I go to this CVS daily ever since I got to Arcata, CA back in August of 2020 and have never had any problems. The employees have always been very courteous and helpful. But over the last couple months I have noticed that there are two new employees specifically that have been very unprofessional to me on more than one occasion. I brushed it off simply because between school, starting a new job amongst almost accidentally killing myself recently in a car crash and having to deal with the after math and recovery, it just simply was not a priority. But after the rude display of disrespect and unwarranted negative treatment I received today I am more than happy to write this letter of complaint. Before I get into todays series of events ill go back to the initial incident that I brushed off. As I stated before I was in a car accident recently and am still recovering. Recently meaning a week and a half ago of this writing. I suffered a broken rib among other injuries but point being I have about 4 more weeks of recovery and am supposed to be taking it easy on my body and mind. So keeping as stress free as possible. So how ironic it was that the literal day after I got back from being towed 240 miles from where the crash happened to home. Once I got back to Arcata, I realized I needed to get some supplies. So I go to my local CVS as I usually do to get some items. When I got in line I go to the cashier and she is a new employee. Mexican girl who looks about in her early 20's. I know this because I go here literally everyday for one reason or another. Usually for cash back. I also notice that day a new shift manager. A shorter Mexican women that appears about her late 20's. I proceed to pay and I cant help but notice that the girl, my cashier, is giving me the most grotesque look of disdain. Unsure what her problem is I say to her "I was in a car accident recently and that's why I look bruised up." She just goes "mmh" as in like okay whatever in an indifferent tone. Never really even asks any of the normal questions. Do you need a bag? Cash or card? I don't think she even said the amount to me. She didn't say anything just gave me that disdainful look of disgust the whole time from beginning to end. Now I don't expect any kind of special treatment when I go to local places to shop but I sure as hell don't go to local places to shop to be treated negatively or badly. I am the person that WILL let it be known that it isn't okay and it isn't right. I WILL say something. All I can think is 'lady just give me my stuff and let me go on with my day without having to get your sour attitude.' I brushed it off that day went on with my life since I have actual better things to be doing. Fast forward to today 10/24/21 at approximately 3 to 3:30 (I stupidly threw my receipt away in my state of anger so I cant say the exact time of purchase) But regardless, I go into the store and pay for two items. A scrub brush for my bathtub and a new dog bed for my dog. The new store manager the shorter Mexican girl of the two as well as another brand new employee. White guy in his early 20's with brown hair in a man bun. The Mexican girl that's a manager, helped me to pay for the items and that went smoothly. After paying I walk over to the ATM to get out 20 bucks since there's no fee. I am then walking towards the front door to leave when all of a sudden out of nowhere "Hey you paid for those right?" I look to my right only to have the girl I mentioned from the first incident seemingly appear out of nowhere. I don't know if she was in the store the whole time and I didn't see her? If she got back from lunch break or was just starting her shift? All I do know is that I was instantly aggravated and infuriated at the notion that I would be trying to blatantly steal a dog bed and a tub scrubber of all things. Never mind the fact I shop at this CVS everyday and she has seen me on numerous occasions shopping. I am not a vagrant off the street. I have never attempted to steal from the store ever once. I don't dress in a way that would make people think I'm homeless or poor but here she is asking me that? Her assertion was based on nothing more than her clear dislike for me and nothing else. Her motivation lied solely in hopes of embarrassing me in front of the line of customers and/or at the very least just to get some entertainment watching me have to awkwardly squirm about to find said receipt. I had every right to have thrown the receipt away if I had wanted before she ever asked! I already paid and I knew that I paid! I did find the receipt btw after looking in almost every pocket. To make things more ridiculous the gentleman whom I mentioned earlier as being a new employee. Perhaps his first day or first week on the job. He clearly had seen me pay for those items less than 5 minutes earlier and said nothing! Just watched and never once spoke up that he had seen me purchase the items! I know he knows because he heard the Mexican girl that helped me say I can help whos next and he made eye contact with me as I walked over to her with the items in my hand. He knows I paid but yet said nothing! Screw that guy. He should be fired. The cherry on top of all this is when I leave I am trying my hardest to not stoop to their level of ghetto that they clearly lavish in. But I do feel the need to say something. Im walking out the door and I say to her "If you ever do that again I'm going to complain to your manager." Her response? "Yea ok whatever." I mean thats' professionalism at its finest right there. I put my items in my car and go back. I ask to speak to the manager. This is how I in fact found out the shorter younger Mexican girl was the shift manager prior to this writing. I explain to her I want to make a complaint. She seems preoccupied helping some guy at the MoneyGram machine and acknowledges what I say but gives me the impression of brushing me off. Her response was equal to that of the other girl earlier. "Hmmm ok." Again very professional I like there extensive use of vocabulary. I ask her "so what happens now?" She says 'ill write up the complaint.' Doesn't elaborate any further. It then dawned on me immediately that 90 percent chance she is friends with this person outside of work and plans to do nothing. She just thinks telling me that is supposed to suffice. I had to press her if there would be any follow up if I should wait to write a complaint. She says no you told me Ill write it down. I et her know okay cause I AM gonna follow up. Its the principle. She had no right to treat me the way she did or insinuate that I stole when there was nothing I did that would warrant that suspicion in the first place. She discriminated against me. It is only obvious and I wont stand for it. I want there to be some kind of action taken. Small or big is up to the company but Ill go as high as I have to with my complaint to get some resolve. She picked the wrong one.
Desired outcome: Fire her or suspend her. At the very least give her a warning
