Walmart parking lot noise must be stopped! It is not a truck stop, and it should not be used as such especially when located next to homes. Why do cities allow them to do so? Big corporations should follow rules as well. There are rest areas and truck stops on the highway for truckers, where they will not disrupt someone’s sleep. It isn’t until enough people have been affected that they are forced to deny overnight access, as shown in the sign.
Im posting this at 7am after a sleepless night on March 27th 2022. I live next to the store and these refrigerated trucks were running all night. The store & the police were called twice. Nothing was done, perhaps driver was not present. Our house is vibrating from the noise! This is no way to live! Now I have to escalate this with a police report.
Desired outcome: Do not let truckers park there over night. This is not a truck stop, there are homes here. We have a right to sleep and noiseless nights. Other Walmart stores have established a no parking overnight rule. It can be done.

We had same problem just north of you at jewel in naperville. Once I got a hold of corporate they handled it. You can't rely on walmart local management. Remember they have bosses, go to the top. Email and send pictures everyday, send video, attach pictures of the parking lot. It took 5 years getting city to measure noise level, getting police involved to gets surrounding streets with no parking signs ever and Jewel to put up towing signs everywhere. No trucker wants to risk his truck being towed with cargo on it and paying minimum $700 dollars to get it back. We had an idiot who resorted to parking in a field. I contacted the owner and they put a no trespassing you will get sued sign. What took the cake is the refrigerated truck who parked outside our home and then proceeded to leave in a car while we had to listen to it all night. Sent video to naperville council, got signs up within 3 weeks. I guarantee, most of those truckers parked over there live in your area (are some of your neighbors). Ironic, I own a trucking company and it disturbs me that we pay for trucking and they make enough to do the same. There is no shortage of goods that need to be moved. Also funny, my spouse took video last summer of the walmart parking lot in plainfield with all the trucks, the reason being all of them got tickets. Wish channel 5 could have aired it. It really showed how truly big the problem is. THere were so many trucks and the potholes in that parking lot are horrendous.
