Hi I am an associate that works for your JCPenney store here in Palmdale California, and I just wanted to bring to your attention how much of an unpleasant work place this really is. From your HR managers Sharon Hunt & Jeannette Grajeda who play favorites with associated to the disrespectful store manager Naomi Brennan who is blatantly racist and talks down to the Associates as if she is better than them. I started working for this company in 2016 and it was one of the best places I have ever worked so much that I had given up a job that I had really cared about because I loved working here so much, well that is definitely not the case anymore. The Current store manager who has been there for a short amount of time walks around the store and makes all of the associated feel as if they are not good enough, so much so that there have been multiple associates who loved their jobs and wanted to retire with the company leave the company because of how much of an uncomfortable environment she has made it for those who still work there. She has made blatant remarks on how she does not like people of color and you can see that she does not by the fact that there have been Associates of color who have worked for the Palmdale CA store who have been let go or pushed out because she does not personally care for them. To hear your HR management and store manager talking in the offices about how they would like people to be fired or let go because they are not "liked" is simply unprofessional and disgusting, the fact that you guys would sit around and allow these people in management to make your associate (who are the ones driving your business and making sales I might add) feel like they are trash and they don't work hard enough is the very reason that we are failing as a company you can't expect to drive sales and make i caps and make the plan when you have bad management who then runs the store into the ground which is what she is doing, she allowed associates to not only not take their breaks and lunches when they are supposed to she also tells the HR management to fix associates time stamps if they get a violation so that the store doesn't get in trouble and have to pay the extra time I have personally been shorted on pay that I have earned because the HR management is never in the offices to do payroll correctly, to which I have all the proof and printed documentation if a law suit is in need to be filed. I also have proof of working more hours then I have gotten paid for and upon bringing it to HR's attention they give you excuses and do not adjust the pay that you worked and did not get paid for, if this has happened to me how many associates in this store have not received the Proper pay for working so many hours you can't underpay and take hours away from peoples payrol if they have already worked them that is also illegal & again a very big lawsuit. There is no type of back bone in this store as an associate I have had other associates come to me and tell me they feel bullied by the management or other associates who work at this store and they feel that they have no one to go to because the store manager plays favorites and if she does not like you then you will loose your job, I also might add is A. Retaliation and B against the law to make your associates feel like they can't go to management nor HR because they will not do anything for them if you can't even go to your store manager or the HR managers inside of this store then who can you even go to? Because I will let you guys know right now that these "managers" are going to get your company into a lawsuit that I'm sure you do not want to take the time to speak with nor do you have the funds to afford to pay out. Please as an associate as this store I would really just like the place back that I loved so dearly, this store used to be a place I would wake up and love to go to now I wake up and dread going to work because of the people that you have to be around while you are there, no one in this world wants to feel as if they are not enough, like they are only worth being bullied, like they have no voice when things are happening and they want to speak upon but can't because they will be retaliated against. Trust me a happy worker creates a loyal customer and you are showing this store that it is just okay to mistreat your associates when they are the ones who are the pride and joy of this company please make a change we just want out happy non bullied work environment back
