Unfortunately Accredo is the only specialty pharmacy around who distributes my chronically ill daughters medication (Stelara). On multiple occasions throughout the years of dealing with Accredo and Express Scripts, I have spent hours upon hours fighting with them on the phone to release and ship my daughters medication on time to no avail. They constantly gave me the runaround and made it impossible to receive her medication on time, preventing my daughter from taking her medication weeks past her injection due date, and putting my daughter in extreme danger of getting sick and ending up in the Hospital. It came to the point one year that I was told by my daughters Doctor to get in touch with Governor Baker's office to form a complaint against Accredo and Express Scripts. Recently, Accredo denied my daughters prescription again resulting in a 3 week over due injection date where I had to call multiple times getting pushed off to someone else who just gave me the run around. First they told me that my insurance refused to pay then they told me, because I have multiple insurance coverage, I had to choose a primary and secondary for them to accept payment for the prescription which I straitened out but then they told me that I had to pair both insurances together. After that they proceeded to tell me that they couldn't send out her medication because I needed to contact her Doctor and have them send out a referral to the insurance company which I also did but they still withheld her medication because they screwed up and gave me the wrong information telling me that instead of the referral going to the insurance it had to go to Express Scripts. So after calling the Doctor back and asking to have the referral sent to Express Scripts, Accredo calls me and says that they made a mistake and that I didn't need a referral, in fact, the secondary insurance would pay. I asked the person calling from Accredo, since the insurance was going to pay, my daughter could have gotten her medication on the date that her injection was due? Her reply was "yes" they made an error. The end result was 3 weeks of fighting on the phone for hours calling insurance companies, Doctors office, Accredo, and Express Scripts all because they illegally withheld my daughters prescription by telling me that they made a mistake.
Desired outcome: My desired outcome would be for Accredo to go out of business and let a more competent specialty Pharmacy take over or to hire more competent employees who know how to do their job right.
