I waited for Christmas clearance sales all month and went into Walgreen location on Lake Otis and 88th on 01/01/21.
I purchased items that was on christmas shelf that was marked 50% off. I went to the register to check out and told the manager that checked me out that it was on christmas shelf, marked clearance and he did not honor the prices.
I purchased the items because it was for donation. The next day I decided I would return the items since the manager did not honor the clearance price and would purchase similar item at Walgreen Midtown/Northern Lights and Lake Otis or Debarr location. The same stuffed animals were confirmed by another manager at northern lights, debarr, and lake otis that it is Christmas sales. My items were rung up at 88th as valentine items therefore I was charged full price. I went back twice to 88th and was told by a cashier they put in a "ticket" to fix their system. I asked her "how would I know if the issue has been fixed".. My concern is that I have to drive a few miles to their location daily and it is very inconvenient. The cashier again turned me away and told me there is nothing they could do. I want a refund is my issue because I paid cash and I wanted to go shop at another walgreen or walmart or any other store. The cashier was not friendly and did not care about my concern about giving me a courtesy call or a timeframe their system will be fixed. I listened to her and returned on 01/04/21 to attempt the refund. I was ensured by the Walgreen Northern Lights location manager that on 01/4/21 Walgreen will have a 75% off sale for same items. I went into the Walgreen 88th location to my surprise Mathew the assistant manager on duty was very rude! He did not care for my explanation on what happened. I told him that I want to refund the items because it was not on sale so I can go to a different Walgreen and purchase the items on sale since he did not honor the prices that were marked at their location. Mathew simply told me no! For no good reason I was turned away! I waited all weekend to drive again to this location for my refund and was told I cannot shop at that location anymore. I was furious and in complete shock because I shop at walgreens a lot. His behavior is unprofessional, inconsiderate, and rude! I am so mad that if all else fails I will seek legal service. This is not acceptable! He humiliated me in front of other customers and did not bother to find a solution to the problem. Walgreen did not honor the wrong prices and now his solution is to banned me from that location. This is no way to treat a customer. A loyal customer to say the least. I have spoken with managers at other Walgreen locations here in Anchorage and they too are sorry that Mathew did not go about the right way to resolve this matter.
There is nothing wrong with the items and I have the receipt to confirm that I purchased them items 2 days ago at 88th Walgreen location. Mathew was the manager who was acting cashier when I checked out. He knows exactly what happened and refuse to help me refund the items. It is not my fault that there system is down or the employees misplaced or marked items with wrong prices. He should be disciplined for the way he reacted and he has no right to talk or treat a customer the way he did. He is very unprofessional and rude. WORST experience ever! I have been shopping with Walgreen for a year and have never come this close to how inconsiderate and rude these employees are. All I wanted was to refund the items so I can purchase the items at another Walgreen location that will honor the Christmas sales. I was not treated fairly and the employees should understand that the customers come first because the customer is paying for the items.
