On 6/9/2023 I purchased several items in the Home Depot garden center at 6850 S Fry Road @ 99, Katy, TX 77494. The Home Depot employee at the check-out in the garden center said they were having problems with their card payment “equipment”. So he took my credit card and manually completed the purchase using the card. I didn’t watch his every movement, since I had no reason to suspect him. About an hour later, I was at a restaurant a few miles away and presented the same credit card for payment. But it was denied!
I contacted my credit card company, and they told me there was “suspicious” activity on my card AT HOME DEPOT! And they had blocked the card from further purchases. I have been using this card for 3+ years and have a large number of accounts being paid by this card. So, it took hours to contact the companies/service providers that were being paid by my card to use another card instead. Also, the staff at this store was no help… they said the manager was not available, and simply gave me the manager’s card and signed it “Dynique” (no last name). And the email address on the manager’s card ([protected]@homedepot.com) is invalid!
Desired outcome: Investigation by Home Depot and appropriate disciplinary and/or legal action against Home Depot employees... with proof that such action has actually been taken!
Home Depot - Dishonest customer service/failure to deliver product
I would give zero stars but I am forced to at least select one.
I purchased a refrigerator on Black Friday 2020. It was never delivered. I called in January 2021 and asked about delivery. The rep in major appliances basically blamed the late delivery on Covid. He spoke to me as if I were a bothersome woman that was wasting his time for having the nerve to question the delivery of a nearly $3000 purchase. He said the new delivery would be March 9.
On March 8, I called HomeDepot's appliance number because I did not want to talk to "Mr Helpful" again. I was told that Home Depot had a system wide mess up on Black Friday and that my order had fallen through the cracks. The gentleman told me I would have to cancel my order and then reorder. I mentioned that the fridge had risen significantly in price. He assured me he would match the price and give me an additional $150 off for my trouble. I said I could not afford to purchase the item again until I saw the credit to my card. He said I could call back anytime and receive the price match and promised discount.
On March 22, I called again because my order showed no changes. The representative assured me he would cancel and reiterated the original rep's promise of a price match and additional $150 off.
On March 26, I finally saw a credit for the purchase made in Nov 2020, (Yes, 4 months after an order that was never completed. I basically gave Home Depot a 4 month interest free loan. I purchased in good faith and Home Depot failed to deliver and frankly did not care.)
After seeing the credit, I naively called to repurchase. After several hours on the phone, home depot REFUSES to follow through on their promises. The refrigerator has jumped over $1000 since I purchased it on Black Friday. I purchased in good faith, home depot failed to deliver, and they continue to screw me over. The last person I spoke with acted as if she were doing me a favor by offering $500 off the current price. She said the manager at the Cinco Ranch Home Depot could not follow through on the promises made because it would hurt his bottom line. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? All I wanted was the refrigerator I purchased on Black Friday.
Shame on me for trusting Home Depot. Shame on me for ever stepping foot in this lying, thieving establishment.
Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this store.
Desired outcome: I would like to purchase my refrigerator at the price promised. I would also like an apology for the abysmal way I have been treated.
Home Depot - Service
I wanted to purchase a couple of fans for my house today at the local home depot located at Fry Road and Grand Parkway in Katy Texas. I went to the lights and fan section and could not find any salesperson; I asked the service desk if they could page someone to assist me. I waited for a while, and finally, someone showed up at the fan section. I explained that one of my fans stopped working & I am looking for capacitors for the ceiling fans. He responded that Home Depot does not sell parts to fix fans store only sells fans. I asked him if he could show me some of the fans for small rooms and outdoor patio. He responded by pointing towards fans, and I could pick whichever fan I want because all of these fans are good and left the aisle. I ran after him and asked him if he could show me the mounting brackets for the fan, and he said that those would be in the electric section and left me.
I went to the electric section and saw a salesman, so I asked him if he knows where I could find the fan mounting brackets. He responded that he was not sure if home depot sells mounting brackets, and if home depot does sell it should be in the fan aisle. I explained that the previous salesperson sent me to this aisle. I told him that there are thousands of items in the store; I did not expect him to know every one of them but at least have the courtesy to say that you don't know and you will find someone who could help me. He responded, " Don't you see I am with a customer and get out of my store" his name is Victor.
I found another salesperson by the name of Ihab and asked the same question his response was no different than the previous salesperson. It should be with the ceiling fans and left.
Later I asked for the manager, and someone by the name of Denise came to see me. I explained the whole situation to her she apologized to me.
I left the store without buying anything and was upset about the whole ordeal. I have been shopping at this store for over a decade and never had an unpleasant experience like I have today.
