I ordered a sofa and loveseat from American Signature Furniture. The salesman
encouraged paying for delivery because if anything were damaged and they
delivered it I would get a replacement. When the furniture was delivered there
was a scuff mark and a hole on the arm of the loveseat. The hole was small
probably about an eighth of an inch. The delivery person said they would notify
the office and send out a technician who would probably recommend replacement
because they can't repair a hole in leather very well. The company hadn't
contacted me in a couple of days so I called them and they scheduled a repairman
to come out in three weeks. In the meantime I attempted to contact both the
store and the corporate headquarters to state I wanted the loveseat replaced not
repaired. The corporate office has only an email address and did not return 2
emails.
When the repairman arrived he said he would repair the loveseat. I asked him
about the hole and he said it's not really a hole because there's some material still behind it. He put what
looked like putty into the "hole" and there were bumps left from the repair. He
said they would take about an hour to dry. Three hours later the bumps were
still there, I called the store and explained this to the person who answered
the phone who assured me I would not be required to accept furniture that wasn't
to my standard. She transferred me to service where they attempted to schedule
another service appointment. I asked to speak with a service manager and the
lady who came on the phone told me it was like buying a car and sometimes
furniture comes with some dings. I asked her if she was serious comparing
buying furniture to a car.
At that time she put the store manager Jason on the phone. Jason asked me if it
was a hole and I said it was, which is the same thing his delivery person saw.
He called the service tech who said it wasn't and that now I should let it dry
overnight. I told him I did not want to accept damaged furniture and he said that mine was just one of many sofas they deliver and
I should see how bad some of the others are that they repair. After several
minutes the final result was if I was dissatisfied they would send the service
tech again, but it was his call if the loveseat was repaired or replaced. I
want new (not damaged) furniture as I expected when I purchased it.

I bought a mattress from American Signature. It came with a five or ten year warranty. Within two years the spring coil broke. I called American Signature and they sent a tech out after three weeks who assured us it would be replaced. Three months later, I still had not gotten a replacement mattress. When I called the store to see why I hadn't received a new mattress, they said, "Sorry we forgot about you. Just come to the store and pick a mattress that is all you have to do." Yesterday, I went to pick out a mattress that would not have the same coil issues. The salesman kept trying to upsell me and I still do not have a mattress. The store wanted me to pay $163.00 for the mattress I chose. I informed them that I did not need the boxspring -- just a mattress replacement. Finally, another employee said, "Well if you choose this mattress we will only charge you $50.00." Why am I having to pay for something that was warrantied by your company? Low an behold, I do not have a mattress. I have wasted months, time and energy trying to get a replacement mattress, and gas going to your store. Please send me a mattress that will accommodate my family. I have never had a problem with the furniture I have purchased at your store. All I want is a mattress that does not have busted coils and is comfortable to sleep on. Is that too much to ask?
I want to Thank everybody who took the time to post their complaints. I live in NY and just purchased a retirement home in Florida. I am looking to furnish the entire house, and am looking for a furniture store close by. Reading these postings will surely keep me away from American Signature Furniture. Another "big" loss for them. Once again, thank you.
I wish everyone would read these comments and beware. I purchased two chairs from the AS in GA and the chairs went flat, screws fell out but i didnt know where the screws were coming from until one day when i moved the chair to vaccum the chair felt as if it was in two pieces, i called them and they said my warrenty was for fabric. There is an expectation that furniture, sofas, chairs, tv stand, etc will last for years. I WILL NEVER SHOP THERE AGAIN!
i bought a livingroom set in 2007. when i got it delivered it was sitting firm. i thought it was a durable livingroom set but in about a month the cushion sag on the back of the sofa and the cushion you sit on got flat. it wasnt firm anymore. i call the only for them to send me more cushion. i paid them 1, 300 in cash for the set and it did last a year. when i apporached them to see if my warranty was still vaild. they to me it had aspired a week ago. so i am stuck with a sorry piece of furniture. i advise anyone to go any shop somewhere else. denise thomas of ga.
