CVS - CVS Pharmacy

I experienced brain damage from extreme childhood abuse and neglect resulting in complex ptsd, panic attacks daily, executive functioning disorder, cognitive dysfunction, OCD and ADHD. I failed in school, couldn’t keep a job, bullied and reliable, dependable and not trusted to do anything of importance. This had a severe effect of my self esteem and confidence.

I was diagnosed as a young adult and was put on several medications that did help. After years of therapy I was able to manage all these disorders except the executive/cognitive dysfunction & ADHD. I tried to without medication but was not successful and almost lost my job. I have tried natural remedies also without success. The only medication that helps me function is the Adderall. As much as I don’t like to be dependent (not addicted) on any medication I don’t have a choice since there is no cure. I can not be responsible to hold a job or manage my own daily responsibilities without the help of this medication.

In the past few years I have been given a hard time at the pharmacy. Questioning why I need it, delay in filling it, requiring me to jump through hoops getting prior authorizations etc. even though they can see my prescription records they treat me like I’m a drug addict. There’s been times the pharmacist choose not to fill my prescription even though my insurance said to put it through.

My Dr. Prescribes Adderall 30mg tables qty 90 (1 tablet 3x a day) however the insurance changed the way he had to write them because they would not cover that and said to write the scripts as follows: one script (Adderall xr 30mg qty 30, take one first thing in the am) second script (Adderall 30mg tablet qty 60, take 1 at 11am and 1 at 3pm). As can be seen in my prescription records

My Dr. Was going on vacation out of the country and wrote my prescriptions before he left when I went to fill it I didn’t notice he wrote the prescription for the Adderall tablets for qty 30 instead of 60 in error.

I didn’t notice the mistake until I got home and opened the bag. When I contacted my Dr. when he returned he said he had to write 2 scrips to make up for the missing amount because insurance wouldn’t cover so he wrote a one for 20mg qty 30 and the other 10mg qty 30.

CVS filled the 20mg but said the Dr had to do a prior authorization in order to get the other one filled in which he did. When I contacted CVS they still said they wouldn’t fill it regardless of the authorization and hung up on me.

I have experienced many inconveniences and problems with this pharmacy but have overlooked it understanding they must be having a bad day or just very busy and given grace but this is now the norm. I don’t understand why the pharmacy has to make an issue of this every single time I get my medication. It’s not like it’s a new medication and they can see I’ve been taking the same medicine for years. This is unnecessary, no respect or consideration for the patients and customers. They show no concern, treat me like an inconvenience and worse like I’m a drug addict. Is there any service standards anymore!

What happened to CVS Mission Statement, Vision Statement & Core Values

The pharmacist refused to fill me prescription at his own choice. He refused to listen to me when I tried to explain the situation

His name is Nathan Venger

CVS Pharmacy location

2385 N Silverbell Rd

Tucson, AZ 85745

Desired outcome: Retain staff about the mission statement. The pharmacist said he has the final say and refuses to fill my medication so I will not be a customer no longer and will encourage everyone I know and social media of my experience.
