Used the drive thru this afternoon on 5/25/2021 and ordered my food as usual. Upon arriving to the window, I was asked to back up my car with no explanation as there wasn't anyone in front of me as the previous car just pulled off. So I checked my review and proceed to do so when I realized there wasn't anyone behind. Then I pulled up and then the employee asked me to back all the way back to the pole, once again no explanation. I get my food and realized that this was probably to reset the timer. As an hr professional of more than 15 years, I find that this is extremely unacceptable. If this location wants to have good performance than let the customer know what's going on. I guess she tried to have the car in front do the same thing but I was immediately behind them which prevented the individual to do so. With this strategy what if the customer hits something or someone, is this policy? If something bad would happen, then who accepts the ownership of the damage to the vehicle or building. Just doesn't make sense and safety should be the top priority and adjusting time shouldn't be greater than that. So comfortable providing instructions that this is a practice that probably has been going on for some time.
Desired outcome: Come up with a better system or have this location learn best practices from a high performing location who is not using this strategy as a course of action.
