United States Moving Services and Pronto Moving & Storage review: We should be refunded any amount above the original quote.

We hired United States Moving Services to move our parents from Montana to Colorado. We gave them pickup and delivery addresses. We were given a quote, but told this quote is high and will more than likely come in less. We paid $6,500 to get started. Then we were told we needed to pay another $2,000. We paid the additional. So now we are into it $8,500. The United States Moving Services contracted the job out to Pronto Moving & Storage. When they showed in in MT to pick up the household goods the price had gone up to $24,500! Pronto told us that it would go back to Chicago before being delivered, unless we wanted to pay an additional $2,400. It is now supposed to be delivered tomorrow but now they say they cannot deliver it to the address without a shuttle to which they say is an additional $3,600 for the shuttle! These two companies have no business being in business. They are terrible to work with as they could not give us a delivery date until the day before it was to be delivered and then want additional money. They are really in the business of ripping people off.
