Petco - Sold sick animals

I bought two (female) guinea pigs on April, 24th 2021 from Petco in Deerfield Beach, Fl. The two guinea pigs were in the same cage.
The very next day (April 25th) we noticed my daughters and I noticed what seemed to be dry skin on one of their noses.
Over a course of two days (April 26th and April 27th) her condition worsened every 24 hours, she was losing hair rapidly and a bleeding scab had appeared.
I made an appointment with the vet that was on the purchase papers of the two guinea pigs.
When we got there (April 30th) less than a week after purchase, we were one told that we had purchased males.
Found out that one had ringworm and most likely mites and that the other, that I had brought in as I feared it may also have ringworm, had pneumonia and one lung was already filled with liquid.
My vet bill was $798.75 dollars and a course of treatment that would last at least three weeks with treatments up to three times per day.
This vet bill does not include the doctor suggested follow up appointment in three weeks time. I spoke to petco and they said they would take the animals back. I have been made aware of petco terminating animals in these situations and I fear for their lives. Further when I took them for treatment I didnt at all assume it would be such a difficult situation nor had i any intention of returning the animal but I do feel my bills must be reimbursed.

Desired outcome: I want a full reimbursement of my vet bills because i was sold very sick animals. I have had to administer medicatin around the clock to keep them alive (specially the pneumonia one)

I (as well) purchased 2 guinea pigs from them- FEMALE I was told. One got pregnant and I ended up with 5. After complaining and speaking to GM, they said they would reimburse my vet bill- but didnt. I have contacted several time and different people. They stopped responding and no reimbursement. So ridiculous. They told me they would take the babies for free but wouldnt buy them from me because I am not their vendor. But they would sell the babies and make a profit. I found loving homes for all babies- after 10 weeks, and am so upset over their customer care.
