Home Depot - Poor customer service, communication with vendors, contractors and unresponsive management

9/2021- Small kitchen remodel planned with help of salesperson Jason. Was planning on Corian countertops for durability and maintenance, Salesperson upsold me from Corian to granite due to turnout times for each - I was assured granite would only take a couple weeks & I would only be without a kitchen for less time, while the Corian would take longer.

Delay of cabinets through Jan 2022 was expected, not an issue. I wanted to go with local contractor, husband wanted warranty and HD's 'experience & know how' & was willing to pay more.

We did most of the demo/prep ourselves, expected a refund back on the work from pre-paid estimate, $2800 but could not be refunded as it was an IT issue per store manager. Took over 2 months to get refund. This caused a screw up with our financing, costing us $200 more, and that refund is still pending as it was again an IT issue and the store could not resolve it.

Very bad communication overall. Home Depot's countertop vendor ended their contract in 2/22, but we were not informed until 5/26/22 less than a week before installation was somehow scheduled without the product being cut or even being available at that time.

3/23/22-3/24/22- Plumbing & gas line moved. Cabinets installed. Later than expected, but not an issue. We understood supply chain delays and backed up contractors.

4/26/22- Spoke to Colleen at Home Depot. $2800 refund still with IT. She stated it was 'at a level 3 programming', and was still being resolved.

5/5/22- Received call from Lindsay at Countertop Factory Southwest, installation scheduled for Tues 5/31/22.

5/17/22- Received call from Lindsay to verify 5/31/22 install.

5/26/22- Received call from salesman at MSI Phoenix (stone supplier) called about color verification. Explained they were a different company that took over for the previous Home Depot vendor, said they had chosen the closest stone to what we had picked out in 9/21, but we had to approve before they sent to be cut.

5/27/22- Husband & I had to take off work last minute & drive to MSI in Phoenix to view stone & approve before they could cut. When we arrived, MSI could not find slab in warehouse, other slab was sold, did not have detailed order info or even know how many slabs were actually needed, very bad CS with young lady who had better things to do, had to contact salesman from MSI on his day off to get reselection bc they sold the stone that we were supposed to approve.

-Meanwhile, I am cooking and doing dishes for family of 5 outside every evening from 1/22-6/22 after full time days in office, in 100+ degree temps in Tucson AZ while being sick with a respiratory infection (hacking cough/fever) for a full month during 5/22-6/22. We occasionally ordered pizza or chicken 1-2x/ week during these 4+ months.

-We began this remodel in 9/21 thinking it would be done by 2/22 at latest and we could avoid the worst of the Tucson heat.

5/28/22- My husband spoke to store manager, explained the issues with the countertops & was promised a call from the District Services Manager. No contact/follow up was received.

6/4/22- Evan (Asst Manager) informed us that the stone had just been picked up from MSI and needed to be cut, countertops would be scheduled for the following week. Promised a call from District Services Manager. No contact/follow up was received.

6/6/22- We got a call from Ophelia at Countertop Factory Southwest that the countertops were scheduled for install the next day. We called back to confirm this since we were told it would be another week & got no response. Left message x2. No contact/follow up was received that day. We called Home Depot to request clarity. CS rep said they would return call. No contact/follow up was received that day.

6/7/22- Received call from Countertop Factory Southwest to set up install for 6/14/22.

6/11/22- Russ (Asst Manager) was able to inform us that the countertops had been ready for installation on 6/7/22, but said they didn't show bc it was not confirmed by us. Promised a call from District Services Manager. No contact/follow up was received.

6/13/22- Received call from countertop installer. Installation was confirmed for 6/14/22.

6/14/22- Countertops were installed. District Services Manager for Tucson District #60, Danielle Derks finally deigned to speak to us by phone. When we asked for an allowance, Danielle rushed to have the sink installed by the next day (6/15/22), and promised us an answer by Fri 6/17/22.

6/15/22- Sink installed, water hooked up in kitchen.

6/16/22- Danielle offered us $500 total for our trouble as she now seems to think bc it is finally done, HD has fulfilled their contract & there's no longer any problem.

The kitchen is finished now, but it doesn't change the fact that we overspent due to the Home Depot 'reputation', & I will not make the same mistake twice. The 'good reputation' is a joke.

We have spent nearly $80,000 with Home Depot over the past 5 years. Not acceptable.

Desired outcome: 20% allowance for time and money lost on $9,000 remodel

Home Depot - Bathroom cleanliness

Bathroom cleanliness At the Home Depot located in the 7000 block of Broadway Boulevard is terrible. I walked in the men's restroom was hit with a strong odor of fish. The men's restroom needs to be Cleaned and deodorized, it truly stinks. The bathroom in the store this large should be cleaned at least twice a shift. A customer should never have to worry about the cleanliness of a bathroom to which she may take his children. This place reeks worse than any bathroom I've ever smelled, and I was in the Navy for 28 years so I've seen some bathrooms in my time.

Desired outcome: Steph should clean the restroom at least twice a shift
