On Thursday, June 15, 2023 I scheduled an appointment with Meineke because my air conditioner was not blowing cold air out of driver side vent. All the other vents were working fine. I dropped the car off at 8 am and the advisor said it was probably the Actuator. I received a call around 12 pm that my repair cost would be around $1900 because it wasn’t the Actuator but some other problem. I declined service and the advisor said they could do it for $1500. I declined again and went to pick up my vehicle. The estimate on the invoice they gave me showed a total price of $1340.18 of declined services which included the Actuator and a cabin air filter. On Monday, June 19, 2023, I took the car to the Toyota dealership for my routine oil change and ask them to look into the problem with my air conditioner. They performed a system evacuate recharge test and added leak detection dye along with a visual inspection. They determined that the A/C refrigerant was low. When it was filled to the proper pressure, everything worked perfectly for a grand total of $127.37. Meineke tried to rip me off with unnecessary charges and need to be exposed for unrighteous and unethical character! Plus they wasted four hours of my day, as I have a very busy schedule.
Desired outcome: Just that others beware of their false practices
