I am with Aetna Health Insurance, and of course get my monthly BILL from them. Inclusive is a BAR CODE to which is scanned by a clert at CVS Pharmacy, upon processing my BILL PAYMENT.
The PROBLEM is Aetna is NOT GETTING MY transaction in a timely manner, and I am DINGED for NON-PAYMENT.
Scenario is as follows:
Aeta sends to me via US MAIL OCTOBER 2023 bill.
Usually around the 4th of the month (e.g. October 4, 2023), I would walk into a CVS PHARMACY Store located in Lake Forest CA, as of late that would be the ROCKFIELD BLVD location.
The clerk would take my current bill though it may be the BAR CODE FROM A PREVIOUS BILL as I at times would mistakenly grab the wrong monthly bill, but hey BAR CODE FROM MONTH TO ANOTHER would be the same, so no biggie.
She scans the BAR CODE ON MY BILL;
ASKS HOW MUCH DO I WANT TO PAY, which of course the dollar amount due.
She then REMINDS TO KEEP MY RECEIPT as it is the only PROOF (RECOURSE) I HAVE TO HAVING PAID MY BILL FOR THAT PARTICULAR MONTH.
AETNA DINGS ME FOR A LATE PAYMENT THE FOLLOWING MONTH, WHICH IS NOVEMBER FOR NOT HAVING PAID OCTOBER'S BILL.
I then enter the information from my receipt, and it does take take some time to resolve the matter with given data.
The above scenario occurs with every monthly bill. Worse case scenario, might be because of the Christmas/New Year mail (I don't know) - I received NOTICE OF MY NON-PAYMENT FOR NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER BILL January 4, 2024.
This is the PRIMARY REASON I sought to drop AETNA during open enrollment period, but had issues getting anyone to return my phone calls to obtain a quote, and as such, I am STUCK with AETNA.
I have sent messages to AETNA, and the ISSUE ABOVE has yet to be resolved to date.
MY RATE HAS DOUBLED, and I NEVER GOT A NOTICE THAT THIS WOULD BE OCCURRING. I PAID IT YESTERDAY JANUARY 4, 2024 AT THE SAME CVS I HAVE BEEN USING FOR THE PAST FEW MONTHS.
This morning, I plan to see a manager and I am sure nothing would be resolved as I had to do this with the CVS Pharmacy located on Lake Forest Dr. Lake Forest CA.
Thus, I am using this course of action to see how effective CVS PHARMACY WOULD ACT RESPONSIBLY to resolve this ANNOYING MATTER BETWEEN THEM, AETNA, AND MYSELF.

BTW, AETNA is just as non-responsive to my dilemma as CVS Pharmacy. My next course is to contact the California Department of Insurance and the CA Secretary of State regarding this matter.
Claimed loss: My HONOR as to being expedient and RESPONSIBLE is in jeopardy due this erroneous FOUL PLAY BY CVS PHARMACY AND AETNA.
Desired outcome: I would like a formal letter of APOLOGY BY CVS PHARMACY AND AETNA for not caring enough to RESOLVE THIS MATTER EXPEDITIOUSLY. Would like it posted side by side, to this POST.
