Disappointing Experience with VTrips: Poorly Equipped Condo and Unhelpful Management
My experience with VTrips was less than satisfactory. I was drawn to the property because of its ocean view and the promise of a well-equipped condo. Sadly, I was disappointed on both counts. When I arrived at my condo, I was told that I wouldn't be able to access the balcony for my entire stay. The patio furniture was scattered throughout my small living space, and a tarp was hung over the balcony railing, so I couldn't even see the ocean. When I contacted the Panama City Condo rental company, they informed me that they were unaware of the issue and that they couldn't do anything to help me. They blamed the owner, who was also unhelpful.
It took multiple calls to both the local office and the corporate headquarters to finally get someone to review my case. I still haven't heard back from them. During my stay, I had to call three times to get an extra wristband that was promised to me. The local manager was extremely unprofessional and offered no compensation for the issues I encountered.
The pool was often closed without explanation, and we were told to go to the resort's pool, which was dirty and smelled like marijuana. The condo itself was poorly equipped, with only three hangers, four bath towels, and a few utensils. We had to constantly wash and reuse items to make due, and we didn't even have a dish towel or hot pad. We ended up using our beach towels to handle hot dishes in the oven.
The security at the pool was excessive, not allowing any food or drinks to be brought in from outside. We had to buy everything from the pool restaurant, and we couldn't have a drink by the hot tub or pool. Additionally, playing music was strictly prohibited.
Overall, I would not recommend staying with VTrips. The company and the owners of the properties they rent are unhelpful, and the conditions of the properties themselves are lacking. If you want to have an enjoyable vacation, I suggest looking elsewhere.
Unresponsive and Unhelpful: My Experience with VTrips During the COVID-19 Pandemic
Vtrips is a company that has been hard to reach lately, but with the current season, this is not unexpected. You may have to call numerous times before you can finally talk to a representative. They promise to call you back within an hour, but this rarely happens. If you're lucky to receive a call back, the agent is polite but does not have any policy on COVID-19 pandemic.
The company does not have any policy for individuals who are already infected with the virus and whether they can stay in their properties. Also, if you test positive for COVID-19 and wish to cancel your reservation, you cannot get a refund. If you cancel, they will review your case and may decide to refund part of your rental fee or not. But you shouldn't count on getting money back from them.
Even with THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT asking ALL Americans to CANCEL ALL DISCRETIONARY TRAVEL, Vtrips still refuses to refund reservations. Their hotels, like many elsewhere, are offering full refunds, but not Vtrips. The only option you have is to reschedule, but they might increase your rate. This is not a good move on their part, given the current climate and uncertainty.
Jackson Mountain Homes and VTrips may not make it past this crisis, as they are facing difficult decisions. However, it is not a good look for them to try and make money during a Global Pandemic for services that are not rendered. It would be better if they joined other travel companies and offered FULL REFUNDS to their customers immediately.
Based on their online reviews across the internet, it is best to stay away from VTrips. With all the negative feedback from renters, property owners, and former employees, it is best to spend your money with companies that value their customers.
Disappointing Experience with VTrips Booking – Unacceptable Accommodation Standards and Lack of Responsiveness
We decided to book our accommodation through VTrips for a 10-week stay in Panama City Beach, Florida. We chose 141 West Leslie in the Gulf Highlands complex based on the pictures, description, and reviews provided by VTrips. However, it was a huge mistake. The apartment was in a state of disrepair and was not up to basic cleanliness standards. Upon our arrival, we immediately left a message for VTrips to complain about the general disrepair and lack of basic cleanliness in the unit.
The next day, VTrips called us back and asked if we wanted a refund. However, they suggested that we try to get the unit adequately cleaned first. We agreed and a cleaner came to clean and deodorize the living room furniture and stairway carpeting. However, the furniture continued to have an unpleasant smell, especially on humid days. We ended up buying a blanket to place on the couch.
We also noticed that there were basics missing in the unit, such as dishware, pots and pans that were not scratched and gouged, bakeware, and a vacuum. We notified VTrips of these issues but it took a while for most of the basics to be provided.
Despite our efforts to clean the apartment ourselves, we found that there were still areas that were not up to basic cleanliness standards. We had to clean the air grates, ceiling fans and light fixtures, kitchen shelves, top of the refrigerator, stairway handrail, and walls and ceilings.
We were disappointed to find out that the reviews on the VTrips site were from two years ago, and there was no place to add a review for this unit. We were left wondering why this was the case. Additionally, when we asked for a refund three days after our arrival, we were told it was "too late" even though we had initially been asked to try cleaning the unit first.
We were eventually offered a $700 refund and reimbursement for an area rug we purchased to replace the pet-stained one in the unit, but we had to agree not to generate a negative review. We gave up the refund so we could give this truthful review.
Although VTrips made attempts to obtain our satisfaction, there was a definite lack of responsiveness and timeliness of response. We took pictures and retained all of the emails with VTrips. Overall, we would not recommend VTrips based on our experience with them.
Avoid VTrips at All Costs: A Disastrous Experience in Hilton Head Island
I highly recommend that you avoid VTrips if you're planning your holiday. Our recent experience with them was a complete disaster, and I wouldn't want anyone else to have to go through what we did.
Initially, we thought we had booked our reservation for a property in Hilton Head Island directly through VRBO. However, VTrips somehow ended up becoming the company that was handling our booking. And when we had an issue, we quickly realized that they were not capable of handling the situation.
During our stay, we noticed that the bed in the condo we rented (1774 St Andrew's Common, Hilton Head, SC) was very old and, to be blunt, uncomfortable. The mattress had clearly seen better days, and it was causing a lot of pain for one of our party members. We brought the issue to the attention of management right away, but they were slow to address the problem.
After calling in maintenance, we were told that the mattress was clearly not up to their standards and would need to be replaced by the property owner. In the meantime, the maintenance man attempted to add some boards to the bed in an effort to make it more comfortable. But it was apparent that this would not solve the underlying issue.
Despite our repeated requests to be moved to another unit with a better bed, management refused to relocate us. Instead, we were offered a cot to sleep on. To make matters worse, the AC was programmed to not go below 73 degrees, which made the heat and humidity of the area unbearable at night without the option to use the advertised air conditioning.
We also dealt with issues related to the cleanliness of the condo. The water had a strong sulfuric odor, and the shower curtain was slimy and black. Although we were charged a cleaning fee, it was clear that the unit had not been cleaned thoroughly before our arrival.
Finally, we were offered a pitiful $50 compensation a week after checking out, which felt like an insult given our experience.
What's particularly frustrating is that we've since learned that VTrips has a history of terrible service and poor reviews online. They seem to be more concerned with their profit margins than the satisfaction of their customers.
If you're planning a trip to Hilton Head, my advice would be to avoid VTrips and find a different company to handle your bookings. Although the property itself appeared to be nice on the surface, the management and service we received from VTrips completely ruined our vacation, and we don't want anyone else to have to go through the same experience.
Disappointing Experience with Jackson Mountain Homes/Vtrips: No Pool Table, Limited View, and Poor Customer Service
We decided to book a cabin in Sevierville, TN through Jackson Mountain Homes/Vtrips for a fun family vacation in August. It wasn't the first time we had chosen to rent through JMH, and the past experiences were generally okay. However, this time was different, and it was far from pleasant. We were looking for a cabin with a pool table and a mountain view, as that was a top request from my five adult children. We spent a considerable amount of time browsing cabins in our price range, and we finally found "The Wilderness Lodge" cabin that met all our requirements.
On the day of arrival, after a long seven-hour drive, we were disappointed to find out that there was no pool table in the cabin, even though it was one of our non-negotiable bookings. We immediately called customer service to report the issue, and they suggested that the pool table might have been removed by the owner without their knowledge. We didn't care about the reason; all we wanted was to move to another cabin with a pool table. Several calls to JMH's customer service later, we learned that the manager had to approve the move. This situation was not ideal because the manager could take days to call back.
Moreover, we found another available cabin on JMH's website that met our requirements but received no response from the manager. Another customer service representative suggested that a maintenance crew might be available the following day to move a pool table into our cabin. We decided to wait until the next day to see if they would keep their promise. The morning came and went, and the maintenance crew never arrived. Our only option at this point was to request a full refund, which was met with little success. Instead, JMH offered us $177.00 as credit, which is not enough compared to the over $1k we paid upfront; it was an insult.
The cabin we rented had a limited view of the woods near a busy road, not at all like the mountain view we expected. Frustrated and desperate to save our vacation, we searched for another cabin through another company and ended up finding a beautiful cabin through Bear Camp Cabin Rentals. We highly recommend them. Their representative was fantastic; they personally made sure all the amenities we needed, including a pool table, were there.
After 30 days, Brian Booning, from Vtrips, contacted me to ask about our experience, and I dutifully explained our disappointments, including the lack of communication and the refund we deserved. Disappointingly, he ignored our email, and we decided to pursue this issue in small claims court of Knox County, TN.
We are disappointed with the situation as we had good experiences previously with JMH. We hope that this issue will soon be resolved and do not wish for anyone else to have to go through such an inconvenience.
Horrible Experience with VTrips Cabin Rental in Gatlinburg, TN: Lack of Care and Unresolved Issues Spoiled Trip
I recently decided to book a cabin in the heart of Gatlinburg, TN for my family using Hotels.com to find a 2-bedroom cabin called "Bear's Den" through VTrips. Following my booking, I was supposed to receive a confirmation email from VTrips about the check-in process and a front door code within 24 hours of my reservation. Sadly, despite waiting patiently, the email never arrived.
I tried to contact Hotels.com multiple times, but unfortunately, nobody returned my calls. On the day of check-in, while driving through the gorgeous mountains, I spent hours on the phone with representatives from both Hotels.com and VTrips trying to get my front door code. It was quite frustrating, to say the least. The VTrips representative informed me that she was only able to help with new reservations and couldn't provide any information regarding my current reservation. She promised to relay my information to the team responsible and informed me that somebody would contact me. However, I never received a call from anyone.
After a long wait, we finally arrived at the cabin. We were able to get a phone number off a sign in the front yard and called multiple times, leaving a message each time. After around an hour, my wife was finally able to get through to someone, who provided us with the required information to gain access to the cabin.
Unfortunately, once we were inside, several issues began to arise. Initially, we found that the dryer wasn’t working, and as a result, a serviceman was required to make repairs. Worse yet, we discovered that the kitchen and downstairs bathroom were overrun with ants, and the downstairs bedroom ceiling fan was off-balance and squeaking loudly, making it almost impossible to use at night. We had to throw away $75 worth of food as a result. Even while doing laundry, we found that the dryer did not dry clothes properly. When we called the serviceman the next day, he told me that he only had a work order for the washer and could not assist with the dryer. Eventually, I was able to speak to a VTrips manager and explained all the problems we had encountered. She informed me that she could not send out pest control but would send a maintenance man with a can of bug spray. Unfortunately, the maintenance man arrived late and only handed me the can to use on my own. He did advise that they would speak to the owner to replace the ceiling fan.
Eventually, after two weeks from check-out, I received the following email from VTrips:
"Good Afternoon,
Our upper management team has reviewed your request for compensation regarding the issues you faced during your stay at Bear's Den. Unfortunately, VTrips cannot assist with anything to do with funds for your booking. You will need to contact the company you booked your reservation with."
This response was quite disappointing as the main issue was VTrips' lack of care towards their customers and their unwillingness to fix any of the issues, which would have been quite minor. I shouldn't have had to contact Hotels.com for reimbursement. They had already paid VTrips for the trip, and they were highly helpful in trying to assist me in this matter.
In conclusion, while Gatlinburg is an incredible place to visit, I would strongly urge individuals not to book through VTrips. I will report the company to the Better Business Bureau. It's astonishing that they want me to go back to Hotels.com to get reimbursed for my loss. It's crucially disappointing to see a company that is so uninterested in their clients' issues and who seem to be actively profiting from them. It's quite shameful, especially given these difficult times.
Nightmarish Vacation Experience with VTrips: A Warning to All Vacation Planners!
WOW! Just WOW! If you're planning a vacation, DO NOT – I repeat – DO NOT use VTrips. My experience was the worst. I'm only giving them one star because I have to, but they don't even deserve that.
I rented a lovely place called Ocean Walk in Palm Coast in June 2019. But as soon as I arrived, I found that the tile floors were in a terrible state, there was a sewer smell that nearly made me pass out, and the pool pump wasn't working. The pool had also become a frog haven, and there was a decomposing frog in the skimmer basket – YUCK! The smell had invaded the downstairs laundry area, but I decided to ignore it. On the Sunday, when I was taking a shower, the sewer backed up into the tub and flowed to the toilet, which overflowed. Gross! I had to get someone to fix it promptly. But, after many phone calls, a Roto-Rooter plumber eventually arrived late that night. He fixed the clogged drain, but he made a mess carrying water through the house and dumping it in the kitchen sink. I had to clean the bathroom and the kitchen afterward with Clorox and Lysol, which I bought from Publix. I also had to mop the floors and sanitize everything.
As if that wasn't enough, the power flickered while it stormed, which caused the air conditioning unit to stop working. We woke up sweating in a hot house. I made countless calls to many different offices, but nothing happened until I drove to the Palm Coast office to complain in person. Finally, a technician arrived to fix the problem, but by that time, it was the next day, and we had lost yet another day of our vacation.
We could hardly cook inside because of the heat, so we decided to use the outdoor grill. But what a horrible mess that was! The grill was rusty and broken. It was unusable. The air conditioning unit was fixed, but the house took until the wee hours of the morning to cool down. The pool pump also quit working a few times, and when my husband discovered that the hours set for operation were set for the wrong time, they did nothing about it. We gave up and let it go. They never replenished the chlorine that was supposed to be in the pool, and they did nothing to fix the pump problems.
If you want a relaxing vacation free of stress, go stay in a motel instead because this experience was a nightmare. The worst part is that the customer service is terrible. Every time I called, I was connected to different locations and placed on hold forever. Then, when I FINALLY got to the right person, I was disconnected! I've used other companies before and never had a problem like this one. VTrips is a joke! Even though the company fixed the problems within 48 hours, what about the first few days when I had to complain almost every day? They did nothing about those days. They refused to give me any compensation. What a disappointment!
Warning: Poor Experience with Vacation Rental Pros in Maui - Be Cautious Before Booking!
Maui is just the bees knees, you know what I mean? It's my absolute favorite place to vacay and I usually shack up with a friend at the Maui Banyan resort in Kihei. This year, I bought me a package deal from Hawaiian Airlines that included a 2-bedroom/2-bathroom condo with Vacation Rental Pros, who also go by VTrips in Florida, VacayHome Connect in Chicago, and Maui Rental Group in Maui.
Well, I gotta say, the initial reservation we got for unit P302 left a lot to be desired. We noticed a bunch of issues with the place and called up local and out of state reps for hours to try and get it fixed up. Even ol' Rachel from Maui Rental Group had to jump in to help us. But no matter what we did, the place just wasn't right. The sliding glass door in one of the bedrooms was stuck open and had a broken handle, the bathroom fans weren't running and the conditions were poor, the shower curtains were damaged, dishes were still left in the dishwasher, cups in the cabinets had coffee stains, the fridge was dirty, and the place hadn't been properly stocked with all the necessaries you need (like TP, soap, and coffee, ya know?).
We wasted a good 5-6 hours of our first afternoon on the phone trying to resolve the issues. We requested a new unit, but we were told there were none available. So we had to suck it up and go grocery shopping for the missing supplies. Then the next day, Rachel texted us saying that Unit F103 was finally available. So we had to move ourselves and all our stuff up that big ole hill from P302 to F-103, with no one offering to lend a helping hand. It was a struggle, especially for my friend who had knee surgery and had a hard time climbing stairs.
But F-103 was definitely in better shape than P302. Alas, our problems weren't all solved. We found a broken kitchen faucet and the sliding window was stuck open again! We called Rachel about it and she sent someone to fix it up, but it wasn't a permanent solution.
Now, to make up for all the inconvenience and time we'd wasted, we were offered a measly $100. We asked for a lot more than that, since the first two days of our precious vacation were ruined, we had to deal with stairs we weren't prepared for, and had to schlep our bags ourselves. But Vacation Rental Pros wouldn't budge.
So consider yourself warned, all ya'll! Be careful about booking with this company or one of their aliases. There are much nicer condos and property managers out there. I know I'll be double-checking my travel plans next time!
Terrible Vacation Rental Experience with Vtrips - Locked Out, Poor Communication, Roaches, and Inaccurate Information
This is the worst experience I've ever had with a vacation rental company. My family and I stayed at a cabin through vtrips for my husband and daughters' birthdays for four nights, and it was a complete disaster. Our first night, after driving 9 hours to get there, we were locked out of the cabin and given three different codes that didn't work. We waited for almost 2 hours and had to call the company three times before we finally got a call back. By that time, it was almost 10 pm, bears had started to approach, and it was raining, which made our visibility even worse. We were extremely nervous, and our safety was a major concern.
What made the situation even more frustrating was the poor wireless connection. The cabin's lock code didn't work due to the poor connection, and no one at vtrips had our information or cabin location. We left the location and didn't hear from anyone until 9:44 pm, which was unacceptable. By that time, we had started to get lost in the Smoky Mountains due to the poor connections. It was our first time in Gatlinburg, and we didn't want to come back due to the overall experience.
We tried to find another cabin, but there weren't any available, and the company refused to give us our money back. Sarah and another woman were very rude to us, and we only came back to the cabin because there were no other options. To make matters worse, the cabin had roaches in the kitchen, which was disgusting. We had to eat out every day because we couldn't cook in the cabin due to the roaches. We tried to clean the cabin, but it was still dusty and dirty in certain areas. We took videos and pictures to prove this to the company, but nothing was done until we had to express our concerns multiple times which was unacceptable.
The company promised to send someone out in case of an emergency, but they didn't fulfill their promise. The information provided about the cabin was also inaccurate, which only adds to our frustration. We've lost so many family members, and this was our way of doing something special for our families that deserved it. It's heartbreaking that this vacation went so wrong.
I'm currently waiting for the cabin director to find a solution to address this situation. I hope they take the necessary steps to ensure that other families don't have to go through what we experienced. It's important to be careful when booking with vtrips, as we learned that they're located in Florida and not much help in a crisis. All they care about is getting your money. If they don't handle this situation fairly, I will be getting my attorney involved. I hope no one else has to endure what my family and I had to go through.
VTrips Review: Nightmare Vacation Rental Experience with Bed Bugs and Poor Customer Service
My experience with VTrips was a complete disaster. We thought we were getting a great deal by booking a condo through them instead of VRBO, but boy were we wrong. Our check-in didn't go as planned, as we were told our room wouldn't be ready until an hour after the scheduled check-in time. We decided to go grocery shopping, spending over $200 on food for the week, assuming our room would be ready by the time we were done. Unfortunately, it was still not ready when we returned, and we had to plead with the staff just to put our food in the fridge while they finished cleaning the room.
When we finally got to our room, we were incredibly disappointed by what we saw. The pictures did not do it justice, as the carpet was dirty, the blinds were all broken, and the sliding door to the patio didn't even work. The shower was missing tiles, with sharp edges that could easily cut someone. The bed comforters were disgustingly stained, and the washer and dryer were extremely old and rusted. I was extremely worried about my two small children staying in such terrible conditions.
We contacted VTrips to see if they could offer us another place to stay or a refund, but they were incredibly rude and unhelpful. They said there was nothing they could do and that we were stuck with the terrible condo. We asked to speak with a supervisor, but they hung up on us. We took our children to the beach instead, as the 3-foot-deep pool was too dirty to use.
When we returned to our room, I decided to check for bed bugs – something I always do when staying somewhere new. I was horrified to find live bugs and larvae all over the mattress, as well as blood stains everywhere. I immediately contacted VTrips' emergency maintenance line and sent them photos of the bugs. They confirmed that they were bed bugs and told us to leave the room immediately. We had to pack up our car and find somewhere else to stay – a difficult task since there were no vacancies in any hotels in the area. We ended up spending the night in a grocery store parking lot, which was terribly uncomfortable and scary for my children.
After finding a new place to stay, we contacted VTrips about getting a refund. We were promised an inspector would investigate the room, but we never heard anything from them until we called several days later, only to be told that the inspector found no evidence of bed bugs. They offered us a refund of only $175, the cleaning fee, and demanded that we sign a contract promising not to leave negative reviews or post on social media about our experience. When we refused to sign, they refused to give us any money back at all.
Overall, my experience with VTrips was a total nightmare. I would never recommend this company to anyone, and I'm disappointed that we wasted so much money on a terrible vacation rental.

VTrips Cancelled My Reservation For Someone Else - Terrible Experience
Oh boy, let me tell you about my experience with VTrips. I booked my vacation rental through them and got the usual confirmation email and access to their app with my itinerary. But when it came time to check in, things went downhill real fast.
I couldn't find the details to enter the house, so I called them up. You won't believe what they told me - apparently, they had sent me this information five times already! Can you imagine? I had to call them four more times just to tell them that I didn't receive it. And when I finally landed, I called them for the sixth time to get the code to get into the house. That's when they dropped the bomb on me. The owner had canceled my reservation and overbooked it with someone else for six nights!
Now, I don't know about you, but when I book a vacation rental, I don't expect to be canceled on last minute. And the best part? They used my reservation to get a better one. How is that fair? I'm the one who has to put up 100% of the risk if I cancel or don't show up, but VTrips can cancel on me whenever they feel like it.
And to make matters worse, I have to sort out the refund through Airbnb because VTrips won't cancel it themselves. Maybe they're not allowed to? Who knows. All I know is that they've left me in a sticky situation, scrambling to fix everything.
Overall, it was an awful experience. They have no respect for their guests' time and plans. So if you want to avoid this kind of headache, I suggest you steer clear of VTrips.
Beware of VTrips: "Away From It All" Cabin Review in Gatlinburg, TN
I done booked a vacation for my fam and it was supposed to be a surprise Christmas present for everyone. I picked Gatlinburg Tennessee 'cause I heard there were some good spots there and 'cause of Covid, I wanted to stay away from the big cities. The drive was supposed to be 9 hours long and I was all set for that, but man, we hit some major construction and accidents on the way there and it took us 12 hours! But anyways, the place I picked out was specifically pet-friendly 'cause I wanted to bring my lil Chihuahua with us.
Two months before the trip though, VTrips called us up and said that our home we had booked got sold. I was mad worried, but they sent us some pictures of another cabin that was supposed to be comparable. I chose that one even though it ended up being a lil more expensive, but I was pretty sure everyone could come or at least that's what the agent told me. So, we kept moving forward with the plans.
After two days of driving, we finally arrived at Gatlinburg and holy moly, there was a frickin' bear in our driveway! That was pretty cool, but also kinda scary at the same time. In any case, the cabin looks absolutely amazing and my family was really excited to stay there. My son who was with us went to pick up some pizza 'cause we were all too tired from the drive. But, then a man knocked on our door and said that he was there to evict us! I was like, "are you frickin' kidding me?" Apparently, we had broken our contract by bringing our dog. We tried offering to kennel our lil Chihuahua somewhere or even leave with him so that my children could stay, but it was a no go. They were pretty adamant about it, telling us to leave immediately.
And get this, they didn't even refund us our $1600! Even though I was keeping it cool on the outside, I was so furious on the inside that I wanted to punch something. But, alas, we had to find another place to stay and ended up booking an Airbnb not too far off. It wasn't as nice as the one we had to leave, but at least we had somewhere to sleep.
To top it off, my husband had broken his bare and fibula only a month before and this new cabin had like 62 steps that we had to climb up to it! That was not the kind of vacation I had planned for. So, yeah, be real careful when booking with this VTrips. The cabin we had booked was titled "Away From It All" in Gatlinburg Tennessee.
Poor Customer Service and Lacking Effort - A VTrips Review
Oh man, let me tell you - VTrips is not the way to go. I don't even know how they're still in business with the way they handle things. I should've listened to all the negative reviews before I booked with them. My family and I were supposed to vacation in St. Augustine, FL in early January and less than 48 hours before our check-in time, they reached out to me to let me know that our rental unit had water damage.
I mean, I get it - what happened was out of their control and not their fault. But the way they handled things from there? That's all on them. They gave us three options for what to do next:
1) Another unit that was an increased rate, 30 minutes away from where we were supposed to stay. And they didn't even offer to cover the difference in price! They said none of the rental owners would accept a reduced rate. Yeah, right. They'd rather make NO money than make a little less? That seems fishy to me.
2) Another unit that was 30 minutes away from where we were supposed to stay, but we could only stay for 6 days instead of 7.
3) Cancellation and refund, but how were we supposed to find another place to stay 24 hours before our scheduled arrival?
The effort they put into resolving unexpected issues is clearly lacking. I was hoping for better customer service, but it was pretty poor. There are many other rental agencies out there that could do a lot better than VTrips. Believe me, this is my first time ever writing a review for anything online - that's how bad it was. I hope others can learn from my mistake and not book through VTrips.

Overpromised and Underdelivered: A Review of 5447 Atlantic View St Augustine Vacation Rental
This place 5447 Atlantic view St Augustine is advertised as a fancy beach palace but it's more like a rundown shack. They're charging a crazy amount of money for rent by claiming it can sleep 21 people (when in reality, it can barely fit 14). They also boast about the gourmet amenities, but let me tell you, it was far from that. There were major problems that we spotted right away as soon as we checked in. We called customer service a bunch of times, but they weren't really helpful. We even went to their local office, but they still didn't do anything about the things we complained about.
We paid $7,400 for the week and yet they left us to fend for ourselves, and even FIX their property in order to enjoy it properly. The property was not even cleaned well, some sheets on the beds were even dirty and gross. There were not enough towels, sheets, or blankets, and they even forgot to leave garbage cans and recycling containers. We had to deal with roaches (even in our beds), broken beds, and wasp nests on the front porch. All the kitchen utensils were all rusty and unusable. The only baking sheet was all rusted, and there were only 7 broken and chipped mugs. The entry door was even broken which we had to fix ourselves because it was just not secure and safe.
We had to buy bottle openers, glassware and pans just so we could cook some food for ourselves. There was even no WIFI as promised on the website. Out of 9 TV's in the house, only 2 were working. The house's surroundings were just so messy with trash and the landscaping was not even taken care of. The front and the back porch lights were also not working.
Overall, the property could have been great and had a lot of potential, but it was CLEAR that nobody really maintained it at all. To be honest, we suggest you stay away from this place if you're looking for a decent vacation spot.
Unhappy with VTrips' Customer Service During Pandemic - Taken Advantage Of
Hey there, me and my husband work in the Emergency Room and this pandemic has totally jacked up our world. It's like nothing could have ever prepared us for what we face daily - it's insane and challenging on all levels. So when our work cancelled all vacations and travel - we totally understood. As things progressed and evolved, we knew we needed to cancel our vacation. So we tried to get ahold of someone at VTrips multiple times before we finally got through. They offered to reschedule our vacation but we explained that we have no idea when we could reschedule due to the high level of uncertainty with our work and life in general. The company came back with either a 50% refund or reschedule through 2021 but at a higher cost. We cannot afford that. We feel like we were taken advantage of and we are not happy with the way they handled this. Our whole world has been turned upside down and on top of everything, our kids are totally suffering. It's just not right and we will not be using them again.
VTrips: A Shell Game Company Preying on Vulnerable Customers Amid Crisis
VTrips is a company that is taking advantage of the current crisis in our nation. It seems that they are more concerned with their profits and contracts than the welfare of their customers. Instead of using this tough time to come together as a community, they are wielding scare tactics to protect themselves.
Our family was a victim of this company's greed. We were forced to forfeit $1,800 because of the stay-at-home order imposed by our state's governor. VTrips offered us a chance to reschedule or a 50% refund, but the conditions that they set were unacceptable. The dates that they provided were unknown, and they claimed that if we re-booked and the pandemic continues, there would be no refund. If we accepted the 50%, we were not allowed to take legal action in the future. This is not a company that cares about their customers.
We were told that we should have purchased travel insurance, but even that would not have protected us in the current pandemic situation. It makes us feel foolish for believing in this company's promises. Their agents told us that they were doing this to save the company, but at what cost? This was a shell game company, not a hospitality one.
We hope that VTrips will consider the American people's plight and offer refunds instead of rescheduling. The sincerity of their replies on this site is meaningless until they do so. We understand that everyone is struggling in these uncertain times, but stealing from those who support you is not the way to survive. VTrips needs to change their ways before it's too late.
Nightmarish Stay at 343 Ponte Vedra Boulevard with VTrips: Filthy, Musty, and Uninhabitable
My stay at 343 Ponte Vedra Boulevard through VTrips was nothing short of a nightmare. This old house, furnished with items that looked like they were from the 1950s, was an absolute disaster. Every inch of the interior of the house smelled of bad odors that seemed to come from contaminated sources, which made me feel uncomfortable and uneasy. I had to resort to hiring a cleaning service for a proper cleaning of the kitchen and various dishes and utensils before I could use them.
It was impossible to avoid the filthy sofas in the living room. The three of them were old, smelly, and had not been cleaned for ages. I had to wash all my clothes and let the sofas unused for the duration of my stay. The carpet in both the living room and dining room was a mess, stained, and dirty. The chairs in the dining room and seats had filthy covers that looked like they had not been washed in a long time.
The windows at this property were either replaced with new ones with stickers still attached to them or were so dirty that it was hard to see clearly through them. The master bathroom was no exception, wreaking with mold and mildew, dampness consistently lingering in the air, and clammy towels that would not dry. The wooden support underneath the bed was falling apart and was clearly unstable, and in the master bedroom, there was even a bowl of three rotting pineapples that made the room stink (photos).
Water pressure was another problem in this house. The sink only had dribbling cold water with non-existent hot water. The shower's water pressure, however, was so great that water was spewing beyond the curtain, making the whole bathroom a watery mess. The upstairs bathrooms had scarce water pressure for basic cleaning and hygiene routines. There was a moldy bedroom next to the garage without any heating or cooling, which made it unbearable to stay.
In addition, I saw a review on VRBO where someone reported finding snakes in the house. I was freaked out when I read this as we could not rule out the possibility of such a thing happening. To make matters worse, there was a power outage one morning that left us without electricity for a few hours.
Overall, I had an experience that was nothing short of horrific in this house. The owner of this property should have refunded us our money for putting us through this torture. VTrips clearly needs to do their due diligence before recommending properties to their customers.
Exceptional Customer Service and Attention to Detail: Our Experience with VTrips
VTrips, on the other hand, is a company that truly knows how to treat their clients. We recently had a stay in one of their rental properties and were blown away by their attention to detail and customer service. From the moment we arrived, we knew we were in good hands.
First of all, the property was spotless. It was clear that the VTrips team takes great care in ensuring that their rentals are clean and well-maintained. The decor was modern and comfortable, and everything was in working order.
But what really stood out to us was how responsive and helpful the VTrips team was throughout our stay. We had a minor issue with the television not working properly, and within minutes of calling the VTrips hotline, a technician was at our door to fix the problem. They even followed up later in the day to make sure everything was still working!
We also appreciated how easy it was to communicate with the VTrips team. They were always available via phone or email, and when we had a question about local restaurants, they sent us a list of their favorite spots. It was clear that they were dedicated to making our vacation as enjoyable as possible.
In summary, we cannot recommend VTrips enough. If you're looking for a vacation rental company that will go above and beyond for their guests, look no further. We'll definitely be booking with VTrips again in the future!
AC and Maintenance Issues with VTrips Condo - A Senior Citizen's Review
One serious problem with VTrips is that the AC keeps the temperature too hot and changes very slowly. Like, it was around 80 degrees in the unit for 2 and a half days of our 4-day stay - that's wild! We complained to VTrips about the temperature on Thursday, and they sent some people out, but that only helped for about 2 hours. Later on Thursday they came by and brought us fans and a portable AC, but we refused it because it would block our patio view. We just wanted to rent a condo, ya know? On Friday, I started calling and emailing VTrips at 8AM because the temperature was too high, and I should mention that I'm a senior citizen with 2 grandkids who were with me too. Finally, around 4PM Friday, a rep came by who did fix the problem, but I had to keep calling VTrips until I could talk to someone who could actually help me. Then, around 7PM, another rep came by even though the problems had already been fixed hours before. We only had 1 and a half days of comfort out of our whole stay, and we definitely should get a partial credit back from VTrips.
On top of all this, some of the furniture in the condo was badly broken, like the coffee table and one of the end tables had broken legs. Also, only one lamp in the living room even worked, which was super annoying. The sliding glass door was almost impossible to use, and the bathtub wouldn't even drain right. Yikes. I had to call the front desk for help with that. Honestly, the only reason the temperature even got fixed was because I was super persistent and kept at them until it got done. We stayed from July 2 to July 5, but I don't think I'd ever book with VTrips again.
Disappointing Stay at Grand Panama through VTrips: Poor Customer Service and Dirty Condo
I booked a splendid cozy condo for my family's Panama City vacation few months beforehand. We were stoked to be on the 6th floor at Grand Panama through VTrips, but unfortunately, things started to get sour. A month after booking our stay, we received a call from Lisa about the condo we had reserved, she informed us, shockingly, that the condo was sold and the only available condos were on higher floors above the 11th. I mean, who on earth would want to stay on the 11th floor? But, Lisa assured us she would find a more comfortable seventh unit, which we agreed to. However, just a week before our holiday, Lisa called again, this time, telling us the seventh-floor condo was sold as well, and that the only available option was on the 11th floor. This was very upsetting since we had already made flight reservations, taken time off work, and more. When I raised the issue with her, all I got was a nonchalant attitude, as though they did not care one bit. Being a loyal customer, I expected more from VTrips in terms of customer service. I mean, if they cancel our booking, it's no big deal, but when we cancel, we are penalized; it's total BS!
Lisa informed me that I would receive an email with check-in information. However, I did not receive any email, which meant we arrived at the condo with no access to our room. After spending an hour on the phone with customer service, we finally got access, but the lady at the table next to the front desk was no help at all. She was just there to collect our parking money.
The parking garage was in a terrible state! Garbage everywhere, with a putrid smell of urine pervading the atmosphere. The hallways and elevators were dirty and utterly nasty, it took over an hour to get an elevator. When we finally got to our room, the door was flopping in the wind, and it had a 1-inch gap all around, which meant it would not seal – making it easy for anyone to open it with a credit card. The dishes in the cupboards were dirty, and the condo was supposed to be accommodating eight people, but there were only six towels. The place was dirty and needed a real good clean. The couch had large stains all over it, and the carpet was stained too. The dryer was very loud; we could not be in the condo when it was running, the squeaking was unbearable. The WIFI was terrible.
On the bright side, the beach was exceptional, and there weren't lots of people there. However, there were only two BBQ grills, and only one was working, which meant there was always a line to BBQ. The entrance to the grilling area was locked with a chain and padlock, and to get to the grills, we had to go out the front and walk around.
Overall, I can say that the Grand Panama resort through VTrips was a complete disappointment. I would not recommend staying there, nor booking with VTrips in the future. Their customer service stinks, the parking garage is a health hazard, and the condo was utterly dirty – we clearly deserved better!
