I had a card with an in-store credit of $741.59 left on it but misplaced the card. I went back to the store to ask if they could issue another card and they said nothing could be done and told me to call Home Depot's 1-800 number. I did that as well and was told again nothing can be done.
I was told there was no way to track the in-store credits, even with a receipt (which I have) from my last purchase displaying the last 4 digits of the card and the amount left on the card. This doesn't seem possible. These have to be tracked somewhere if there is card number. What would be the point of unique card numbers then? Someone is able to track this but no one is willing to help. I work for a company that spends thousands a year at Home Depot but will be switching to Lowes after this. The customer service was so poor, in the store and on the phone. I wouldn't mind if it was not much value on the card, but this is $741 and Home Depot just doesn't care.
Desired outcome: To cancel the old card and be issued a new card with $741.59 value.

I wrote about this about a week ago and did not receive a response.
want you to know I will be looking to close my account after this months payment and will be doing all my future business with Lowes.
I advised you that I was approached by your employee at the 22nd Avenue store in St. Petersburg about getting a new hvac system. I made the appointment waited 2 hours spent an hour with the tech (Tim Jenkinson from ARS Rescue rooter )from the company you sent out). The address for the new unit was to be 7816 39th Avenue N St. Petersburg.
I never received a quote, then spent another 15 minutes on hold today once again asking for the quote. I asked for it to be emailed - NO RESPONSE
Iguess my business in not valued.
