring wasn't terrible, but after this most recent experience, I've had enough.

Overall, I just couldn't seem to find a tutor who was able to help me out. It's definitely been a frustrating experience, and I wouldn't recommend it to others.

Tutor.com Tutor.com's Unfair Hiring Criteria: Rejected for Not Being a US Citizen

Hey guys, I just wanted to share my experience with Tutor.com. Let me tell you, I was pretty annoyed with the way their system works. I applied for a job with them and they rejected my application just because I'm not a US citizen. I mean, come on, if that's your main criteria, why isn't it the first thing you check on the website?

They asked me to take a 2-hour test answering 50 questions and then rejected me based on my location. Seriously, what's up with that? If they only want US or Canada residents, why even give me the option to select another country in the form? I meet all their criteria except for my location, and that's just not fair.

I really hope they can fix this issue because it's giving them a bad name and bad reviews. I mean, I'm sure there are plenty of qualified tutors out there who aren't US citizens. So, Tutor.com, if you're listening, please consider changing your system to be more inclusive.

Thanks for reading, guys!

Tutor.com Captivating and Heartfelt: A Review of The Fault in Our Stars

What a joke! Tutor.com makes up stories to reject their applicants. I was rejected for lack of content knowledge and I have not even completed a mock session! I had issues with my microphone and got it fixed, in which, I notified them about it and then scheduled another mock session. The next day, which was a couple days prior to my newly scheduled mock session, they send me an email telling me I am rejected due to lack of content knowledge. How is a faulty mic related to lack of content knowledge? What a complete waste of time. I am an Author of 9 published books and a senior student in a bachelors of Arts in English academic program. I lack no knowledge and to Tutor.com, stop telling lies and tell the real reason why you are rejecting applicants, which is due to you not being able to afford to hire tutors!

Tutor.com Disappointing Experience with Tutor.com: Account Closed Without Warning

So, I decided to give Tutor.com a try and set up an account. I was excited to schedule a mock session to see how it worked. However, when I tried to log in to prepare for the session, I couldn't get in. I double-checked my user ID and password to make sure the problem wasn't on my end. I tried to log in throughout the day, but I still couldn't get in. Unfortunately, there was no online help available, so I had to call.

The person on the phone was polite, but they didn't know why my user name and password were no longer valid. They took my contact information and told me that the Tech Desk would investigate. I was hopeful that the issue would be resolved soon.

The next day, I received an email from Tutor.com. Unfortunately, they informed me that they had all the applicants they needed for my subject area, so they closed my account. I was disappointed that I couldn't even check for other possible subject areas because my account was closed. I felt like I had wasted too much time.

I think there has to be a better way to handle an excess of applicants. Perhaps they could advise applicants by email but leave their accounts open for other subject areas? It would be a shame for someone to miss out on the opportunity to use Tutor.com just because they applied for a subject area that was already full.

Overall, my experience with Tutor.com was frustrating. I would rate them a zero if it were possible. However, I do appreciate the polite customer service representative who tried to help me. I hope that Tutor.com can improve their system to prevent this kind of situation from happening in the future.

Tutor.com Review of Tutor.com: Frustrating Technology Team and Lack of Value for Expertise

Tutor.com is a website that offers tutoring services to students in various subjects. However, the company's technology team is not the best to work with. It can be frustrating to try to get help from them when you encounter issues on the website. It's almost like they don't know what they're doing, and you might as well just Google how to solve your problem. Google seems to have a better guess at solving issues in their portal than the tech team.

Another issue with Tutor.com is that they don't value your expertise in the areas you tutor in. For example, they have a career advice session, and if you have worked in HR for 10 years, they only want you to give resume advice they agree with, despite actual, real, industry knowledge. It's frustrating because you know what you're talking about, but they don't seem to care.

Tutor.com also doesn't seem to grow with the markets or subjects in these changing areas. They don't seem to keep up with the latest trends or changes in the industry. It's like they're stuck in the past and don't want to move forward.

The stats they use to report on acceptance rate, ratings, etc are also not consistent. It's hard to know where you stand with them because the numbers seem to change all the time. It's frustrating because you want to know how you're doing, but you can't rely on the numbers they give you.

Overall, Tutor.com is not a great working experience. There's little to no support, and the requirements can be ridiculous at times. However, it's still an easy way to make a little extra money each week doing what you're good at (if they don't hinder you).
