Let me start by saying I LOVE WALGREEN'S or at least I did mostly! I shop at many different Walgreen locations (spending over $1000 per month) without problems that was until I visited the recently converted Rite aid's within an hour from my home.
My first experience at the Ravenswood location was 2/20 during the grand opening. I wasn't familiar with Walgreens therefore I had trouble checking out. The trainer was super rude and mean to me. I left crying and was so upset that I called corporate to file a complaint! I was assured that my complaint would be sent straight to the store manager (because I didn't want to make matters worse) Well the next day the "trainer called my personal cell phone". When I asked why he had contacted me his response was: "the store manager told him to" This call went on for about ten minutes which consisted of me crying my eyes out again! After hanging up I called customer service and reported the issue and swore I would never go back! I was assured that a district manager would call me to discuss the situation; needless to say, he did NOT! So, I just gave up trying to resolve the matter and never went back to the store!
I went to visit a friend in the Ravenswood WV area, so I decided to give this Walgreens location another try. Tonight, was horrible! Upon entering the store, I noticed the cashier went and spoke with what seemed like a manager, but I shrugged it off. I asked where the sale flyers were located, and they directed me to them; sadly, they were next week's flyer (which I didn't notice) and began shopping off it. I had a question about a sale and approached the cashier which had me wait on the manager; this also seemed weird but again I paid it no mind. Finally, the manager realized that I had be given the wrong flyer; this meant everything I had been shopping for had to be put back because it was not on sale. I continued shopping; getting everything I needed and made my way to check out. As I was unloading my cart to the counter the cashier said we needed to wait on the manager to come help. This is not common procedure at Walgreens, but I didn't mind. At this location's Grand Opening (2/20) they had given me a flyer which was for 30% store wide on all merchandise; which was valid until 4/25/20. Upon scanning all my items, I handed my cashier this coupon. It only took 6.06 off of a $276.xx purchase. This was clearly wrong, so I asked for the transaction to be fixed. (Back in February, this same did the same thing and they manually override it.) The manager's response to my request was "she had already spoken to the main store manager when I entered and told her who I was, and the store manager said not to override anything. This blew my mind; how did they know who I was since I had only visited this location one time and again that was in February? I explained to her that they were aware that the 30% off was giving problems and had to be fixed (the cashier even remembered this flyer and admitted it was 30% off ALL merchandise. The manager then placed another call to the store manager (my adult children said they saw her place the call on her cell phone) She came back and told me the store manager said it was whatever it scanned and if I didn't agree then I could come talk to her tomorrow. Now, this location is over an hour from my home and after I spent nearly 2 hours shopping and trying to check out; I'm being told that I must wait until tomorrow. I just risked my health, wasted my time, and gas all for nothing; just because they do not want to honor a flyer, they gave me! I walked out empty handed and now will have to make another trip up there tomorrow only to have to deal with the same problem! I filed a complaint with customer service who informed me that the district manager would be contacting me; however, I'm not expecting that to happen since it didn't happen last time!
I feel this was retribution for the claimant, I filed against her in February. As the customer service representative explained to me, "our employees are not allowed to find retribution against a consumer who filed a complaint." Also, I feel the district manager needs to follow up on consumer complaints. If the store manager is treating me this way; then how many other consumers is she doing this to? In addition, I feel likt this is borderline harassment and quite possibly discrimination!
I have also filed a complaint with Walgreens customer service and the BBB! I am filing this on mutliple location with hopes that between this issue will be addressed and corrected!

Not discreditig this story but the first paragraph you say you spend $1000.00 a month there, the next you say you are not familiar with Walgreens...

I would bet $1000.00 that the coupon was for 30% off regular priced items. They have those all the time.
Boo hoo, sounds like you had it coming to you. Also you obviously do not know the meaning of the word "discrimination"
