On 4/2/21 I purchased a Ryobi Riding mower from the Home Depot which comes with a 3 yr warranty. After only 14 months - basically one full summer season and a couple months into the next season the charging of the mower causes the batteries to continue to over heat and over the last month not able to consistently charge as it should. I reached out to Ryobi and have been in contact and they sent me a new charger which failed to resolve the issue. I was then sent to their safety department and started to email a guy named Henry - In which I am lucky to get a response and when I do they are vague with no direction.
I took it upon myself after a month of no resolve - reach out to Home Depot corporate office and their CEO to see what can be done for this defective mower they sold me and how we can get it to work as it cost me over $2,000. I was sent to a person in their executive resolutions department named Tonya Hodge. She responded with words like - we provide world class customer service, please send me receipt for proof of purchase. After sending the receipt I was then told by her that she will reach out to their vendor to further assist and CC the 3rd party vendor they contract with. I have yet to recieve any update or direction - sending multiple follow up emails to Tonya with ne response. Very far from World Class Customer Service - was also told they want to make sure I am completely satisfied with my product, yet no good follow up or direction in a faulty expensive mower. I am still waiting for follow up from anyone to get my mower back into full working condition.
Desired outcome: I would like my mower issue resolved so it will charge as it should without overheating of the batteries during a charge cycle and make sure no fires happen.
Home Depot - GE washer and dryer
My name is Donna Davis our washer and dryer has been serviced 3 times and still is not fixed they are lemons and need to be replaced. I have had 3 different conversations between Home Depot and GE and it is still not resolved. The last time I spoke with some from GE I was told they were going to see about getting them replaced. When I poke with Home Depot they said the same thing we wil fix it but they cant even get the parts to fix it. I have parts that were delivered to our home then the day they were supposed to come out for the 4th time on April 13, 2022 they were a no show no call.
Desired outcome: Please replace the washer and dryer. Please refund my 495.00 that I paid to have dryer duct worked cleaned as Home Depot told me the problem was but it was doing the same thing the next day after that was done.

Before I made purchase, I asked if military discount applied to garden supplies and was told by 2 employees that it did
my Home Depot card shows that I get discount on qualified items, when I got
home I did not receive discount on 2 items out of 4
garden soil 17.94 did not get
azalea tone 12.97 did not get
total 30.91 discount should be about $3.91
when I called customer care on 01/12/2022 Nicole said that they must not be on the list when I asked where I could look at the list, she said corporate has it,
I would not get this discount
Desired outcome: I should get military discount of $ 3.91 as I am signed up for program
I want my military discount
Home Depot - Credit card by citibank
Horrible Credit Card: I'm an excellent customer who pays my bills on time every time and have never been late. I was told my credit line was automatically reduce for non use over the last 6 months. I was also told that a letter went out two months before the reduction warning this would happen, but I received no such letter or I wouldv'e charged my new carpet and paid it in full the next month,.
Consumer Advise: People just need to stay away from the Home Depot store card if this is the way you're rewarded for being a great customer.
FTC Fair Credit Practices: I feel like the Federal Government needs to investigate these practices and determine if there is a pattern associated with the practice. CitiBank said it was a joint HomeDepot/Citibank decision.
Home Depot vs Citibank Customer Service Blame Game: I called Home Depot and they point he decision to Citibank. If this is the case then its time to reconsider shopping at Home Depot. I feel like the representatives at Citibank aren;t telling the truth. The representatives seem to tell you anything to get you off the phone and simply don't care.
Desired outcome: Treat Customer Better
We received a letter from Home Depot Card Services support asking us to update information including ss numbers and what we earn. With all of the scammers out there trying to acquire personal information we thought it was bogus and did not respond. So, we just received another letter saying the card was frozen and if we do not respond by the middle of this month. . .well you get the idea. our balance is small, and we are on time and paying it off this week. I told the lady who got more aggressive as we spoke that if that was how they felt I guess we should close the account and shop elsewhere. Her defense was maybe the account information was imputed incorrectly and we have had this account for years and made many major purchases. We are now former Home Depot shoppers!
Angry retired professional.
Never get any card that has to do with Citibank . I had a sears card and they said my credit limit will be lowered. I helped them out and lowered that credit limit to zero. This is a common business practice of Citibank . They will threaten to lower your available credit which raises your credit card utilization which will lower your overall credit score , so I take it as a threat and I will not do business with them nor will I do business with the store that uses Citibank credit.
Home Depot - Washing machine during covid
Governor Wolf
Since this ‘new normal' began I suspected that it was a lot of hype. Particularly, since every business and everyone dances to their own drummer. Some stores allow returns, some won't. Some stores will allow you to use their restrooms, some not (most without toilet liners, paper towels, and no disinfectant). Some people wear masks, some don't; even though it's the law (if anything, a new industry was created that you must be happy about… boosting the economy). And everything, I mean everything, is blamed on Covid.
The hypocrisy of stores announcing over intercoms stating "we care for our employees and customers. you must wear a mask to enter, wash your hands often, cough in your elbow…" (which sounds incredibly nasty, since a tissue would be far more sensible).
Our elected officials go on TV and babble about what they are doing to ‘fight" the spread of Covid, but what exactly are they doing?
Well, February 2021 sealed my suspicions about the irony of Covid. We must wash our hands often. Ok. We must sneeze in our elbows (not so okay) but Ok. We have to wear a mask (keep the economy strong!) Ok. What about washing your clothing?
Now, let us speak about new appliances and yes, they are in short supply because (drum roll please) covid! But what about washing machines…that clean the germs of the day off your clothing? I was washing my clothing each day when I got home long before covid. Shouldn't a washing machine that is in stock, at the warehouse, be a priority during a covid pandemic? Oh, no.
This happened to me. First I was told it would take 5 days to deliver my washing machine. I tried to arrange an earlier date and discovered that delivery had been pushed up to another week. Naturally I complained and delightedly received a call from lg telling me I would receive my washing machine in the original 5 days. Lg told me this, but it never reached home depot. Home depot would not hire a different delivery company to deliver a washing machine that was ready to be picked up during a covid pandemic! They also refused to allow me to arrange delivery on my own. For 2 weeks I could not wash my clothing…again…during a pandemic!
And, during all this time you would think the government would address this matter? Or, even care?
I called the Health Department and left a message because there is no one picking up phones there. Surprise! I never received a call back! I called the CDC and the woman whom I spoke with simply did not want to help. Why should that CDC get involved in a matter of public health? I wrote to the delivery company and no answer. I told Home Depot that they were hypocrites. They are the company who claims to be so caring about the health of their employees and customers and because they mandate that everyone visiting their store must wear a mask…but they won't allow you to clean your clothing.
Delivery of a washing machine should be an essential item and should take priority on delivery everywhere!
Trust me, the cdc doesn't care. The government doesn't care. The health doesn't care.
And home depot doesn't care. They only care about the health of their bank accounts.
Desired outcome: NO ONE SHOULD GO WITHOUT A WASHING MACHINE FOR 2 WEEKS WHEN IN STOCK
Home Depot - Appliance delivered with damage and hd will not help resolve
purchased a samsung washer/dryer set during a home remodel, it was delivered and placed in the garage, unopened until ready to install. 3 weeks pass and we're ready to install the washer/dryer. my Contractor got the washer installed and began to put the washer in the stacked configuration (Dryer on top of washer with samsung brackets to hold in place). Well there is damage/dents on the bottom of the Dryer that are preventing everything from lining up, and therefor render the dryer unusable to me.
Home Depot says it's been longer than 48 hours, so they won't replace the appliance, i'll have to deal with Samsung. Samsung only covers manufacturing defects, which they say this doesn't fall into that category. Ive spent hours on the phone and get nowhere. This is 1 of 4 appliances that i purchased.
Home Depot - Two identical serta power lift recliners
HD customer care Kimberly told me that because the chairs motors had stopped working that someone would call and schedule a pickup and that when asked, I was assured that they would box up and remove them to a large truck and once returned our money would be refunded.
After many calls, learned the hard truth today. We are on our own and in order to receive a refund, we are to "find someone who can take the chairs apart and rebox them and drive them to the nearest HD store (approx 75 mi away) because HD will not provide the return any other way.
Ordered 2 identical power lift chairs online. Put them together and they worked fine with the help of neighbors as I am severely handicapped. I am 73 & my wife is 72. In the following week, both chairs stopped working . Made calls to the customer care number provided and was *assured 3 times in 3 calls that someone would call and schedule a pickup. Was also assured that someone would come inside the house and dis-assemble both chairs and box them then load them and we would be reimbursed .
Today, a lone UPS driver showed up with the return ticket and incredulously told us that the chairs were supposed to be in boxes. After he left, I made yet another call to HD only to be told that we would have to "find someone who could box them up and deliver them to the nearest HD store" (approx 75 mi away). I called the HD headquarters in Atlanta where I was given the same info. So, here we are with 2 lift chairs stuck in the recline position and NO HELP and NO REFUND. I feel like I am being unfairly treated because of my disability.
Home Depot - Due to copd I can't wear a mask, I am now on unpaid leave
July 20, 2020
RE: Sebastian, Fl Home Depot
I have COPD, asthma and allergies. My condition has been verified to Home Depot HR, by the Viera, Fl VA. I take my asthma medications and have it under control. I had a heart attack in 2009, it was mild and I have had no other issues since.
It came down from corporate that all employees must wear face masks. I tried to continue with my job unloading freight but found it too difficult to breath, I was struggling a great deal. I took my concern to an ASM who had me fill out an "accommodations" form. I was told I would be on "paid leave" while they worked on getting me a different position. I was called by Crystal Webb with an opportunity to work Home Depots' call center. I had to have a special internet connection which I purchased and had delivered to my home at my expense in the hopes of starting that job soon.
I have always been part time and indicated I wanted to remain part time and I was told they would work on that. Crystal Webb came back with hours of: 12-9pm which I said was full time and could we work out something else. Ms. Webb indicated she and a team were working on part time hours for me and would get back with me. She and I emailed and talked a couple times working this out. I then received a call from Heidi Taylor, the district HR with Home Depot. Her attitude was entirely different, she was definitely negative towards me. She indicated she had no idea who Crystal Webb was and wanted her contact information, which I gave her. After conferring with Ms. Webb, Ms. Taylor wanted to speak with me and would NOT email or text me an update. As her attitude was so negative, I wanted whatever she had to say in typed form; she texted me I was now on "unpaid leave". I contacted Ms. Webb and she confirmed this sudden change of events. I have not heard from Heidi Taylor since.
I have approximately 80 days of sick leave Home Depot will not give me.
I cannot collect unemployment.
I cannot get another job because I am on unpaid leave with no indication of when that will change so I effectively still work for Home Depot.
Home Depot is discriminating against me because I cannot wear a mask. Their "accommodations" has done nothing positive for me. I do not believe it was set up in the best interest of employees such as myself who cannot wear a mask, it was set up to get rid of us.
The "accommodations" form was created "because of the virus", to help me (and others) at Home Depot remain gainfully employed after realizing the mask was compromising my breathing.
Heidi Taylor from HR stepped in and the call center job has been taken away. I have not been contacted with any other job opportunity with Home Depot.
When I filled out the "accommodations" form it was my understanding Home Depot was looking out for me. This is not the case. They are making it very difficult for me. I am technically employed so they do not have to pay unemployment, they will not give me the 80 hours each employee was given for the very purpose of perhaps not being able to work. Home Depot has purposely singled me out because I cannot wear a mask. The "accommodations" form I signed sealed my fate to not get paid. That is the only reason for that form, it is not to help you stay gainfully employed as they claim.
I was able to do my job until we had to wear the mask. Home Depot took advantage of me once they found out my condition. In no way has Home Depot tried to "accommodate" me. They want me gone because I cannot wear a mask.
I want to file a law suit against Home Depot for discrimination.
The Home Depot is just doing as ordered by the deep state operatives in government and the socialist/communist politicians. Notice that their corporate staff distances themselves from the founder? All the big box retail companies are doing this. Corporate suicide if you look at the end game.
Home Depot - Poor customer relations
I am very disappointed in the way Home Depot Credit handled this issue.
Apparently my card was used in February 2015 for 120.00. The last time I used the card (a payoff was in April of 2014)
I get a notification today in the mail, that I am 188 days past due. And Can make a settlement.
I would think, with all the money I have spent in Home depot, that you would have a department that can review this and take the time to reach out to your customers to let them know there is an issue that is out of the ordinary.
My only phone is a cell phone, so no calls were made to me. Yet today 188 days later you sent me a letter... You couldn't send a letter at first indication that this account was past due.. so I could respond to a possible fraud issue and keep my account in good standing.
I own three homes that are in constant repair. I don't always use my home depot card, I save it for bigger expenses so that I can take advantage of your interest free periods. Now to top it off you've closed my account.
I paid the 120.00 that was charged, not even sure who charged it. In addition I paid your 200.00 fees. I did this because I work hard at ensuring my credit is clean.
Home Depot Credit should review how they reach out to their customers in times like these.. We all have cell phones, and our emails receive 100 to 200 spam mails a day.. I only log on to my account if I have a purchase I've made and need to pay off. Again, today was the first time I received notification from Home Depot which worked.
Home Depot - Terrible experience
Some time ago I received a home appliance catalog from a Home Depot affiliate. At that time I hand delivered the catalog to the local Home Depot store manager who was on duty at the time. I told the manager that 'our future patronage at Home Depot stores is contingent on us not receiving another solicitation of any kind from Home Depot or its affiliates.'
In April 2008 I purchased a home appliance from the local Home Depot store. In my conversation with the sales clerk, I reminded them that I was not to receive solicitations as a result of my purchase. The sales clerk showed me a computer screen that displayed my customer information, and it was marked 'opt out.' She assured me that I would receive no solicitations.
On May 1, 2008 I received another Expo catalog. I went to the local store for an explanation. The store manager stated that the 'opt-out' notation connected to my customer information applied only to e-mail, and that the corporate office was responsible for the U.S. postal mailing. I sent a protest letter dated May 1, 2008 addressed to Home Depot Corporate Headquarters in Atlanta, GA directing the Home Depot to eliminate my name from their databases as soon as the rebate check (still owed to me at that time) had cleared their bank. I received a response to that letter, dated May 21, 2008 that said that Home Depot was interested in resolving my complaint.
On May 28, 2008 I received another Home Depot advertisement. I immediately posted a letter to the corporate office protesting Home Depot's failure to remove me from their mailing list, and sent it certified. I also sent the offending mail piece to them. The postal system reports that my letter was delivered.
On June 7, 2008 I received yet another Home Depot sales pitch in my mail box. It appearing that the Home Depot will not remove me from their junk mail list voluntarily, I am filing a USPS Form 1500 against them.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Long story short...don't order blinds from this store. i ordered mind on 4/15/10 and was told that it would take 2 weeks (max) to get them. Two weeks later, still no blinds. I was told that they should be at my home in another two weeks. Two weeks later, still not blinds. I emailed the ceo and was shifted to the store manager who (after a week's worth of the run-around) basically told me that it would end up being another month until i got my blinds. He had suggested that I go with a different manufacturer, but then ended up trying to charge me another $1, 400 for upgrades. And then wanted to charge me an additional $1, 700 for the difference in blinds (I have already paid over $2, 000 for my original blinds). Bottom line is that if you are a manager in a store, your customers are your lively-hood. If you agree to help them out with an issue, then you should first make sure that you are able to keep the promises that you make to them. The worst part, is that it is over a month later and I still have 19 windows that do not have blinds. I will never shop at HD again, and will tell everyone I know to do the same.
When will Home Depot ever actually properly train their managers to be effective in decision making? Management should be trained to use effective communication skills and sound decision making skills. Mostly, they should be trained to leave their ego at home! This company continues to be one big joke!
I signed a contract with home depot to put a new roof on my house/ They said that it would be 8K dollars, this was mid October. Mid November, they sent another person to measure. That person said that they would have someone to re-roof the house by the end of the week. The next day, the original salesperson called to say that he had measured wrong and the cost would be 12K. I told him that I had a legal and binding contract for 8K. They also place the cost of 8K on my HDDC credit card. I called Atlanta, went to the local store where the manager said that they would resolve the problem. After about a hour of waiting, he came out to say that "they" had cancelled the job and would take the cost off the credit card. (They were only supposed to charge 2K to the credit card). Well, they have not done anything. I feel that they are discriminatory against women and would not have done this to a man. There price was too high, a metal roof or wood shingles wouldn't have cost that much. They were total dishonest and they breached their contract. I would not recommend Home Depot to anyone! Please find an honest company to do your contracting needs.
