I was scammed and sold a warranty from Living spaces. The employee made us feel confident that if anything happened to our sofa that it would be covered u set the “Care Free plan” Was told this to include accidental damage, spills, tears…
My sofa started to lean inward and shows defective structure as well as discoloration in the leather. This sofa and love seat set cost us $7000 and it’s a two year old couch. You unfortunately can’t speak to anyone at Living spaces or Uniters and have to navigate through an online app.
I submitted photos and documentation from purchase and delivery of couch and immediately got a denial from carefree. It took me reaching out to BBB for someone to come to my home. The technician spent five minutes, didn’t speak to me, and refused to sit on the couch. He left saying someone would contact me. Two days later I got a denial on the app.
I contacted living spaces and finally got in touch with a Melisa who could not even call me. The best was several emails that went nowhere. I sent certified mail to Living Spaces CEO, sent a letter to the Federal Trade commission, Bureau of household goods, Consumer protection division, as well as the Attorney Generals office. I have now made an appointment for small claims in Bellflower court and I will take this as far as possible to make sure companies are following fair practices and not being deceptive to consumers selling scam warranties.
The internet is full of complaints against this deceptive company and their scam to consumers.
Claimed loss: Total price of purchase $7000 sofa and love seat set as well as the warranty price
Desired outcome: I want a replaced sofa that matches loveseat or a full refund.
