The following is the website to the Attorney General of Florida which states that Omni Financial has a pending Civil Lawsuit against it for alleged misrepresentations regarding tax relief services.

Omni is not only the absolute worst place to work violating a tremendous amount of hostile work environment federal and state law but they absolutely rip off their clients with no real resolution, this place seriously needs to be investigated and assigned a court appointed official to report to

Omni ripped me off for $1, 250. It may not seem like much to some but our entire debt to IRS is $13000 with fees and penalties (which are about 50% of the debt). The IRS was threatening levies, liens and garnishment even though we are on a payment plan and doing the best we can. They (Omni) were supposed to get us on a $25 monthly payment plan and reduce our debt to possibly $0 (I know, you are probably thinking how could I believe this, but they said with what we paid already and the amount in penalties and abatement and our financial hardship we were perfect for getting this crazy reduction. I kept being told that I would be speaking to "MY" team of lawyers. This never happened. All my conversations were with a Tammy Strang, whom I think is just an admin person. and when I got paperwork from the IRS (because Omni's last direction to me was, "follow it up on your own" ) my lawyers turned out to be "no longer employed", according to the IRS and when I googled their names they are with human resources (when googled I got their names and Omni in the same paragraph which read, "send your resume for acct manager to mylawyersname@manpower.com"). The payment plan they set up for me was $.25 (cents) less than what I have been paying for years. As far as the abatement reduction I've never seen or heard anything as of yet. The worst part to me is that in the last 2 years I lost my mom and dad and had been taking care of my mother with dementia (stopped working to do this) and now I am in the process of the family house being foreclosed on because my mom's medical bills were so hefty. My stress level was bad to begin with and then getting straight out ripped off for this money, when I am struggling (otherwise I would just take it as a lesson learned), not only financially but health-wise, has me in tears. I am not wealthy enough to just let this go, or I would. My husband and I are good people who for my health should just eat the lose, but I can't. The sad part to me is I tried to work with the IRS but I was getting nowhere with them. This is my husband's debt who is and always has been a working class hero and always, always paid his way in Life. He is a 58 year old craftsman. Due to no fault of his own but due to the crash in the economy, he needed help from someone, anyone in the system and it wasn't there, so I decided to hire OMNI because for approx 2 years they kept calling me saying that the IRS was going to get more aggressive, etc. etc. I believed them because over $800 (not much money especially when you just got through paying off approx $750) the DOR put a lien/freeze for 2months on his bank acct. (And this $800 shows up in 2012 for some abatement in 2007 after we had just paid the DOR off 2 months prior). I guess y'all have the picture . . . OMNI is a straight out RIP OFF. And when I hired them I told them that I read a bad review and they (TAMMY STRANG) gave me a big song and dance as to how it was through no fault of theirs. And before they withdrew their POA they did try to get another $2500. Now when it is all said and done (or so they think) they never had anyone working on my case. I will pursue this if it kills me (and it may) because the disrespect that they've showed me is beyond my comprehension. Remember these names: TAMMY STRANG (the only person I spoke to in approx 3 months time), Michelle Charbeneau 0309-34895R (I have no idea what these #s are, I think OMNI made them up) because this person is no longer employed and according to Google is with manpower or some type of hr position with Omni, and my 2nd legal rep LaChandra Williams 0308-71659R (another person I never spoke to or heard of but in google search got a bachelor of science degree in 2007 (if in fact this is the same person. At this point I was too aggravated and PO"d to spend any more time on this.

To complainants and all taxpayers: I'm a former IRS Revenue Officer and current owner of a tax firm that helps individuals and businesses resolve their IRS tax matters. The fact that there are a few bad apples in the tax relief industry is an unfortunate reality. These resources may help taxpayers faced with an unscrupulous "tax professional" :

1) Contact the IRS Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) and file a complaint. They oversee, and can sanction, Attorneys, CPAs, Enrolled Agents, Registered Tax Return Preparers (RTRP) and others. http://www.irs.gov/irs/article/0, , id=175512, 00.html

2) Use IRS Form 14157 to file a written complaint against your tax return preparer. http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f14157.pdf

In all cases, always search the Web in the name of the person AND company you're thinking about hiring. Websites (such as this one) provide invaluable feedback to taxpayers and expose those organizations that don't have their client's best interest in mind.

OMNI Financial Services - Deceptive

If you are a current client of Omni Financial and continue to send in additional retainer to continue work on your case do yourselves a favor and request a statement of services rendered from the person handling your case. You will be surprised when you see that you could be sitting at a positive retainer but yet they keep asking for more! These people are nothing more but complete thieves! My question is if you have so much of a client's money and continue to ask for more to continue working on the case and no results have been provided, why do you need more? DO NOT LET THIS COMPANY CONTINUE TO ROB YOU!

Check out the criminal backgrounds on the employees working there. Many have drug & alcohol charges to include probation and arrest records. WOW! Can't believe anyone would trust their financial security to criminals!

OMNI Financial Services - Fraud/Scam

I am also a former employee of Omni and found myself immersed in one of the worst working environments I have ever seen in my life. The few individuals that actually hold a degree there are the 2 to 3 attorneys working for them because they haven't been able to pass or afford to take their Florida Bar. Hence these individuals are paid between $40, 000 to...

OMNI Financial Services - Tax resolution

I am so stupid. Omni financial approached me when I was scared out of my mind because the IRS had placed a lien on me. Jason in sales explained how their company works with the IRS and that they could reduce my amount owed and work out a payment plan. I am looking at a bankruptcy, loosing my car, my house, and then Omni pointed out my bank account. You can, t run from the IRS and the Omni(salesman) assured me that they are on my side, they deal with the IRS every day. I scrapped up the fee $2700 and believed I had purchased an all inclusive service. I finally felt free of fear and built up a relationship with Kristen Battle who assured me everything would be fine. Lori "Your case is easy!" Unknowing that every phone call was a billable hour. The worst part is theovernight delivery of a bill saying in order to continue they need another $2000. I had know idea! Stupid, stupid, stupid me I received an itemized bill that was padded. Basically, they did what I could have done. Can, t even imagine what they charge to actually help you. Awe, I could have sent that money to the IRS. Truly they are a wolf in sheeps clothes. They aare the worst kind of human beings. Praying on the weak and desperate I am right back where I started but at a loss of $3000. I wish I had read this page and pray that know one else gets scammed. BEWARE, BEWARE, BEWARE! They are predatory do not believe a word they say! Lori Lucey Atlantic Beach, Florida

hi I'm Berty and just like Lori I went through HELL with OMNI. They never delivered on their promises. When I said enough is enough they settled with the IRS for a ridiculous amount they knew i wouldnt be able to pay for very long. The amount im paying is $400 a month for 12months then it balloons to over $1100 a month after. All this after I was promised I was only going to pay $56 a month. Pretty big discrepancy there. well this is the crap service i received from them for only $8000. thats right if you like giving your hard earned money away you must hire OMNI. There is no shame or limit to OMNIs scam. They still contact me to see if I would like to appeal the IRS decision, well you know this is how a scam is ran. They made me a victim. They never got my penalties reduced like they told me in every phone conversations we had. In the end it was too good to be true and I was robbed. so beware of OMNI FINANCIAL they dont have your best interest at heart.

OMNI Financial Services - rip off

Believed I was fraudulently induced and baited into their services to help me take care of some IRS problems. Was quoted $3000 to resolve IRS problems. I told them the extent of my problems. Within 45 days of starting with their services, was told they would need another $3000 claiming the case was more complicated. Reason I think this is a rip off was because I was told that $3000 would be sufficient. Feel duped and baited. Am considering filing a Texas deceptive trade practices act lawsuit vs Omni.

That’s exactly how they operate, always requesting more money and giving you false hope to get more. After being down 13K my contact person went MIA.

If there is anything that occurs in a class action suit, please post it. They need to be stopped.

I am an attorney in Texas. I was recently defrauded out of $3000 by a company that promised to fix some tax problems I was having, but instead did very little other than to continue requesting that I send more money. When a few red flags made me suspicious enough to attempt to verify the accuracy of representations that were being made to me by an attorney at Omni, I decided to contact the IRS. In a nutshell, the people at Omni had been feeding me a bunch of hogwash about issues that had supposedly arisen due to my lack of diligence and stating that these unforeseen issues had made my case more difficult than initially expected...oh, and by the way, send more money. As it turns out, I was able to address these nonexistent issues (that Omni told me would cost $2, 000 more dollars to resolve) with an IRS agent and get a repayment plan in place in less than 30 minutes.

I plan to file a deceptive trade practices act (DTPA) lawsuit against Omni Financial before the end of 2009. Shoot me an email at /removed/ if you are among the many individuals that put your trust in Omni Financial at a time when you, your business and/or your family were in a most vulnerable state and in desperate need of assistance (only to be defrauded out of large sums of your hard earned money). If enough individuals are interested in seeking legal recourse against Omni, I will consider coordinating and filing a class action lawsuit, at which time this company would be forced to pay back all individuals everything that is owed them, along with a sum of money to compensate them for the inconvenience, harrassment and frustration they were made to endure at the hands of a company interested only in its bottom line.

I have worked for this company for some time now. I urge you to run the other way. The general manager LArry Fischer demands that we steal a certian amount of money from you people in order to keep our jobs. When we leave there is someone even more desperate to take our places. The company itself is reputable with teh exception if this general manager. He twists things in order to get his money and he doesnt care who he steals from to get it. It only takes one bad apple to create rotten applesauce this guy is a disgrace to the human race.

I worked for Omni for a year...yes they will take your money and run. As a "para" you are told to bill the client for work that has NOT been done and will never get done. You will get fired if you do not meet your daily billing. Omni is a RIP OFF! Do not send them any money and never work for Mr. Matt Mulligan. Bad, bad place.

I am a local who interviewed for a job at this place. From what I observed, I believe they are a scam outfit. No name on the building, fast-talking interviewer promising 40k-50k salary and didn't even go over my credentials, boiler rooms full of callers...the whole thing reeked of fraud. I urge you to go ahead and file a lawsuit. This company has been there too long and it needs to be shut down.

OMNI Financial Services - fraud and emotional abuse

I have been scammed of $20, 000 by Omni-whom
I hired a year and a half ago to settle my IRS problems for pennies on the dollar. I am legally mentally disabled and was unable to file for several
years. My psychiatrist, Dr. Edward Nunes, NYC
sent letters of my impairment and I had no problems.
Now that I am better, I hired Omni, after checking with my Trustees at Bank of America
who approved the money.
I believe that are guilty of at least Moral Turpitude. The intent to cause emotional harm and
financial exploitation. After all this time, they
never submitted a file of compromise to the iRS--
and I have received a letter that they will now
go to collection which will leave me in poverty.
