Original meeting date at the new hartford connecticut store of 7/16/21.
Met with kitchen design employee, claudia wolfe. Our original meeting was over two hours long with claudia. We discussed our kitchen renovation in full, we discussed our color palette, dimensions, and our time lines.
The "quote" of $15, 322.91 was paid in full at this time, which included the cabinets, countertops, and island. According to claudia, the time frame for the cabinet delivery would be 4-6 weeks.
We then returned to the new hartford home depot store on 7/26/21 to discuss charges of the island, countertops sink freight charges etc. This had been discussed numerous times via telephone with claudia and the store manager. Both employees were not helpful, they were demeaning and excusatory in the actions, telling me"that is your problem now" 'there is nothing we can do for you". The lack of professionalism and customer service is inexcusable, and as a frequent customer at home depot, I will never use them again. Today the manager literally asked me my name as if" is this tim again?, and then hung up on me!
The number one rule for any business is that "the customer is always right".
Unfortunately, we ended up having to receive the cabinet order much to our dismay, both claudia and the manager telling us we were "stuck with this order".. The cabinet order was delivered on 8/9/21 to our home address. The majority of the boxes were barely taped shut, boxes were crushed. I opened box one to find chips and nicks, box two, chips nicks, glue, box three chips, panel scratches, uneven drawers, uncomplete closure of drawers, uneven cabinet door closure. The lazy susan barely turned, hitting the bottom panel which was clearly scratched and nicked.
Immediately called home depot, spoke with claudia, she came up with every excuse in the book, again, you are stuck with this order",. But send us the pictures which we took over 30 pictures, forwarded them to not only home depot but thomasville as well.
This experience has been a nightmare from day one, I cannot believe that a business would treat their customers with such attitude and lack of care or concern.
Bottom line is all we want is a refund, no restocking fee and chance to get our life back on track, this has been not only financially draining, but emotionally as well.
We started this project to enhance our lives and our child's life, to make a kitchen space that functions better for our family. Our child has type 1 diabetes which is a disease that is based on keeping a balanced scheduled diet, healthy meals prepared in a timely manner with consistency. We have no kitchen now for over a month which makes meal planning, cooking, and keeping our child's health also in a state of flux.
Home depot's lack of interest in resolving this problem has not only led to the inconvenience of our living arrangements, now we are faced with another delay in keeping our child's health in his best interest, because home depot could not comply with basic rules of customer service 101.
