I am a pharmacist in Louisville, MS also at Tabor Drugs. Walgreens which is right across the street was closing as of 2/21/23. We had several customers come in or call and want to switch their medication. There are two pharmacists that mainly work there. Frank "Trip" Smith (the store manager) and Dennis Reves. Dennis was very helpful and sent the transfers in a timely manner. Frank "Trip", however, would refuse to answer the phone when he saw it was our store calling. He also refused to send any transfers unless we finally got him on the phone (by calling from our cell phones) and pressed him. He told my employee that he "only faxed transfers once daily." When Dennis worked, we received multiple (over 50 transfers) a day. When Frank "Trip" worked, we would receive none. I believe as a store manager he should have exhibited a more professional attitude. This only hurt the customer who could not get any of their meds until Dennis came back to work to actually transfer them.
This is not the first encounter we have had with Frank Smith. When my husband and I bought the store in 2019, he also refused to send transfers. One incident in particular, I had to walk to the store to actually get the transfer because he refused to answer the phone. I feel like upper management should be aware of the unprofessional individual (Frank Smith) you have managing Walgreens' stores. I have NEVER in my 15 year pharmacy career had a pharmacist refuse transfers until I dealt with Frank "Trip" Smith. Thank you for your consideration.
