Vanderbilt Mortgage And Finance [VMF] Beware!

I have had leeks in my walls when it rains. Now my walls are caving in. I had this problem soon after it was set up. They could not find the problem. I had to replace front door frame. My husband and I bought it new had it financed 15years .he lost his job 8 years ago so we got 3 months behind they told us to move out. So we borrowed money from friends then I started to make the 316.00 monthly payment on my 6.00hr job. I tried to get them to refinance to make payments cheaper they said than they don't do refinance. Now 3 years ago I got a divorce and kept the home. 2 years ago I had two heart attack had to have surgery could not work I got 2 months behind they sent a man to my house to take pitchers so they could sell my home. My family took turns paying for my home until I got my disability. I make 700.00 month I still struggle to make 316.00 payment they still want refinance it. my car broke down it had to be fixed so that put me 1and a half month be hind so I would send them 10 to 30$ extra a month .they are very rude on the phone the keep calling to tell me that they are going to take my home they sent a man again to take pitchers so the could sell my home because the say I owe 400.00 back pay. Now the say that I don't make enough money to keep my home that they will have to take it I only owe 4 years on it.

Vanderbilt Mortgage And Finance [VMF] Terrible experience

Our payments have been drafted from our account biweekly for ten years now and have never been returned. Last month my husband was laid off from work temporarily and I contacted VMF to inform them of this and that the money would probably not be in there when they went to draft the payment until he returned to work. 'Norman' told me that as long as I let them know what was going on they would work with me and advised me to put a stop payment on that amount they draft until he went back to work and I could mail in my payments until everything got worked out and we started receiving unemployment checks.

I kept contacting him and informing him of what was going on and then one day I received a phone call from 'Jeanie Myers' wanting to know what the problem was and when we were going to make the payment. She said Norman turned the account over to her because it was so delinquent (a week and a half late) and she was trying to collect the payment. I explained the situation to her and told her what Norman told me to do and she demanded to know when we would be getting unemployment checks and I explained to her that I had no idea because we had never been through this and we couldn't even call to claim a check until three weeks after he was laid off.

Two weeks after the initially speaking to Norman I contacted VMF and told them I was mailing them a payment and they told me I had to send it Western Union which I found out costs around $20 so I dropped the payment in the mail that day.

I just got a phone call from 'Jeanie' wanting to know if I sent the payment Western Union and I informed her I did not because it costs $20 and right now we couldn't afford any extra expenses such as that. She then raised her voice with me and said that is the price that I have to pay when my payments get so far behind and if she did not recieve the check by this coming Friday she would proceed with foreclosure (although the payment still is not even 30 days late!). She then proceeded to tell me that she 'specifically told me NOT to mail it and to overnight it or Western Union it'. I explained to her once again that my husband just returned to work today and things would be caught up in a few weeks, but that did not matter because she kept threatening with foreclosure on Friday if she did not have a payment.

After hanging up with her I made an online payment to catch up the payment and we are looking into to refinancing at a REAL BANK. Be aware of these people. If you speak to one person and they tell you one thing apparently it doesn't matter and each individual can make their own rules and time limits. This Jeanie lady was extremely rude. I used to work in collections at a bank years ago and I NEVER spoke to customers the way she spoke to me. We were never allowed to raise our voice no matter how delinquent accounts were. I think VMF needs to re-train their employees or hire more professional ones.

Unemployed, they could no longer afford to pay a mortgage. The payments have to be about 60 days late or later than that for urgent action to be discussed. I think she should have called a lawyer to discuss the situation with him or her. It's better to call the company office to discuss a stop payment instead of just trusting that someone in their employ will do that as a courtesy if they have said that they will (obviously, he may not have done so).

Vanderbilt Mortgage And Finance [VMF] Fraud and scam

I purchased a home from Clayton Homes in 2000. I was 19 years old at the time and newly married. When I went to Clayton Homes I specifically asked for a Land/Home package. They had none. Instead, they showed me brand new homes with tons of 'amenities', including a 'free trip to the Bahamas with every new purchase'. Ha, what a crock. I told them I was interested and they set to work.

My grandfather was leary about the deal and called them to tell them I reconsidered. They called my house and had me in tears as they talked about how I had 'misled them, and how they worked so hard to get me in a new home and now I wasn't interested and how I had really done them wrong.' I am a people pleaser by nature so this really upset me. I told them yes I'd take the home. I DID NOT get my free trip, first of all.

Second, I was told I would have monthly mortgage payments due on the 1st and the 15th of each month, (to make it less expensive this put my payments at 277.00/mth). Apparently this is not how it works. When I was three months behind in my payments because my money was building up in the bank and they weren't withdrawing any funds, I realized something was wrong, so I called. I was informed that the payments come out every 14 days and I didn't have funds in there on the date it was due because it was three days before the 1st.

So, now I'm 19, have three months of negative credit on my report and I asked for a once a month payment instead. I asked them to set my date in the middle of the month. They refused. My payments went up to 314.00/mth and due on the 1st. The representatives were rude, obnoxious, and I got a new rep every time I called. Then at the end of my three years, I received a new bill for 472.00. This was to be by new payment, with escrow insurance. Escrow insurance?

I had no idea what that was. Apparently when I signed my contract, the nice 'gentlemen' who made me cry didn't explain this, so I got saddled with a exorbitant payment I could no longer afford. No one would buy the home because it was not worth what was owed and I couldn't rent it out for the amount of mortgage I had to pay. Needless to say, I voluntarily surrendered the home when I was 23, it did not show on my credit report until I was 26, and now I'm 28 and couldn't finance a bullet if I purchased the gun.

Vanderbilt Mortgage and Clayton Homes are rip off artists and the 'talent' they have working for them should win the Oscar for most efficient salespeople with no concern for others. Congratulations, Vanderbilt for your greatest achievement ever. SCAMMING.

I purchased a Santafe in 1993, my home was fully paid for by 02/2005. To this day I have NOT been given my lien release and since IKE *** near demolished my home completely my ins. believes they dont have to pay ME but instead they have to pay Vanderbilt Mortgage instead! Of course they get a check and say.. "oh look its pennies from heaven and we dont have to worry about its rightful owners" So now I am without repairs or money to do them due to all of this.. how wonderful!

I suffered for years with Vanderbilt screwing me year after year and now this!

Vanderbilt Mortgage And Finance [VMF] Policy violation

I applied for a loan in September 2008 and a employee at this company disclosed my personal information to a unauthorized individual about my credit report. She had NO business discussing my credit report with NO ONE but chose to do so. I am filing this formal complaint and also I am contacting my attorney for possible suit against the company itself and the employee.

Vanderbilt Mortgage And Finance [VMF] no statements/ no service

We've had our doublewide for three and a half years, paying our payments thru automatic bank drafts. Never been late, never missed a one. My husband got sick, couldn't work for 3 weeks, then was hospitalized for 5 days. We have 2 teen daughters, I'm a stay at home mom, so we got in a really tight spot financially. I called Vanderbilt, (sat on hold FOREVER), finally reached a gentleman and asked if we could extend a payment. Now keep in mind, a payment is only 1/2 an actual monthly payment, because our bank account is drafted every two weeks. After he checked our account, asked all the info, he says he can't help me. I need to talk to his manager. He transfers me, and guess what? I get the dreaded VOICE MAIL! I left her 4 messages. Surprise! Surprise! She never calls me back, and as usual, our bank account gets drafted for the payment.Thank God, the money was there for the payment. I think they SUCK! They could care less about you . And I think they've got it all figured out. They just RECEIVE our money. I have never received a statement in 3 1/2 years. so who knows how much we owe, how it is applied, etc., etc. Sounds like a pretty good job to me, just making bank deposits. Please, please, if you buy a Clayton or Norris home, find yourself some good financing at your local bank. Don't finance with Vanderbilt.

Vanderbilt Mortgage And Finance [VMF] Liars

I have been with them since 02. They just started to send out a statement so we knew where our money was going. Well, they bumped our orig. principle amount up by over $4, 000 and then shows an escrow on my account and 10 days later it gets removed. There is no escrow on this loan. In 6 years I’ve paid in excess of $40, 000 and of that less than $2, 000 has gone to my principle. I can’t take this any more. I want my loan fixed and then refinanced. I use to love my house but it is a money pit. Has fallen apart due to poor workmanship. I no longer even LIKE my house they've made it a home of *** and torture. Any words on how to get out from under Vanderbilt’s foot would be great. I need my loan fixed so I can refinance.

I agree with everyone on this comment board and I am so sorry to hear about all the trouble that you are all having. This is the reason I started my company. I have helped several people that have mortgages with ASC, Countrywide, and other mortgage companies that don't seem to care if they harass people or suck them dry. The comments I have heard are along the lines of trying to get blood from a stone or turnip, or something like that.

Contrary to what some people have said on here, I am not trying to be one of those people I mentioned above. My company is a nationwide company that provides services for people that are at the end of their rope. One of the helpful things that we provide is letting you know, before payment for service, if we can assist you and if we can not. If we can not, we tell you why not and what can be done to allow our company to assist you. Most companies won't do that, but we will also give you the reasons why exactly so that, if you should choose a different service, they will not be able to scam you. Now that's a way of saving money too.

I have a service that actually will take you out of the loop of contact with ASC, or Countrywide or whomever you have servicing your loan. All you have to do is tell me how we can help you. By that I mean, tell us what you are looking for us to do for you and we will pursue the help that you want, no matter what. We have all aspects of the mortgage business covered from being a mortgage mediation company, a title company, a real estate company, all the way to having access to attorneys for litigation or help to avoid foreclosure. No aspect of help is turned away.

Let me tell you, most of the customers that I deal with have told me about the fear and the frustration of working with mortgage companies that don't seem to care or give them the runaround. To be totally fair, mortgage companies have their ways of dealing with people. Some are good, some are horrible. But one thing all mortgage companies love is being vague. When they are vague, they don't have to give you information until you ASK for it. How does that help you? How can you try to save your home if you don't know how to ask the right questions?

That’s another reason why I created this company. I take your number out of their "system". When they mail you something, it goes to me. I take the burden away from you so you can live your life without the phone calls and the letters. And the rudeness! Oh, man, if I told you some of the stories I have heard...let's just say, it’s not pretty.

I know that some people are going to look at this comment and go, this guy is trying to drum up business. Well, you're right. But here's the kicker. I used to work in mortgage collections. I used to make the phone calls and send the letters. I used to work around the people that make your lives hell. And I kept asking myself, why? Why are these people not being told about the help that’s readily available? Why are these people not being helped to make payment arrangements that are realistic? Why does this company care more about the money than about customer service when that is supposed to be their primary objective?

That's why I got out. I can not stand collections. Just because they are hiding behind a company name they think that they can say anything or act anyway they like with the customers, being friendly with one and the next 40-50 they can treat like crap. Where is the customer service?

I take all that frustration away from you and create solutions that work. I know that it may be hard to swallow, but I do. I have done it for several people. And I can do it for you too. If you want more specifics or just want to talk to me, call my office at [protected] and check out the website, which is being updated with a few new options available. And this isn't just for people facing foreclosure, people that are current and want to pay off their home early, call me. I can and will help as many people as I am able to. What have you got to lose? Website address is http://www.onlybusiness.com/members/RealtyMediationService...and if not for you, best of luck. In all your endeavors.

Vanderbilt Mortgage And Finance [VMF] They're calling our neighbours

We're late on our payment & they call our NEIGHBORS & leave our account # & name, trying to get them to have us call back. The only way they could have gotten their #'s is by looking them up online, I assume just by searching for our road name & calling everyone near us. Our neighbours are mad at us that they keep calling, but there's nothing we can do to stop them. Isn't this a breach of confidentiality? I mean, they're harassing our neighbours as much as they are us. We don't have the $$ to pay right now, or we'd call them back! They finally stopped calling my mom because I told her to tell them we didn't live there, she didn't owe them & if they called her again she'd seek legal action for harassment.

Is there anything we can do about this? Anyone else have this kind of experience? On top of this, the double-wide we are paying for is a piece of [censored]! It's got soooo many problems. We'd have been so much better off building ourselves, but were in a hurry to get into a home. SE Homes have extremely poor quality products!

Vanderbelt went as far as to make threts to my children that they would be there that day to pull their house out from under them and they would be sleeping on the ground where their hose once was. Thay actually called my house and told my minor child these things.
How are they getting away with this? HOw long is it gonna tak for someone to stop them?
Our loan as sold to them we did not choose them. Our payments increased by more than $200 a month when they took over the loan.

Vanderbilt Mortgage And Finance [VMF] Beware of them

I left my husband six months ago. He was staying in the mobile home yet Vanderbilt continued to call me every ten days when he was late with the payment. They have called my mom, my brother, and my new number. Now my husband moved left me with the mortgage. Vanderbilt told me I need to come up with almost 1000.00 for the 3 months he was behind or they will take legal action against me. Since he got everything except my sanity I wish they would realize you can not get blood from a stone. No cooperation from them. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

There's a difference between calling and trying to collect, and the illegal ways this company is trying to collect. We all need to pay what we owe, but not to rude, inconsiderate, lying, predators.

What do you expect them to do. say sorry and do not worry about paying your bills! Of course if you do not pay them they will take it, are you paying your other bills, cause your home should be your priority. I love all complaints on here about people crying that they are past due and vanderbilt called them saying to pay. If it was your money you loaned out what would you do? I bet you would be calling to.

Vanderbilt Mortgage And Finance [VMF] They don't stop calling

I have told Lindsay that so and so does not live at this number, yet she still calls me. She leave's rude messages for them to call her when she's not even calling the right number. She needs to stop calling me before I get the law for harassment. How many times do you have to tell someone to stop calling that the person they are looking for doesn't live here. And that you don't even know who they are or how she got my number. I wouldn't be as upset about it as I am if it weren't for her rude messages on my voice mail. Why can't she stop calling.

Vanderbilt Mortgage And Finance [VMF] Scam and fraud!

I too am a current victim of Vanderbilt Mortgage. They have repossessed my home and are trying to sell it tomorrow, the day after X-mas at a 'private sale'. They have been involved in a scam with my park owner who wants me to move out of this park as a retaliation for my non payment of money she tried to illegally bill me for after a court action not awarding her any money for damages sustained in a vandalism case in which my minor Son was implicated and cleared.

Park owner refused my rent payments and hasn't billed me for nine months. No unlawful detainer has ever been filed, but Vanderbuilt has been making little lump sum payments to her for my back rent and tacking it onto my mortgage and raising my payments.

Suddenly Vanderbilt refuses my payments and admittedly is forcing me into a default so they can repossess my home unless I move it out of this park and pay them 6000.00 for back rent which they spent without my knowledge, and provide them a letter from the park owner canceling this illegal 60 day termination she served me with back in April 2007. Time for the class action people so contact me if you want on board. I'm ready to rock.

Paid $45,000 down payment on a $83,000 home and land. Paid 8 years at 10% interest and still owed $39,000. I got very sick had heart surgery and got behind. I called them on the 1st to say I had the money to catch up and was told I now have to pay the “legal” fees so instead of $3000 I had to pay $9600. Needless to say they foreclosed and sold it back to themselves. They are predators. Clayton homes told us they were the only finance company that would finance us but neglected to say they are owned by same company as well as the so called home insurance company they told us we had to use. DO NOT borrow from these con artists!

Around 5 years ago. My husband lost his job. I became sick. Was behind on my mortgage payment. 3000.00 behind. Set up a payment arrangement with Vanderbilt. The day they were going to auction my home of 20 years. I met a guy from Vanderbilt. Got a cashiers check of 3000.00. Caught my mortgage up. After receiving the check of 3000.00 they sold my home out from under us.

Was never late on any payment. The mortgage was paid to 40%. Just a few years it would had been paid off. I’m broken and depressed. We raised our babies there.

If you qualify for one of these loans you might qualify for an FHA or HUD loan. I have an almost 700 credit score and between my spouse and I we make around $50,000 a yr. They said they would give me a loan for right under $60,000 for 25 years at $821 a month. The principal and interest alone was going to be almost $600 a month. And I will pay almost $200,000 for a 60,000 loan. Plus they want me to put down 7000. The interest rates are absurd. I talked to someone at the USDA office who told me my credit was much better than what vmf pulled and I qualify for a regular home loan. I can get a home loan for around $150, 000 same damn payments of 821 a month. So if I decided to go with them it would be 8:21 a month for 25 years which equals almost $300,000. Go elsewhere. I sure am.

I agree with all of you as well this is a suck [censor] company... I need to sell my beautiful home I have spent the last for years taken the best of care of it but I bought a small one I need a bigger place and I need to move to another state because my family was got bigger I got married and my new husband need to be more close to some of his family... vfm will do everything to find ways to keep you from selling they want that high interest money they want the land that was used as a down payment the want everything they can take from you... I had so many buyers tell me how beautiful my home was/is the appraisal came in great the inspection passed everything in on a wonderful note.. until came down to the new buyer leander and said vanderbuilt morg... wont let us d-title from a car to a home... now get this I get taxed restate for my home and they only why to fix the title is to pay it off first... vfm knows no company will pay off first they refuse to give me a copy of the title for the buyers lender so I can sell... they keep saying I have to stay and pay them first after I was on the phone with for over 3 hour... a few day later they sent someone down to my to take picyures my husband called me and told me that someone was there... I drove home as fast I could I ask who they where when they said vfm I ask why are you here they said they where going to fc on me because I was trying sell.. my payment have made and you are tresspassing... they kept taking pictures... I asked him to get off my property before I call the cops he said call them I can come here and go inside if I want too... I laugh so I opened the gate boots was waiting for him to cross that line she made in her mind he ran to his car while called the cops... they were laughing so hard when they got there they kinda felt sorry for him... they told him that you dont mess with people in the south... I told the cops everything what they were trying to do and I was paid up always on my payments but they were trying scam me I even showed my paper work... he tried to lie about it but the cops knew... he wanted the carma so I gave the camra without film... and he finily left I call vfm and belive me these sob are the sorryest pics of [censor] company ever I hope this company rots in heck they wont even give a copy of the title trying to stop the sell and thats illegal I have rights... but its not over the buyers lender is not going to give up to easy underwriters are working hard to make this sell happen... god is good all the time in the name jesus thow shall be done

I got this loan it will be 3 years in July 2017. I make 725.00 a month and based on that they could not get me approved. He called back a few hours later and told me that it was approved. He worked the numbers. He worked them alright he put down i made 900.00 a month and not what i really made. They set people up to get in the homes and fail. so they can take the home back. I wont go into long details. But anyone who is having issues can call me. I found a Law firm that is trying to g a class A law suit on them.
[protected] ask for Jackie And also here is the link to get a hold of the law firm who is doing this. We need to expose this company for what they really are. https://www.mahanyertl.com/2016/investigation-clayton-homes-vanderbilt-mortgage-21st-mortgage/

i am too a pissed consumer and a victim of fraudulent loan harassing phone calls, misconduct and bad language illegal collection practices of none other than Vanderbilt mortgage and finance. i have seen several lawsuits filed against them and won . i have also stumbled across where they where fined by NC commissioner of banks for fraudulent loans ans service contracts. it seem factual that even though the very same thing they get sued for over and over again they just brush it off and keep doing the same illegal things . i fount a law suit where they where sued for charging customers for axles and wheel of mobile homes and customers not actually possessing these items ... i am one of those customers and i closed in 2012 on a existing home already set up on land by the way the Mobile home dealer which was acting in part as a Realtor got a kick back for selling the home which is all illegal. i did not purchase or get wheels or axles for this home. also after further investigation in my contract i signed a hud/fha agreement .. my loan is a conventional loan and isn't insured by those agencies why they had me sign that good question right ? also by my loan not being insured by those agencies they have to apply any partial payment to a outstanding balance according to the NC commissioners of bankers and NC consumer law. i also fount a website for whisleblowers or insiders http://www.mahanyertl.com/2016/investigation-clayton-homes-vanderbilt-mortgage-21st-mortgage/ they also would like to hear customer issues you have to tell them its about Vanderbilt mortgage and finance yall should check it out . this company needs to be shut down btw my past due amount was only 265 ant acc and they have 467.00 in my partial payment acc and they have refused to use the money in partial payment acc towards past due balance which shouldn't be past due . i have asked them to use this money for several months now which keeps pileing on late fees and and gamount past due goes up . any body else have this issue ?

Yep, me too. Was told they will not accept partial payments but instead, put that money into a separate account. When they call me, they demand that I tell them if my other bills are being paid. At first, I complied. Then, my husband would talk them, they didn't like that. I would not recommend Vanderbilt to anyone. I know I'm obligated to repay a loan but I feel like they are crossing the lines when they feel the need to ask about my personal business that, in my opinion, is none of their business.
