On may 14, 2014, my doctor’s office sent an electronic prescription for gabapentin to the walmart pharmacy located at 6712 us hwy 98 w santa rosa beach, fl 32459. The prescription was not filled until or rather i was notified until may 17, 2014 by an automated message stating a price for my prescription. I called the pharmacy and notified them that my blue cross and blue shield was my primary and medicaid was my secondary. According to medicaid’s new process the pharmacy must charge bcbs and then physically call medicaid and inform them that bcbs has paid whatever amount and then they will cover the rest. I informed the pharmacy that i knew it was a huge inconvenience and apologized, and the girl said she would take care of it. I came in walmart on the following sunday may 25, 2014, since within a week i had not heard anything from them about my prescription, and the same girl i spoke to told me that she was sick, didn’t have time to call medicaid and gave some other excuses to do with employees calling in. I was ok with that, understanding the situation and told her i would check back next week when i came back that way. Within 4 hours i received a phone call stating my prescription was ready for pick up and i assumed it would be there the following sunday as i had informed her twice that i come there once a week. I again came to the pharmacy on june 1, 2014, and apparently my prescription had been put back on the shelf. At this point things were a bit ridiculous. I told the girl, agitatedly, i will need it to be refilled and i will return next sunday to get my prescription. She yelled at me and said very smart - like that it will be put right back on the shelf she will not hold it until next sunday. I told her that it was her fault it has taken damn near a month to get my medication and that she better have it next sunday or i will talk to the store manager. She rolled her eyes rudely and stood her ground she would not have it there sunday. I spoke to the assistant store manager who went back there and i have no clue what she said because i returned home, i was livid as would anyone be with this situation. I am leaving out of town friday june 6, 2014 for a month so my doctor wrote my prescription for lortabs a few days early and advised me when i got to the pharmacy to call them so that they could approve an early fill so i could leave out of town. When i arrived the same girl i had a problem with told me 35 minutes and i noticed she didn’t even scan my prescription in. So i wait 45 minutes and came back. The pharmacist was rude and treated me like some drug addict. I had her call my doctor’s office like they said and she covered her mouth and told them i was pharmacy hopping. She then state i had a prescription at the publix down the street for gabapentin and i was trying to fill lortabs there and that i had another prescription in panama city beach for another drug. Well my prescription in panama city beach has been there for over 2 years and it is by a panama city beach doctor and is an antibiotic for acne (Not a controlled substance) . And i had no knowledge of a prescription down the street. Come to find out i went to publix down the street and apparently the walmart pharmacy technician had transferred my gabapentin saying she was me without my consent or knowledge, thus making me look like i was pharmacy hopping. I feel that walmart violated my hippa rights and my human rights. I was made out to look like a drug addict because their pharmacy technician did a deceitful transfer without my knowledge. I am consulting a lawyer at this point and he advised me to first contact the board and file a complaint. I am also a healthcare professional and this violated so many aspect of ethics and laws that i do not know where to begin. I want to see the technician terminated and the pharmacist that treated me like a drug addict without asking me just calling my doctor’s office and slandering me without any knowledge of what was going on to have her license suspended or terminated from the facility immediately and the incident to go under her license so that other healthcare providers are aware she feels she has the power to violate rights and freely slander patients without having any knowledge of the situation.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
