I was at 10PM to buy a turkey for Thanksgiving Dinner. There was a small tag saying "Save $8.00" on whole turkey with "KrogerPlus Card", valid through Sunday, Nov 29, 09. So, I picked one turkey and went to an express cashier machine. It did not give me the discount it claimed right before I swiped my credit card. One of employees said "you need to buy $10 worth grocery." I said to them, it's not on the discount slip that I need to purchase $10 worth other groceries. She said that Kroger goes by the advertisement brochure, and she was trying to baby me that I don't know about the Kroger procedure is, and all. So, I go back and grabbed a bottle of wine which is priced more than $10. I went back to the cashier, and she said "No, alcohol does not count." So, again I said where does it say that alcohol purchase was excluded from the $10? She said that it does not say that anywhere, but "Kroger Procedure" exclude the alcohol purchase from the discount. At 10PM, am I supposed to learn how Kroger runs the business? I sometimes bump into the service providers who do not realize who are the real boss (customers). Kroger just sees people as a way of making money from! Let's them know who are the REAL BOSS! There are other stores like Meijer, Wal-Mart, and other local stores who will treat us more polite and courteous. No more Krogers, please. I refuse to shop at Krogers.

I meant to say 10/ $10. Which is still a . 41 cent increase over regular price. It' pathetic and I feel it rather diabolic. In this community we have no other choice but City Market (Kroger) or the walmart on the edge of town. I cant wait to start growin my own veggies and not have to visit these companies...every week.
What angers me the most is before a sale, they will raise the price of the item then unleash it on the public as "on sale" where you actually spend more on the item. Perfect example...store brand quart of bottled water I have bought many times for .59. Wow it's on sale now 10/$1. People bought them out. The 'new' regular price it showed was $1.69 WTF?
Yeah good luck with that you think kroger is bad wal mat is the worse! Them and giant eagle I've have issues with constantly. Don't know about meijers though. Hopefully they turn out better
I went to the Kroger store at Glendale and Reynold in Toledo on their 1 day Kellogg, Keebler and Sunshine 1/2 price sale. It was told to me by the Customer Service Complaint 800 # in the headquarters that each Store Manager has the right to accept or decline coupons and to set policy in regards to coupons. The reason I contacted them was I tried to use a coupon at face value in conjunction with the sale and was refused. Customer service credited the $1.50 to my plus card.
Today I went into the store and the cereal prices had been lowered from $4.29 per box to $3.29 per box which was the price before the 1 day sale. I guess they think shoppers are stupid and don't know what they are paying. I will go to Meijer or WalMart in the future and NOT PLAY Kroger price games.
