On august 5, 2021 at 12:59 pm I purchased a john deere riding lawn mower at the yakima home depot. There was only one mower in the size I bought. There is a shortage of mowers in the yakima area and I was in desperate need of a mower as my old one had stopped functioning. The clerk that sold the mower to me was named anna and she was very helpful and extremely nice. The store manager, whose name I was not told, was also there and answered some different questions and helped anna with some of the paperwork. He also was very informative and helpful and was extremely nice. After all paperwork was completed I expressed my concern to anna that since the mower was on display that someone else might try to get it and she assured me that a "sold" sticker would be placed on the mower so that would not happen. Anna walked out to the mower at the very same time that I was walking out of the store and I saw her place the sold sticker on the mower so I left confident that it would be delivered at a later time as I had paid extra for that service. I was given a delivery date to be the following friday on 8/13/21. On the morning of 8/13/21 I received a phone call at approximately 8 am to say that the mower had been sold to someone else. The lady who called said that another employee sold the same mower to another party "after" it had already been sold to me and that they already delivered it to that other person. This was devastating to me as I do not have any other way of mowing my 2 acre place and the grass was growing out of control. I am 70 years old and I needed this riding lawn mower desperately. I have tried to find and purchase another lawn mower in yakima but there are none to be found for at least 1 to 3 more months. I think what home depot allowed to happen is completely horrendous. I'm sure they didn't even care enough to punish the other employee who sold the mower - after - the sold sign had been put on the mower. It was uncalled for. If that other employee can't read a sign then they shouldn't even be allowed to work there. I know losing one customer does not concern home depot in any way but you have in fact lost a customer. I also had plans to buy two other major items from your store a refrigerator and a trailer for transporting big items. I will now go to lowes or somewhere else. I hate your store for what they did to me.
Desired outcome: THAT HOME DEPOT WOULD SOMEHOW GO OUT OF BUSINESS
