I just got a call that "MY application for a grant was approved." I don't recall making the application. He wouldn't tell me what it was for and asked for the payment of $3.87. I asked him to send mail first .and, he said they needed to register me and give me a pin. IS THIS A SCAM?
I keep getting calls from an unknown number from a guy that says hes from "US financial resources" and tells me I have a grant and wants 3.87 to process the application. It is weird because I have been looking for a grant for school and then I get these calls. But when you google them you see all these people talking about theyre scams and dont answer the phone. Is this scam and has anyone else got any weird phone calls from "US Governement Grants" or "US Financial Resources" ?
Received a call today, 06/12/2019 from a man claiming to be from US Financial, telephone #[protected] with information on my application for a grant was approved in the amount of $5000. He identified himself as Chris Cater, his id# is 15796 and that he was on a recorded line. In order for me to claim this "grant", I would need to provide a card with Mastercard or Visa logo on it. I told him that I was not going to purchase anything and he stated that I had to spend nothing. I again informed him that I was not going to purchase any kind of card, that this was a SCAM and hung up on the man. I have already been scammed earlier this year from an individual stating he worked for Bill and Melinda Gates (Microsoft Founder and CEO) which I reported to the FBI! This is a SCAM. Just wanted to share to possibly prevent someone else from becoming a victim.
