I am long time Walgreens customer, today I had the worst customer service experience of my life. I went to buy things for stockings for my kids and to use a coupon I got to have $6 off if I spent $25. I bought $50 stuff and as the card was going through I realized that I forgot to us my $6 off coupon. I right away said to the teller that sorry I forgot to use my coupon but I would like to use it with my this transaction. She said that I will need to return everything and buy it but manager will need to do this. She called the manager and asked me to wait on another counter. Manager was helping someone else but he left that customer and came over to help me. I told him about my situation and what I wanted to do. He flat out told me that I cannot return the items and that I'll to need to use the coupon next time that expires on 2/19/20 and I need to spend $25 in order to get the $6 off. I told him that I want to return the items and buy it back. He started getting things out and then goes to tell me that I cannot return food items. I told him that I never in the past had issues returning things back and he says "it's the law". I said that I just bought this 2 minutes ago and I haven't even left so I don't understand it. I told him I be fine if he told me food items cannot be returned if I had come back to return it but I didn't even leave. Even though I only had about $ 10 food items and rest was other stuff but he focused on the food items. I felt he was making excuses and didn't want to return the items. Then the other customer came up and said if he could finish helping her, he leaves me to help her and leaves me with another new employee who doesn't know what to do and says sorry. He comes back to the counter with other customer and says to me I'll help as soon I am done with them. I was saying something and the other customer gets upset and says to me, "move over". Now I end up having a conflict with this other customer but he stood there still. At this point I am more upset and crying, he never acknowledges it. He returns $26 items and gives me cash. Then I buy the items again but it is not enough and it won't take the coupon. He returns $2.43 items, I buy it again and finally coupon is accepted but I see no difference in my total. Then he goes on to tell me that I can't use the coupon for this purchase as it will cancel but now it's on my card and I use it next time. I was not very happy since I wasted so long for all this and in the end I got nothing except emotional distress and humiliation. This was the worst experience of my life, I will never go to this Walgreens Ever. Hopefully someone will review this complaint and take strict action!
