8/21/2015 7:15 PM- driving from my mother's house going down a hill and coasting back up to a stop sign at the end of the road, I pushed my brakes and the pedal went to the floor and the car did not slow any. I began to pump the brakes and the car slowed somewhat but did not stop. I ran the stop sign and passed of two lanes of traffic, thankfully did not hit anyone else or get hit by on coming traffic, but I landed in the opposing wooded area across from the stop sign and hit a tree on the front passenger side and trees down the driver's side were crushed in. My son and my boyfriend's son were with me ages 7 and 5. My son that was behind me on the driver's side his door was completely crushed in and I could not open it. None of the airbags deployed. The state trooper on scene stated that my black marks on the road were intermittent and I had only slowed to about 35 mph, but he stated that it looks as if my brakes were not working properly. I informed him that I had to repeatedly pump the brakes and they went down to the floor each time. My car was deemed totaled by my insurance adjuster from farm bureau. This accident could have been extremely fatal if I was hit by on coming traffic one of my kids could have been killed or I could have been.
