Lost all my down payment & my building
Intimidated by the boss' son who said "shut up and listen, this is how it's going to go down if you don't stop complaining". So If I didn't accept the building as they wanted to give It to me, without windows and at the scheduled time they were supposed to make it and deliver it, they would sue me for the building, the money I had already paid, the other half of the building cost, and "for everything you have. We are a multimillion $ company, and we have lots of lawyers ready to sue you, cause you signed a contract and you don't have a leg to stand on. ".
Then there's a tiny clause at the bottom of their contract that says if you want to sue them, you have to come to Florida and file there.
At that point I was afraid to stop production because didn't want to lose my $, so sent them another installment, however when I wasn't able to receive the building when they ordered, I lost the building and all my down payment.
DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS with this company. I wish I'd never gone into their website.
This building was going to be our sanctuary! We are a small church!
Unwanted phone calls
Had inquired about some info on their buildings once we realized that was not what we were looking for we told them no thank you that we were going to continue looking elsewhere, well they can't take no for an answer, they will not stop calling us everyday from 3 different states 3 different people 3 different numbers, they call and hang up on us we call them asking and telling them to stop to leave us alone they say we don't know what we are talking about, these people this company is insane, we just want them to leave our family alone
The guy saying that this is a great company is one of the Rack family or friends ! don't believe this ### they are total Crooks and will take your money! they were hit with a Class action Suit for a million plus $$$$$$ and I was lucky to get back 1109.00 out of 1500.00 they Stole from me ! The Rack family owns and runs these fake Scummy Businesses with 60 different Names! Do NOT even talk to these POS unless you want to have your $$$$$ taken with no return! Run from them as fast as you can! deceitful Scammers that pray on the weak, poor, old people with limited incomes, churches ect. They are Thugs that live in 10 million dollar houses in Florida from RIPPING PEOPLE OFF! one day KARMA will make them Pay for there Evil Ways!
Great company the reviews are not accurate if you listen to the people on the phone they are very detailed and very helpful. I don't understand how people get mad when they fill out the forms because you have to know that someone will call you. If you aren't ready to buy than don't fill out the contact me form that simple. My building is perfect it's exactly how I want it
IMPORTANT, I am a metal building GC Licensed in GA. I want the public to be warned when buying from shell metal building companies that promise and don't deliver. Just tried to help a purchaser who purchased a building from US Metal Buildings in FL. General Steel, US Metal Buildings, Future Steel are not pre engineered metal building manufacturers. Important, Only buy from national known companies like American Building Company, Nucor, NCI Building Systems, Metallic, Star, Ceico, Varco Pruden, Butler etc. Also, visit the MBMA (metal building manufacturer associations) website and make sure the company you are dealing with is a MBMA member and certified. If they are not on the list leave them alone. The shell companies furnish NO stamped engineered plans for permits even though they X out for permit. These are only computer generated drawings that are worthless for permitting. Without the professional engineers stamp on the plans they are nothing but trash. They have a building full of lawyers who work to take your money. You have been warned. D. Hodges Metal Building GC
Want refund
I recently signed a contract with this company for a garage. I was told I was getting a building that cost 14, 000.00 for the low price of 5, 200.00. This is without a door or windows and without installation. Being a women that knows nothing about this stuff I took their word a mistake I will never make again. I found another company that can give me a bigger garage with windows and 2 doors foe 5, 500. I was shocked I called the us metal company asking for May refund of 1, 346.00 and was mainly told too bad it's in the contract that you forfeit that money if you cancel. 1, 300 dollars might not be a lot to some people but when you have one income it's like 10, 000 dollars. I was recently in an accident and will be out of work for some time. I did save for 3 years to get this building this will be a hardship on me and my children, I don't understand how this company can get away with false statements and have no repercussions . I only want my refund which I believe is due me. The person I spoke to Jim was very rude and basically said to bad for you! Sincerely Renee Alexander 117 County Home Rd Thompson, ct 06277. US BUILDINGS RIPPED ME OFF FOR $7500 & THIS IS HOW THEY DO BUSINESS
A salesman from US Buildings (USB) contacted me late Mon 12-26-11 following an inquiry I placed on Buyer zone. He, Andrew "Jack" Marcus, told me he had pre-engineered clearance bldgs he could sell way below the value due to a dealer out of business. He said USB was shipping them out the next morning for auction, & it would cost USB $14500 per bldg. He claimed he was a VP, & had to get rid of these bldgs because of inventory tax charged. He told me he could cut a bldgs in half (I put on buyerzone that I wanted 1 garage - 40' x 40' ea). I told Jack that I had just started looking & was not ready to make a decision. He said that he had a 35' x 35' bldg that was going to auction, worth $75, 000, shipping costs 10%- $7, 500 plus tax, but could sell me the bldg way below value w/no tax (since he could put it on "Arizona" paper), free shipping & free blueprints.
He insisted that all he needed was a name to put on the bldg & pressured me, stating I could cancel w/in 3 days & get my money back. He made numerous fraudulent claims to me during this time about USB, the bldg, how it would look, the costs & time to erect it, etc. I told him I was not sure this was what I wanted, but he assured me that he just needed my name to hold this bldg to save USB money & that I could cancel the order within 3 days for any reason & not pay anything. He told me he needed to label my bldg immediately that evening so that it would not get sent to the auction early next morning & rushed me to sign the order & give him my credit card to hold the bldg. This was done about 06:15 pm.
the next morning (7:45 am) I called him to let him know that the bldg he wanted me to buy, was not what I wanted. He told me that he was in Arizona (which conflicted with what he said last night) & on his way out to sell the rest of the clearance bldgs. I faxed him a cancellation notice the next morning, Tuesday [protected] days later). I called USB on Thu at 9:04 am & left a message w/ Shay (answering service) canceling my order. I received an call from Jessica w/USB order & told her I was canceling the order (which she told me she forwarded to management) canceling my order. She told me that I needed to contact my salesperson, which I told her I did, but Jack had not returned my calls.
I faxed him a cancellation notice the next morning, Tuesday [protected] days later). I called USB on Thu at 9:04 am & left a message w/ Shay (answering service) canceling my order. I called Jessica w/USB order & sent Andrew an email (which he told me he forwarded to management) canceling my order. She told me that I needed to contact my salesperson, which I told her I did, but Andrew had not returned my calls.
Someone else from USB, Jack, contacted me & offered me the same bldg for $14, 500, w/free shipping & blueprints. Later that day, Andrew called me & told me that the bldg he was selling me was going to be shipped for auction the next morning & I could get it for $14, 500 if I gave him my credit card then.
Andrew sold me something different than what he put on the order. The Quonset hut on the invoice has 1 wall (can't be 14' high if 20' w), incomplete & is not what he described. I never received a copy of the back of the order, as it declares & it was never reviewed. Blueprints were not custom, as billed. Jack overcharged/gouged me on the cost of this hut ($7500 ). On the website, they use 9 other companies’ logo, which is believed to be done w/out authority- Army & Marines. Their list of Satisfied Customers is incorrect. They have 170 complaints on one BBB site & more on others.
And I could not find any satisfied customers any where and any State. I contacted my credit union to stop payment the returned my money on the 12/30/2011 I thought it was over then two weeks later
They took $7500.00 back out of my credit card and the credit union told me they had the right.
Now I am trying to find any legal action I can to get my money back. I am getting the credit union to send me the documents they used to make the decision to pay the money to US Buildings.

The only way to get justice and shut these crooks down is to file complaints with the Florida Attorney General's office.
myflorida legal.com
This company signed an agreement in early 2015 saying that they would stop the deceptive, unethical practices...but it doesn't look like they have.
The AG made them pay over $500, 000 for past behavior, and if the AG decides that they have not stopped, they can fine them in the millions.
But to get something done, you need to file a complaint with the AG's office.
US Metal Buildings doesn't care about the Better Business Bureau ratings. They laugh at it !
It has no legal power over them, but the AG's office does.
You should google this. "US Metal Buildings Florida Attorney General" It will show you the settlement between them and the AG's office.
also google "Florida Attorney General Gary Rack" Rack is the owner of US Metal Buildings
Unless you have the money for a good lawyer ($300-$500/Hr ), your/our best hope is getting enough complaints filed with the AG's office.
The complaint can be filed on-line at the AG's website myfloridalegal.com
I too purchased a building from them, they gave me the same used car sales pitch.Lie no.1 was that i would recieve the blueprints in 2 weeks it took 2 months, lie no.2.I had to recieve my building within 90 days, but could recieve it earlier, nope waited 3 months to the day.
I also was not told i need to rent a forklift to off load the building, nice suprise.
Thank god i did not buy any of there other products roll up doors insulation etc..I found way cheaper online.
I did get the building and all the parts, but I could tell they are a shady bunch.
Well $h1t, i certainly wish i had read all this before buying from these crooks. I'm just beginning the issues with this co. Same stories as stated above. All I've paid is the initial 25% down, but have been waiting three weeks on the drawings" with floor bolt pattern. Lie after lie from "managers" and salesman alike, I think I might just bite the bullet and cut my ties before any more money is required.
Wish I had seen this before we ordered! Our situation is the same as all the above, but not only do they have $6, 400. their going to sue for the remaining portion another $6, 400. Has anyone out there taken them to court and won? Would love to know what worked.
I am a disabled veteran who lives in Texas. This Spring, 2013, high winds knocked down my awning and damaged my shed. My family said they would help with costs and I set out to find a building. I posted some information on line about my building needs and in an hour someone called me. They told me a big story about having to "offload" some building because one of their distributors in the Lubbock area was diagnosed with cancer and liquidating. They asked that if they could guantee 40% off and free delivery today if I would buy. I told them if I got what I wanted I would. These guys have it wired. They ask you what size building you want and email you a schematic to put down your dimensions and colors to send back. In the mean time, they send out by way of Fedex, Power Point drawings of a standard building sketch that is your size. Why? Because their contract/receipt says once you enter into an agreement with them, a percentage is NON-REFUNDABLE. Isn't that a kick between the legs? So they can lie and legally get away with it. In my case it was $3, 000 of my family's money for something I never received. I even called the Better Business Bureau, of which this company is NOT accreditied due to the overwhelming number of complaints, and they told me I'm out of luck. And here's the kick in the teeth, they guy I spoke to said he was going to "f--k" me because I cancelled! And in doing so would send my account to collections for ANOTHER $3, 000 and some change. I told the guy I was a disabled veteran and could not pay it. Then he asked if I was a Marine. When I told him no, he said I wasn't "s--t"! I guess that's OK these days. I'm still in shock that this happened in America. What happened to us folks? These guys need some powerful help OUT of the sales business! I can not believe they get away with such crookery and foul mouthed behavior. I'm sure they are laughing and very proud of themselves, but God has vengence for His people, and He will have the last laugh! BUYER BEWARE... STAY AWAY!
same thing happened to me- $9000 they have of my money, and I have NOTHING to show for it.
LET'S FIGHT TOGETHER for JUSTICE.

We need to work together to expose this company for what they are. I too contacted them about having a carport delivered and installed. The structure that I wanted and inquired about was to be a metal open sided 8' wide X 7' tall X 21' in length. The price was under $1, 000.00. I am 74 years of age poor hearing and limited vision. The contract that I signed came to me via FAX the print was so small that it was difficult to read using a magnifying glass. The person I talked to was Ken Rolfe out of Tempe AZ was on the phone with me when the FAX came in he too was promoting a metal building that had no resemblance to the carport I had originally contacted US Metal Buildings about. Rolfe continued to talk with his high pressure sales approach until I signed the contract also giving my credit card number and returning it back to him also via FAX. The following day after getting a chance to go over the contract we tried several times to contact them to cancel the contract. Having caller ID I am sure that they were deliberately refusing to take my calls. I contacted Chase our Credit Card holder and told them to stop any and all payments from us to US Metal Buildings as the company appears to be scamming people. I then wrote a letter of cancellation to US Metal Buildings and sent it to their Tempe AZ address as well as to that of their headquarters in Florida. Since that time Chase Bank has also jumped on the bandwagon and have started adding interest to the now $2, 788.10 that US Metal Buildings is telling our credit card company that we owe them. The US Civil Code does have sections showing the rights that the consumer has against unethical business practices. If we get together we may very well be able to put a stop to their illegal operation. My email address is deerclan1@verizon.net my name is Robert.
Phone Calls
I sent in on online inquiry to US Metal Buildings and representative contacted me. After discussing their product and determining they didn't have what I was looking for, I continue to get called daily and sometimes multiple calls per day from them. I have asked them to quit calling however they won't stop. I have got to the point that when they call I simply answer the phone and blow a whistle. On one of the occassions when I asked them to quit calling and remove me from their call list I was asked why I wanted to be removed. Unbelievable.

My husband sent an inquiry into this company as we were looking for an estimate on a metal building for the fifth wheel. The salesman was a very smooth talker and promised things that sounded too good. What bothered us was he wanted an commitment then, not a day or two as this offer was only good for the time we were talking. We were told that the deal was only good in our state that day, and tomorrow it would be available in other states instead. To sweeten the deal, he promised that every time someone came out to look at the building, they would pay us and that within a year we would have paid off a good chunk of the building costs. My husband told the salesperson, he needed to check on things and would get back the next day if interested. The next day, both the salesperson and his boss both started calling both my husband's & my phone leaving messages saying they had come across a building that could be cut in half that would fit our requirements. We are not answering their calls, and they have called several times. Amazing that the offer that was good for that day only, is still good days after! This company is very pushy, and I feel things promised were too good to be true.
Unethical practices
Lets talk about Customer Service. There is NO Service in their idea of customer service. Everything related to customer service seems to be that you, the customer, is servicing them.
Lets start at the beginning.
I ordered a 40 X 50 Metal Building. IT WAS PAID IN FULL, as their contract required.
I asked that the delivery date be postponed as the job site was not ready to receive the building. I was told that delaying the delivery was not possible. In addition, that any delay of delivery would cause me to be charged for "storage charges" until the building would be delivered.
OK, now I have the building materials on the job site. The building material was placed to the side of the job site and we worked around it. Yes, I agree that this was MY Problem. However, US Metal Buildings did not seem to care that the delivery date would cause me a problem.
Next, After the delivery, the sales department contacts me and offers me a "deal" on insulation and a "roll up" garage door for an additional $5000. As the building construction had not yet begun, I ordered the package.
Now the real fun started. US Metal Building gave me a delivery date. The job site is 200 miles from my office. I made arrangements for a crew to be at the job site to unload the door and insulation. The truck failed to show.
I made a few calls and was directed to call the insulation company. The insulation group never received the order from USMB. Another delivery date was arranged. Another crew was arranged for and the delivery never arrived. Then we did this the 3rd time. Same thing. The 4th time the insulation was sent it did arrive...but no door.
I called USMB again and was told the door came from someplace else. This delivery was arranged and it did show up on schedule.
However, the door is a "roll up" into a roll and not a "roll up" panel insulated door as was described to me by my sales person.
Now the call to customer service the rectify this latest problem. NO SATISFACTION.
I was told that I bought the door and that there was nothing that they could do. After all, the door was paid for and delivered and that ended their responsibility on the contract. When I asked to speak with the salesman that took the order I was told by the admin assistant that he worked in another department and he could not be reached. When I insisted, I was told that she had the file and the sales department was no longer available to me.
Needles to say, I am stuck with a non insulated, unusable ( for my purposes ) garage door. I was told by USMB to sell it to someone else.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH US METAL BUILDINGS.
You will be left out in the cold with no customer support and, heaven forbid, if there is a problem, you will receive NO Problem Resolution.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I too got took by this company.
They lied to me about the engineering. I was told the purchase would include all the plans to build the building. So I asked if they could rush the concrete plans so I could get the slab done because winter was coming and they said yes. After the plans didn't come for a few weeks I contacted them and they said they would send the plans right out. The came and there was no engineering for the slab. I contacted them and they said we don't do the slab engineering that's in your contract. So they had lied about it to get the sale.
They lied to me about the time it would be done and delivered. I told them winter was coming and I needed it quickly. They told me no problem but It took them twice as long to finish and deliver it than they said it would. Because of that we got shut down by snow and couldn't get it built for five months when the snow melted.
Some of the parts were wrong and they wouldn't do anything. When we went to assemble the building we found they had sent us some parts that wouldn't fit. When i contacted them they said to bad you took to long to contact us and the delay was their fault. We had to have new beams made to put this building up.
The nuts and bolts are of poor quality. Large amounts of the bolts and nuts don't even have threads so I am having to purchase more to even finish the building.
This is the second metal building I have purchased and am very glad I bought my other building from a more reputable company. I do not recommend U.S. metal buildings and will never use them again.
Thanks everyone for your honest posts. I was reany to buy a 40 x 80 shop from this company... but after reading all of these horror stories I decided NO F*ING Way... Sorry for all of you that got screwed by this company. I will buy from someone else. Thanks again, you saved me at least $25, 000.00.
On 2 Apr 2016, I requested information concerning purchasing a metal building for erection on our farm at above address. On 7 April 2016 I received a partially written quoted price for the requested building. The salesperson, Dillon Weber contacted me via telephone that same day to discuss the quote. I told him that it looked ok, but I was looking at several companies to determine the best option. He started the high pressure sales pitch to purchase immediately and I could in fact get a 'display' building with numerous upgrades due to their company establishing a new factory in Neville, PA within the previous 6 months and the needed marketing assistance within the state of PA. I asked him several additional questions concerning some of the not completely disclosed costs on the written quote that I had received, specifically cost of shipping, what type of doors would be installed, etc. He said that with the display building they would reduce shipping to 50%, $600, they would also add a 2:12 roof pitch and a deluxe trim package. I told him I needed to discuss with my spouse and would call him back. So I did talk with my wife and we agreed it sounded like a good option. I reread the written quote he had provided on company letter head and found that it states, " Every US Metal Building includes the following benefits and upgrades: 2:12 roof pitch, Deluxe Trim Package." When I called him back I asked him about it and he got very agitated at first and said these upgrades are not included in a normal building. I said it says they are in the written quote. He became angry and accused me of calling just to bust on him. I told him no, I was seeking clarification on what and what is not included on this so called display building deal that he had pitched to me. He got angry, swore at me and started yelling into the phone. I told him the deal was off and hung up the phone. Later that afternoon a Jim called me and said he is a Sr Marketing Manager and wanted to get the misunderstanding straightened out. He explained that these things were not included in a normal building and that the quote department had incorrectly sent me the wrong quote. We talked through it and I agreed that the price was okay and the deal sounded good. He put me in touch with Jay in the processing department. Jay and I talked through the financial requirements to get the production started, down payment, etc. He then said that he wanted me to sign the quote and T&Cs immediately. I told him that I was at work and would not be able to do that today. I asked him to email me the documents, I would read them over and return them signed back to him on Monday. He said they couldn't hold the display building until Monday. I told him that there was no other alternative. He asked if I used a smart phone and I told him yes. He then sent me the documents via 'Docu Sign' and walked me through the procedures to sign the purchase agreement. When I got to the T&Cs I said I could not read them and would not be able to sign until I could in fact do so. He became agitated and told me I needed to sign the docs today and that if I wasn't satisfied when I read through them this weekend I could cancel due to the Buyers Remorse 3 Day cancellation clause. I told him I would not sign them without reading first. He got mad and hung up. When a I arrived home from work, I opened the documents and found the T&Cs are typed in 5 pitch font. I increased the font to a readable size and found that there is a sentence whereby the buyer waives their rights regarding a Three Day Right of Rescission. They also retain your deposit if canceled and many more clauses that are very stringent concerning specific actions required by the buyer to retain warranty and other rights. Needless to say, I did not sign the Docu Sign document. Jay called me, approximately 11:00 am EST, 11 April 2016 and said he had not received my signed documents. I told him that I was not going to purchase the building from their company. He asked why and I told him that the T&Cs are unacceptable to me. He pressured me to tell him what I meant by that, so I told him about the waiver of the Three Day Right of Rescission waiver, the requirement to complete a complete inventory within 24 hours of delivery and the requirement to not leave any part of the building on the ground for more than 7 days or all warranties were voided concerning paint, rusting and corrosion. He got very angry, called me a [censored] and said that these are the normal industry acceptable T&Cs. I told him he was incorrect and he began swearing at me, I hung up the phone. I then immediately contacted by credit card company, told them what had occurred and requested an immediate cancelation of our credit card and that a new one be issued. They agreed and thus I hope that we are safe from any illegal charges at this point. Beware of doing any business with this company!
This company needs to be filed on fined and put out of business. They lied to me from the start. I am out around five thousand dollars because of their lies and incompetence. They did not deliver when they were supposed to. Which caused me standby time for a forklift three times. They dropped and ran over my order once. Then shipped it back to the factory to be rebuilt and sent it back with damaged goods. When you call them they give you the run around and send you to someone else who doesn't answer and won't call you back. Some of the structure parts will not line up.They sent two different colors of metal. Cannot get anyone to help me. Just more lies and more bs. I am instructing my lawyer to file suit on us metal buildings and their manufactures and owners and employees.
8 months ago I bought a US metal building they give me a good they and said it would be delivered within 5 to 7 weeks.I still have no building they have not even tried to ship me one I call every other day and leave a message they will not return any messages at all they will not give me an answer and I have not cancelled the order yet do not do business with this company .

Oh My God! I found out a minute too late what ### these people are . We are out 3950.00. I want them to hang from a large tree on the town square .Is anyone else here in texas. I want to sue them too . Any help would be fantastic.
I am in the market for a 30'x 40' steel building and saw their site on google and filled out the section stating my desired building and was contacted by a salesmen named "Dillon".
He was at first very polite and offered me a deal on a building if I was willing to be a part of a program they are supposedly running where my building would be a model building
in which they would call me approximately 2 - 4 times a month to schedule a showing to perspective clients for which I would be paid $500 dollars per showing, after 45 minutes
on the phone with Dillon he ask me to get out my credit card for a 25% down payment on the $14, 310.00 building, I told him I needed a little time to think it over before I made my
decision, he got very angry, started to rat and rave about all the time he had wasted with me so I hung up on him! A few days late another salesmen named "Leon" called, I told him
about Dillon and that I couldn't see myself doing business with a co. that treats their client ell that way, I was interrupted by another man named "Bill" he said he was Dillon's manager
and was listening in while I was on with Dillon and that after 50 minutes with Dillon I refused to give a $500 deposit, I said not true he wanted 25% ($3, 300.00) he called me a liar and said
quote "why don't you go buy your ###ING building elsewhere ###" so I will and thank you all for your honest comments about these financial pariah .
