My name is Christal Crites. I work at Store 2272 in Cambridge MD. I have worked with Walmart for over 25 years mostly in DSD. We always had two in DSD here. Jen works the 4am to 1pm shift for Vendors. I worked 8am to 2pm for FEDEX, UPS, Mail, and other trucks. The earliest I had a delivery was 10am. I spent the first two hours usually cleaning. I had worked this shift for two years.
On or about April 13, 2021 I was called into the office with manager Yvette and HR Chrissy. I was told because I couldn't work 4 to 1 I had to leave my position. I already had to find "busy" work for 2 hours, now it is cost productive for me to fiddle another 2 hours? Jen has always said she didn't need anyone there that early. Then she would not have enough to do. Sounds like they didn't need two people right? Was told our Asset Protection MJ was supposed to talk to me about this but didn't. MJ just recently quit along with another coach and teamleads. I was told I had to take another position on the floor to keep a job. They forced me into Apparel on the computer that day. Was to begin that position three weeks later. This is JUNE 4 and there has been NO replacement for my position. Seems as though the position has been terminated. Where is my Severance Package? This was a BLANTANT, UNDERHANDED way to get me out without getting what I am entitled to. No wonder MJ wouldn't talk to me about this mess. She knew it was underhanded. Also, that is a LIE that there is only a 4-1 shift in DSD. I have contacted other stores and when there is two they do not usually work the same shift. I am not disputing the fact that we didn't need two full time people. It is the unethical way Management went about it. I really want this to be checked into and investigated. I honestly feel I was cheated out of a Severance Package.
I broke my knee cap on April 29. I have another Doctor appointment on June 21 and expect to be released to go back to work. I would like to have this settled by then. I will not tolerate going back to work and being harassed or bullied again. That will be unacceptable. I am 70 years old. Unfortunately in these times not all senior citizens can retire. Walmart really needs to take up and take care of this growing population of the workforce. It is bad enough that a new person coming in makes almost the same pay as I do after over 25 years of service.
Sorry this is so long. Thank you for listening to my venting. I just really need to get it out. I have been upset for almost 2 months and just need to be heard and hopefully some action taken.

Desired outcome: I would like to be offered a Severance Package. At least advise Management that this type of action is not Walmart values. Walmart should stand up for it's Associates.
