On the evening of 6/1/2021, my wife and I went to Popeye's restaurant in Whittier, CA. We have visited this establishment many times prior. After ordering in the drive-thru we proceeded to partially pay our bill with a Popeye's gift card that my wife had. The cashier (male) stated that there was no money on the card and my wife asked for him to request assistance from someone else. Then a girl by the name of "Connie" tried several time and stated that there was nothing on the card. My wife responded, no, try again because I used $8+ dollars so there should still be $16 and change. The girl tried again and said it wasn't working and there is nothing she could do. My wife was mad at this point and asked her to ask for a managers help, which she then stated she was and there was nothing on the card. Frustrated, my wife again asked her to ask for someone else's help, she walked away saying "you deal with her" and had someone else come and help. That someone else (female) was able to retrieve the $16 + that was on the card. Then stated to my wife that she didn't have to be impatient or annoying (something along those lines) and my wife said, wait, where is the customer service. If she can't handle customers, she should not shout "you deal with her". We as customers only expect customer service. We are not looking to spend our hard earned money at an establishment that does not value their customers.
Desired outcome: All staff should be well trained in customer service and how to deal and treat customers.
