I went into the Land Rover facility in Encino Ca with intentions to buy a ‘brand new' 2017 Range Rover Autobiography. The car was sitting on the floor. We agreed on a price and went into finance, my wife was very excited. While in finance I went over to the vehicle and opened the door and the odometer illuminated 10, 200ish miles. I went to the salesman and said this isn't the right car. As I showed him the add on car gurus and the mileage shows 13 miles, in which I have pics of. The salesman Dave Petty comes back from the sales manager and says oops, we need to correct that on line. I'm pretyy easy going as long as my wife is happy. The sales manager assured me it was a NEW vehicle and had never been registered(rs'd). So I said what the heck, it's a new car(demo). In which I said ok since I don't buy used cars and the in service date for warranty was in November 2018. A little flustered about the mileage, but what the heck the wife is happy. We went out to take delivery of the car and I asked if it was serviced already, they said yes. As I watched the salesman check the oil and the lot attendant reset the oil life monitor, I knew this was not true. So Dave Petty says I'll give you a free oil change on a due bill. I said that was fine, but why do t you just send me the filters and I'll do at my own shop, he agreed. The oil filters came but a month later after I changed the oil myself. I was like, ‘this is almost the last straw'. Well 3 weeks I receive a letter from Land Rover stating this was a USED car and the dealership made a mistake by checking the NEW box. Well once again I do not buy used cars. Well that was the last straw. I immediately contacted the GM Chance Corbin bus VM. Left several messages, he did return my call and left a Vm. I tried back and he since went on vacation. So I left another message. No call back. I confirmed he was back from vacation and after 2 messages he never returned my calls. I've worked for dealerships for 20 plus years and I understand that one person shouldn't be able to ruin a dealerships name. I normally would hand over to my lawyer but I thought I'd speak to corporate before doing so. This could be an easy fix IF I can get a call back.
