I am originally from LA and know what Popeye's chicken and fixins should taste like. I am 65 years old. The Popeye's on North Tryon is the worst and most ghetto store I have ever visited and should be shut down. It has the most ghetto and unprofessional 3 employees working the store. I was the only person in the drive thru, but still had to wait 5 minutes for the "Manager" to answer the call button for my order, which was paused in the middle of the transaction for a couple of minutes before she came back on to complete my order. I now realize it was to discipline her children who had taken up residence in the dining area during her shift. She just left me sitting at the window. I had to ask for my total owed. She asked me to drive to the next window for my order where I waited for the next 10 minutes so that she could instruct the cashier how to work the register to give me change from a $20 bill for a $14 order. Then was asked to pull over to the side so that she could bring my order to me. There was no one in the restaurant except for her kids. My order was nothing special... a simple #1 combo chicken sandwich w/fries, tea and 2 apples pies. It certainly was not a 30-minute order. A vehicle-carrying tow truck in back of me...the only other customer...was asked to do the same thing. WHAAT? There were no customers inside...only the 'managers'" children in the dining area, which she focused on more than her customers. I guess it's her daycare, as well. After waiting 10 minutes on the side, I backed my car back up to the drive thru window and asked about my order. she then went to the kitchen where my order had been sitting. I told her the service was unacceptable, and instead of addressing the situation, she gave me a very old, dried out order of food. It seemed to have a half order of small fries, a very hard sandwich and over-fried apple pies. She shut the drive-thru window in my face as she cussed me out. I'll never go there again and This franchise is a waste of space and will not generate any revenue,
