The parking lot was full, so I understood the line may be long. While standing in the long line, because there was only 1 cashier, a customer requested a return. The cashier called for a manager. This lady walks to the front of the store eating chips while still holding the bag. Begrudgingly typing in her code to approve the return, as she say out loud, "Why are these people in Dollar Tree?!" Note, I was the 3rd person in the line... so she said it loud enough for anyone to hear. She proceeds to another lane and request for the next person in line... which was me. She did not greet me, thank me for waiting and snatched my items. I addressed her comment and she proceeded to argue with me. I then asked for balloons and without moving to the area where the balloons were, she said, "We don't have them." Then moves with disgust to open the drawer to show me it was empty. At this point I was done! Why would I spend my money at a business that does not want me there AND mistreat the people paying their salary?! Dollar Tree is now on my list to boycott. I will also continue to tell my story (this one) to everyone I hear. I would rather pay higher prices for better service, than to purchase from a business who allows their employees to disrespect the customers, who are the people supporting the business, THEY CHOSE to work for. (This incident happened on 03/15 during the 11a hour).
Desired outcome: The manager should be demoted, re-trained, and mandated to take classes teaching customer service etiquette and expectations.
