I had some prescriptions filled by my Dr. at CVS Pharmacy in Long Beach. The lines there were long, and I was sent from one line to another line. Apparently, they were too busy to handle my prescriptions more efficiently. I could not wait any longer and I gave up.
At night, I had to travel to Yorba Linda. I called CVS in Yorba Linda in 9 AM the next morning and requested a transfer of my prescriptions. First, the representative told me that they are too busy (they just opened), then he said it would take him few hours to transfer my prescriprions. He told me that he would contact my Dr. to authorize the transfer and was supposed to call me later. I waited and waited. When I called after 5 PM, I was told by the manager that they were unable to transfer.
I cannot travel to Long Beach, so I am left without important prescriptions for the weekend, and the manager at CVS pharmacy to whom I complained just told me "aha, aha, ..." and considered the problem solved (they could not transfer my prescriptions fro one pharmacy to another).
Before, we had a Good Neighbor Pharmacy in YL that - based on my expreience - was much more concerned with the needs of their customers. Unfortunately, CVS bought that Pharmacy, and closed it shortly after that. Now, they are - to my knowledge - a monopolist in my neighborhood, and I am very unhappy with the service they provide to me.
Somehow, I am not surprised. I wish they had more competition so they could discover ways to better serve their customers. I did not feel any genuine will on their part to do what I asked them for.
