CVS - Pharmacy - mistake on 4 medications resulting in subsequent error to get refills.

On 3/1/23, 4 of 5 prescriptions were faxed or electronically delivered to CVS, 4725 Waters Ave, Savannah, GA 31404 by the Nurse Practitioner at ExperCare. The 5th prescription, according to ExperCare, would not process successfully electronically. So, I was given the paper copy to take to the pharmacy, which I did shortly after leaving the Dr's office on 3/1.

One prescription was a 30 day antibiotic. The remaining 4 prescriptions CLEARLY showed 90 day fills. Three (3) prescriptions were ready when I arrived at the store (Trip 1). The one that I took manually would not be ready until the following day (Trip #2). On 3/1 when I arrived, I specifically told the pharmacist assistant that I have new insurance. I gave her the card, she stood there and typed everything in. She had some problem getting the new information to take but she said she got it in. I got my 3 prescriptions NOT for 90 days but for 30 days. The CVS pharmacy staff told me that my insurance only covered 30 day prescriptions, not 90 days, and I had to make a copayment. The pharmacist instructions on each bottle was "take 1 tablet by mouth for 90 days." Yet, the quantity for each bottle said 30.

They used the old insurance instead of the new insurance that I specifically told and gave her, watched her enter it in the system of which she verified that she entered.

The result is that I knew I would have an issue getting the refills in 30 days. Sure enough I do. I went to another CVS to get the Aspirin refilled, they did it with no problem 90 day supply. I am down to 2 Metformin pills. I tried to enter the refill by phone in CVS system. It would not accept the prescription #. When I talked to the other CVS location that filled the Aspirin, I was told that I could not get it filled by that pharmacy b/c the Waters Avenue had a hold on 60 pills from 3/2/23 that they never told or texted me was ready for pick up. She advised that I should contact the Waters Avenue pharmacy

I called today, talked to pharmacy, he agreed that my insurance pays for 90 days. He filled 1 prescription but said I could not get the other 1 refilled until 5/21. Well since they only gave me 30 pills last month, waiting for 90 days mean that I will be out of medication. I had enough from a previous prescription to make it to today. He suggested that I bring the bottle in tomorrow to show him that I only receive 30 pills last month. Now I will make a 4th trip, spending gas and time to possibly get a refill or not. Today I stopped in to pick up the Metformin filled by the same pharmacist that I talked to earlier today. His response was to explain to me how a prescription is written, maybe the dr. wrote it for 30 days, maybe this, maybe that. I'm not an idiot, I know what a prescription look like. I definitely know the pharmacist on 3/1/23 made a mistake. On 3/2 another pharmacist made the same mistake with my Metformin..

Desired outcome: Please follow up with CVS, Waters Ave to get them to refocus and hire more staff if they can't handle it alone.
