The worst customer service we have ever experienced from a credit union or bank
The worst customer service we have ever experienced from a credit union or bank. They don't seem to care about their customers at all. We had a problem with our account and when we called to get help, they were rude and unhelpful. It's like they didn't want to deal with us. We ended up having to go into the branch to get our issue resolved, and even then, it took forever for them to figure out what was going on. It was a complete waste of our time. We will definitely be taking our business elsewhere.
This credit union is a joke
This credit union is a joke. In these times, they continue to assess charges without warrant for things that are not even legal. I'm am over Vantage West, all they are is thieves who don't want to support local or assist during COVID. I would never bank here again and would shy anyone away who wants to do business here.
I don't get this credit union's tactics
I don't get this credit union's tactics. They say they're offering "COVID-19" relief and help, but then they won't let you skip a payment or waive late fees when you don't have the money to pay. I missed a credit card payment and they locked my whole account. They wouldn't let me use my debit card or transfer money out of my account. This led to me having my phone and utilities shut off and all they had to say (in regards to "COVID relief") was "when you pay the past due balance, we can unlock the account." This is EXTORTION and I'm pretty sure that's illegal. Also, they were charging me a percentage of every check I deposited that wasn't direct deposit. Almost like they wanna have everything automated so they ain't looking to create jobs or keep the ones they got. I lost my job and haven't had an income since February. We were living off the balance that was left in this account in hopes of finding work somewhere. 'Cause I wasn't depositing checks every month, they started charging me $12 just to have the account open. It makes no sense. If you got no money in your account, we gonna charge you money. But don't worry, they offer relief during this whole situation.
I ain't never worked with a company that don't care 'bout their customers
I ain't never worked with a company that don't care 'bout their customers. Seriously, go somewhere else! Anywhere gotta be better than Vantage West Credit Union! So, I opened a HELOC with Vantage West in March and paid it off in April . But guess what? I'm stuck with 'em 'til next year. Every time I logged into my account, my HELOC showed a balance of $0. Well, when me and my hubby tried refinancing our mortgage earlier this year, my credit got an alert 'cause of a report by Vantage West Credit Union. Turns out, I owed 'em a fee of $0.89 on my HELOC. But here's the kicker, they never told me 'bout it! And those confusing statements they sent me don't count. The ending balance always said $0. Can you believe it? Vantage West went ahead and reported me to the credit bureau, messin' up my credit. They never called, sent me a letter, or even emailed me to let me know I had to pay the fee or they'd report me. Now, I can't go back in time and I'm goin' through hell tryin' to dispute this mess. I'm 41 years old and always had good credit. I don't deserve this, and Vantage West won't do nothin' 'bout it. I regret ever workin' with 'em. If you're thinkin' 'bout openin' an account with Vantage West, don't even think twice. Learn from my mistake and DON'T DO IT!

I recently joined Vantage West Credit Union and I gotta say, it's been a pretty good experience so far
I recently joined Vantage West Credit Union and I gotta say, it's been a pretty good experience so far. The website is easy to navigate and I had no problems signing up for an account. The staff at the branch I visited were friendly and helpful, which is always a plus.
One thing I really like about Vantage West is their mobile app. It's super convenient and allows me to check my balance, transfer money, and even deposit checks right from my phone. It saves me a lot of time and hassle.
I also appreciate that Vantage West offers a variety of services. They have different types of checking and savings accounts to choose from, as well as loans and credit cards. It's nice to have everything in one place.
The only issue I've had so far is with their customer service over the phone. I had to wait on hold for a while before speaking to someone, and when I finally did, they weren't able to fully answer my question. It was a bit frustrating, but hopefully, it was just a one-time thing.
Overall, I'm happy with my decision to join Vantage West Credit Union. They have a user-friendly website, a convenient mobile app, and a range of services to meet my financial needs. I would recommend giving them a try if you're in the market for a new banking option.
With these COVID times, the public depends more on ATM availability
With these COVID times, the public depends more on ATM availability. The location at 3125 E Valencia Rd, Tucson, AZ 85706, ALWAYS has something wrong with the ATM machine at either the drive-through or walk-up ATM. If you're really lucky, both of them will be down like they were today, 8/10.
Terrible company, HOA allows payment through this company only
Terrible company, HOA allows payment through this company only. I set up auto pay and payments were always late. Scheduled auto pay earlier, they stopped paying the auto pay entirely. NOW: Automatic payment not paid. Customer service does not know why. Many other similar incidents. In each of these times when Vantage pays late "I" pay the late fee and take the credit hit.

However ComplaintsBoard has detected that:
- While Vantage West Credit Union has a high level of trust, our investigation has revealed that the company's complaint resolution process is inadequate and ineffective. As a result, only 6% of 15 complaints are resolved. The support team may have poor customer service skills, lack of training, or not be well-equipped to handle customer complaints.
- Vantage West Credit Union protects their ownership data, a common and legal practice. However, from our perspective, this lack of transparency can impede trust and accountability, which are essential for establishing a credible and respected business entity.
This account was charged off and I was sent a tax form in 2020 that I had to file as income
This account was charged off and I was sent a tax form in 2020 that I had to file as income. But every month they charge me a $50 late fee even though the account is closed and charged off. It charged off at around $5k and now it's around $8k because they've been charging a $50 fee each month for three years, even after the charge off. I want this removed from my credit report.
Auto loan is automatically paid through online banking with confirmation of payment being sent/received
Auto loan is automatically paid through online banking with confirmation of payment being sent/received. Keep getting phone calls saying we're behind, call back and keep being told we're up to date on payments; online banking with Vantage West confirms this. Even though payment is up to date, Vantage West keeps reporting to credit bureaus that we're now 60 days late and it's really messed up our credit rating. We don't get why the bank can't sort out their own system and we haven't gotten much help so far.
I paid my car off in 2021 and didn't receive my title from Vantage West in the mail
I paid my car off in 2021 and didn't receive my title from Vantage West in the mail. I wanted to sell my car, so I called Vantage West to find out what happened. They told me that the DMV would have my title, no problem. I went to the DMV and waited for an hour, but they said I needed to get a lien release from Vantage West. Frustrated, I went to Vantage West and they showed me that I hadn't paid anyone any money. More than $7000 was missing. Eventually, they found it, but it took them over an hour to locate where my money had been for over a whole year. My credit has been affected for over a year. I'm not happy and would like an apology. I'm so confused about where my money had been this whole time.
Vantage West Credit Union messed up big time and lost nearly $1000 of my hard-earned money
Vantage West Credit Union messed up big time and lost nearly $1000 of my hard-earned money. It happened in late October when they somehow misplaced three deposits. Can you believe it? On October 28, they conveniently forgot about my $173.91 and $289.35, and then on October 29, they misplaced a whopping $450.00. Can you imagine the frustration?
But here's the kicker: Vantage West Credit Union won't even give me a simple piece of paper confirming that they received a fax from Square Support regarding my missing deposits. They claim they couldn't use the information to locate my funds. Seriously? All I'm asking for is a letter stating that Square Support's tracing info was useless in finding my money. Is that too much to ask?
It's like Vantage West wants their customers to drown in debt and suffer from homelessness caused by their own financial mismanagement. They need to step up their game and take responsibility for their mistakes. We deserve better treatment than this.
I opened an account about a year ago (I think) and kept a minimum balance
I opened an account about a year ago (I think) and kept a minimum balance. My father was also added as a joint account holder. Out of nowhere, without any notification, they closed my account. I found out when I tried to log in. I regularly check transactions for my elderly father, but I never received any notification about the closure. If they had let me know, I would have taken action to prevent this, but they closed my account and took my money. This is unacceptable and against the law. If a bank wants to close an account, they should give a warning or some kind of proof. How can a credit union just close your account without any notice? If I had received a letter, wouldn't a reasonable person take steps to address the issue? Is this some kind of trick they play? Closing people's accounts and taking their money? I want my money back!
I paid my past balance of $841.26 and January payment on 1/10/23, but it was still reported to the credit bureau
I paid my past balance of $841.26 and January payment on 1/10/23, but it was still reported to the credit bureau. On 1/9/2023, I called Vantage West to let them know that I was still unemployed and needed to set up a payment catch-up plan with the help of my co-signer. They told me that $841.26 was due from November and December, and they updated my insurance policy. They said it was delinquent and had already been sent to the credit bureau. I was transferred to a supervisor who said they couldn't do anything about the credit bureau reporting. I explained that they had promised to hold off until I called on 1/9/23, but they were no help at all.
On 12/28/22, I spoke to someone named *** in Vantage West collections. They said they would follow up with me on 1/9/23 to create a catch-up plan. However, when they called, they hadn't read the notes from the previous call.
On 12/12/2022, I spoke to Julie in Vantage West collections. She admitted that they were at fault for not calling me back in October to confirm the deferral. They dropped the ball and no one called to confirm. I had thought it was set up the whole time. They said they would hold off from collections until I let them know on 1/9/23 if I was employed or if I had set up a catch-up plan. I didn't have a deferred payment set up from the email and call in October regarding my unemployment. She said she would have a supervisor call me.

I used to have a bank account and a credit card with Vantage West
I used to have a bank account and a credit card with Vantage West. They closed my credit card, but I'm still making monthly payments until I pay off the balance. Since I had a checking account with them, I used to make payments through my online banking account. At the beginning of the year, I closed my checking account and informed them that I wouldn't be able to pay my bill online anymore, so I needed a monthly statement mailed to me.
The first month after closing my account, they didn't mail me a bill. I had to call them twice to let them know I needed a bill mailed to me. Finally, after two phone calls, they sent me a bill. The bill was for $30, but I paid $300. However, months went by without receiving another bill in the mail. I called them multiple times, begging for a bill so I could make payments. It's been three months now without receiving a bill.
I've called them repeatedly, asking for a bill, but their collections team keeps calling me. Every time they call, I explain that I'm willing and able to pay if they send me a bill. Unfortunately, they've already negatively impacted my credit twice for late payments and charged me around $100 in late fees.
The problem isn't that I don't have the funds to pay the debt; the problem is that they repeatedly failed to provide me with a physical way to make a payment. I never received a bill or statement.
My wife and I bought a 2014 Ford F-350 4x4 pick-up truck
My wife and I bought a 2014 Ford F-350 4x4 pick-up truck. We paid off the truck completely, leaving a $5.00 balance after the lien clearance payment. Vantage West Credit Union suggested that we open a savings account for the $5 dollars, so we did. On July 9th, we received a letter from Vantage West through the post office. I have a time-stamped copy of the letter. Inside, there was a statement from Vantage West dated 06/30, stating that there was a beginning balance of $5 dollars on 04/01. However, the $5.00 was withdrawn and the account was closed by Vantage West due to inactivity. We called Vantage West to ask why the account was closed, and their response was that there was no activity, so they closed it. We requested a refund of the $5 but were denied. I asked to speak to the manager and spoke to a woman who claimed to be the manager. She said there was nothing she could do because of company policy. I asked for a copy of the policy, and she became rude and curt, telling me to read my own copy of the policy and then hung up. I tried calling back, but no one answered. Eventually, I managed to get in touch with the manager again and requested a copy of the policy she was referring to. She said she would send it in the mail. This conversation happened on July 13, and as of today, we have not received any correspondence from Vantage West Credit Union. They are dishonest and untrustworthy for taking money from their customers' accounts. Vantage West should be investigated for fraud and tampering with accounts.
Account number *** account number *** Since 2019, when Vantage West did a website update, I have had nothing but issues making
Account number *** account number *** Since 2019, when Vantage West did a website update, I have had nothing but issues making payments. For the last 3 months, I have not been able to make online payments, which has caused multiple problems. I always make payments on time, but Vantage West makes it nearly impossible for me to do so. I have had to call in for the last three months to make phone payments, and the agents want to charge a processing fee. I have to explain why I shouldn't have to pay that since I can't make the payment online. Every month, customer service advises me that they will submit a ticket with their digital team to resolve the issue, but nothing ever gets resolved. Once again this month, I'm going to have to call customer service to ask them to process my payment over the phone. Last month, they advised me that I would have to go to a sister branch over 75 miles away to make a payment. I am no longer in Arizona, so I don't understand how that is fair when I am out of their service area. I believe that Vantage West is violating multiple OCC (Office of the Comptroller of the Currency) regulations by causing me to have this issue and wanting me to make a payment over the phone, which would be my only option, and charging me a processing fee. Luckily, I have not had to pay that, and they offered to waive the fee after I pushed back and spoke to supervisors. I should not have to spend almost an hour every month just to make a payment that I am doing on time. I am about to reach out to an attorney to see if they are violating any regulations and take them to small claims court due to this issue. I will call in today to speak with a supervisor and ask for this issue to be resolved, or they can just close my account and I'll have all the supporting arguments and documents showing that I was attempting to make payments. I shouldn't have to go through all this hassle just to make a payment for these loans.
I contacted Vantage West Credit Union (my current mortgage holder) in early December about a HELOC
I contacted Vantage West Credit Union (my current mortgage holder) in early December about a HELOC. On [protected], I spoke with *** (X Centralized Lending with NML # ***) to discuss everything. I explained that I didn't need the funds right away, but I wanted them available. She assured me that there would be no cost out of pocket and that an appraisal wasn't necessary. She said they could do an online appraisal that was free and quick, so we could avoid the long wait for a traditional appraisal. She even shared her own positive experience with a HELOC and suggested that if I didn't like the online appraisal results, I could request a physical one. Based on this, I decided to proceed with Vantage West for my HELOC.
On [protected], I received the approval packet from *** (Senior Home Equity Loan Process with NMLS # ***). Over the next few days, I provided all the requested documents (pay stubs, tax returns, etc.). Since I'm a commissioned employee, they needed additional verification of my previous employment, which took some time to obtain from my former employer. On 12/23, *** informed me that they had everything and were waiting to hear from underwriting. I expected them to honor their commitment and proceed with the online appraisal. However, I didn't hear anything until 1/5, when they ordered the title policy. Then on 1/6, *** called to inform me that everything was done, but she needed to "order my appraisal." She mentioned that it would take another 4-6 weeks and cost $350-$450. I interrupted her and reminded her of their promise of an online appraisal. She then informed me that I didn't qualify for it because I needed a credit score of 760, and mine was only 767 (just 3 points difference). Essentially, she admitted that I was lied to. However, to avoid any financial loss on my part, she proposed a "Bait and Switch" tactic. She said that if I borrowed at least $15,000 from the closing and agreed not to pay it off for a year, they would refund the appraisal fee. In other words, if I agreed to owe them $15,000 at 6.5% interest for a year, they would reimburse the fee. I told her not to proceed and that I would get back to her.
On [protected], I contacted *** to confirm everything that had happened so far. I expressed my disappointment with their handling of the situation and how poorly they treated me. I also indicated that I considered their actions fraudulent and that I would file complaints unless they made things right. On [protected], *** (***'s manager, Home Loan Manager NMLS # ***) called me. I reiterated the situation, and she promised to review it and get back to me. She called me shortly after and essentially confirmed everything. She stated that they wouldn't take any action regarding what had already occurred. However, she promised to expedite the appraisal process, cover the fees, and set the due date for the appraisal as today [protected]). I didn't hear from anyone, so on [protected], I reached out to ***. She informed me that the request hadn't been accepted, and they couldn't do anything until the following week. Today, *** called me to inform me that the appraisal had finally been accepted but wouldn't be completed until 2/3. This is unacceptable as I shouldn't have to wait an additional 2+ weeks for something that should have been done 2 weeks ago.
