Just read the reviews and complaints on the ComplaintsBoard.com
Just read the reviews and complaints on the Complaintsboard.com. This is a predatory company trying to lock people into contracts, at all costs. They are no better than IT support fraud calls from Delhi or timeshare scams in the Bahamas. My 75 year old father just received certified mail from TRA's legal team, threatening legal action. He was tricked into a deal and has not been able to physically/mentally use a camp ground for years now. Would love to see this company shut down for their shady policies and scare tactics. Reading through the resolutions, seems to say a lot. The responses from TRA are always the same, you have a contract and you owe us money. They are never wrong and the customer is never right. Well TRA, take my 75 year old, broke and homeless father to court. His new address, is due to the fact he lives in my spare room now. We explained this over the phone, only to receive calls non-stop until the legal team entered.
We haven't had the pleasure of being able to stay at the resort
We haven't had the pleasure of being able to stay at the resort. We attend the Maryland RV show on 2/24 and a booked our free stay for May 1. Well with the state of emergency put in place an and business closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic we canceled our trip on March 23. We were told that our deposit would be refunded in 10 business days. On April 6 I called again to ask why we haven't received our deposit back? Again being told only one person does the refunds and they wound email her and tell her it was a priority. As of today April 19 we STILL have not received our deposit back! It is very said that this is their business practice. We would have love to stay at the campground and to see what they had to offer. But giving enough time to cancel and doing everything the ask for the cancellation for them not to hold up their end of returning our deposit. I will be calling again to request our refund and will continue until we receive it.
This is a scam. They had our card on file for automatic payments yet somehow incurred late fees. They wouldn't let us cancel. Services described in the presentation were inaccurate and not available when needed. We paid $8000 for something we were never able to use and fees are added regularly. Still working on canceling and no one can give us a straight answer as to how to get this done. Also when we signed up it was under ***- take the name change as a sign that they are not credible and likely avoiding further fallout from their corrupt system. We did consult with a lawyer that said we have grounds to sue but where things are at in life and expecting a baby in a month I am just hoping to get out even if it means losing the money we threw away. RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.
Their takeover from *** ruined the membership and now it does not make sense to be part of this program. Run the other way people! You can't even camp in their open spots and they have all your money. I have to pay at other campgrounds just to camp this summer and I've paid all my dues up front. But they've changed rules and taken away all power from on-site management ruining the family and friendly feel of the campgrounds. I'm ready to sell and get a seasonal elsewhere. It's sad because in years past I got all my friends to sign up and now I am kicking myself and feel terrible for getting them into this thing they now feel is a scam. It wasn't...but not it is. DO NOT BUY INTO THIS. They are not treating their loyal customers right, nor are they being fair with how things are run.
I was given a membership at TSA many years ago and never realized that the membership lasts forever even after death. I tried to cancel my membership years ago and had to trace to my home resort. Rocky Fork which I did and during the meeting was told the membership lasted forever and then was told if I gave an additional $3995.00 I could get out of the membership. Three days later I received a call thanking me for an upgrade which was never a topic. Today I once again traveled to my home resort and once again gave $3995.00 and supposedly will now be over this nightmare all totallefi hav given TSA over 16,000 dollars and have stayed two day. A terrible business practice taking advantage of people
My husband and I paid mega bucks to TRA and have not once camped or stayed in any park
My husband and I paid mega bucks to TRA and have not once camped or stayed in any park. We paid the original fee and then was contacted that if we paid another fee we could pause/cancel our contract within a certain period or it would carry on to the next generation. We did that to save our children from this expense. Since this occurred my husband has become too feeble to set up and tear down a campsite. I would like to recoup any of the money spent since we have never set foot in our home park at Sycamore Lodge nor any other park in the time we have been members. Now I just received a bill from Sycamore wanting $79.00 for a Covid Response Fee to help with cleaning costs, Covid testing of staff, testing for members, PPE for staff...etc. Are they crazy? I will not pay another cent and I wouldn't pay for their Covid testing even if I had set foot in the park. That is totally ridiculous. This seems more of a scam everyday. I cannot afford anymore money thrown into this.

Is TRA at all concerned with doing the right thing and waiving permit fees for disabled members using DOJ/ADA approved mobility devices, or should I proceed with submitting my online complaint form with the DOJ, and then other organizations including the complaintsboard.com and State of NC agencies? I truly hope TRA does the right thing quickly in this matter so that TRA does not force me to file such complaints given their unprofessional and unethical choices. I look forward to a prompt reply, as the form is completed and ready to be submitted. NOTE: TRA charges documented disabled members fees to use their own personal electric mobility devices, and refuses to waive them. Immoral, unethical, and unprofessional!
Do NOT purchase a TRA membership! They have sold way to many memberships for the sites available to reserve. We have stayed at *** for years and my girls loved it! However, for the last several years we haven't been able to get a site. They won't let us reserve more than 60 days out and by then they are all booked. Unless you can afford the ridiculous cost for being able to make reservations 120 days out there is no point! What once was wonderful is a joke and a waste of money. So disappointing!
We attended the orientation in Gettysburg, where we posed specific inquiries, fully aware of our requirements. Each question was met with an affirmative response, only to later discover that these assurances were false. The membership was utilized just once by us. Given the physical disabilities I contend with, we inquired about the possibility of canceling the membership. We were assured by the representative who helped us that cancellation was possible. Subsequently, we incurred a charge exceeding $900 and the membership was terminated. The following month, I noticed the loan payment was still being deducted from our account. When I sought clarification, I initially encountered evasive responses. Eventually, I reconnected with the same representative, who then clarified that although the membership was closed, the loan obligation persisted. Upon questioning the lack of prior disclosure, she conveniently mentioned that the computer system had been down on that day. Thus, we were informed that despite being unable to utilize the services or receive any benefits from it, we were still obligated to continue payments. Is this what one expects from a family-oriented campground and membership?
Total scam
Total scam. Buy a *** membership but not TRA. Most RV sites - the good ones - are reserved for potential members using their free vouchers to tour the campground AND permanent residents. The 3rd group (contrary to info shared) are sites open to the public. Not a private resort. The sales people told us what we wanted to hear to make the deal. Several different lies were told to us after we specifically explained our situation over and over. We are stuck paying on the loan and yearly for the membership - AND had to buy a Thousand Trails membership to supplement in the area we told them we were mainly interested in. Supposedly we were going to be able to take care of full-time RV bookings with this one multi-faceted program. Wish we could get out of it but don't want to hurt our credit. They need to be shut down. Until then I guess we are stuck with a $15,000 loan for basically a *** membership we could've gotten for under $5k. DO NOT BUY - big mistake!
Trying to reach out to travel resorts is a joke. I tried to call 3 times always goes to voicemail and states we will call you back within 24 hours I have not yet to receive a call. I also tried to get out of this as well because every time I call for *** they are always booked. One camper told me he never calls just shows up and they find him a spot. They told me I could get out of it for 2,000. Last thing can I send them a bill for my covid response fee.
Run far far away as fast as you can from this business. They don't care about their members. Everything is oh call member services and they will assist you. Yeah they don't answer the phone or respond to emails . I will shy everyone away I see trying to join.
Tried to make a reservation 90 days out that my membership allows at two resorts, both show no availability. This has been a issue the last couple of years. But they still sell memberships that you can not use. I see they say the Covid fee is voluntary but the bill does not say that and it is added to the total membership fee on the bill. They say reservations are first come, first serve, but you never get the serve part.
I too am complaining about Travel Resorts Covid Fee. They are trying to charge a Covid Maintenance Fee and if you don't pay it they are trying to charge a late fee on top of that. My maintenance fee has been frozen for 3 years and I don't think they should be charging any Covid Fee. I see a lot of people complaining about it and I want to see who can get some action to this.
WE did the tour of the Gettysburg Battleground Campground, at the end we discussed time share options with a salesperson.
WE did the tour of the Gettysburg Battleground Campground, at the end of the tour we sat down with a salesperson and he explained how Gettysburg Battlefield Campground works as a time share. We were not interested, but we had been offered a free iPad and a $100 gift card for our time. I mailed away for the free iPad and am waiting patiently for it. However, obtaining the $100 gift card has been a terrible nightmare. I went online to the website to redeem the gift card. The salesperson had given me a redemption code. I applied that code and it was not accepted. I have been trying this code for over a week. I contacted the home office of Travel Resorts and they gave us such a run around. Finally, I emailed the home office and requested a new redemption code. They replied with the same code that did not work in the first place. All of this was such a scam! We want people to know, and we also want the gift card and the iPad. Is there any recourse in this matter?

We went to the orientation in Gettysburg We asked specific questions because we knew what we wanted Every question was answered with a yes Only
We went to the orientation in Gettysburg We asked specific questions because we knew what we wanted Every question was answered with a yes Only to find out this was a lie We only ever used the membership one time However because of physical disabilities I have disabilities I have we asked if there was a way we could cancel the membership membership we were told yes by *** who assisted us with this we were charged over $900 the membership was canceled I found out the following month that The loan payment was still taken out of our account I questioned why Got the run around for a little bit finally got hold of *** again and and she explained that that the membership is closed but we still owe the loan the learn I asked why we were not told this prior she she explained conveniently that wait that the computer was down that day So what we are being told even though we cannot use it or will ever get anything out of it we still have to pay for it This is supposed to be a family oriented campground /membership?
Have been a member of TRA for about 5 years
Have been a member of TRA for about 5 years. Its wonderful to be able to make a camping reservation and have it already paid for. We camp at the Gettysburg site most but others are available as well. They have campgrounds from New York state to Florida. You must remember to book whenever the program you bought says you can, because the some sites are very popular, but we have fortunately always gotten a site. Even if I called late I have been able to get a site, maybe not our favorite but the staff always try and assist finding a site if possible. Though holiday weekends are usually full, but they do have a waiting list for sites. I put the day I want to make reservations on the calendar, the number of days in advance I can book, and then reserve on line except for the cabins. Love it and if for some reason I need to cancel or change dates I have had no problem doing so. Everyone I have talked with in the main offices as well as at the individual campgrounds has been very professional an helpful. I am actually sorry we did not join sooner.

Maintenance fee bill received 1/29/2022 and due 2/1/2022
Maintenance fee bill received 1/29/2022 and due 2/1/2022. This is also when we found Midwest Outdoor Resorts had sold to TRA. I called 1/31/2022 to cancel membership and made mention of the late notice. I was informed that they are extending the pay due date to 3/1/2022 since they realized the notices went out so late. TRA put me off all of Feb, Mar and April each time I attempted to talk to someone to cx the membership. I was repeatedly informed that they did not have our account information since the purchase of MOR was as recent as 12/23. On 4/29/2022 I was informed by *** and *** that I would be responsible for a quarter of the maintenance fee since I was late. When I informed them I would not be responsible for the fee and to send me the paperwork they were requiring to cx, I was informed that the membership would not be cancelled and would be sent to collections. I believe their ploy is to put of the customer's cancellation request long enough until they feel they are justified to charge at least some of the fee due. Star rating is zero!

My husband & I joined in the fall of 2019 at Bass Lake
My husband & I joined in the fall of 2019 at Bass Lake. It's extremely hard to get a reservation & then when you do stay there there are TONS of open sites. We were given a coupon for a cabin stay & was told we could use it on Columbus Day weekend then when we got there they said oh no! What! They did allow us to stay in the cabin "they keep open to show people" because we put our foot down. We should have known then there were going to be problems. Since 2020 we have come into hardships financially. I've had numerous back surgeries for which I can no longer work & my husband has been out on disability. We have tried to keep up with the payments until now. We have tried calling Travel Resorts starting with the rep at Bass Lake, who couldn't do anything, then billing to be told to call customer service. No one will help! My husband asked to speak to a supervisor only to be told by her that we owed money & there's nothing they could do until we pay it off! We can't afford it anymore due to these hardships. We asked if they could work with us & was told NO there's nothing we can do. We are frustrated & extremely disappointed in the way they treated us. I don't think in my heart I could ever recommend this company which is too bad.

Was sold a Pioneer program May 4th
Was sold a Pioneer program May 4th. Was told during sales my 43' fifth wheel trailer would be accommodated. Asked for list of Coast to Coast campgrounds to call a sampling and verify they would allow my trailer size. Was told by sales that they didn't have the list, and once I signed the contract in two weeks I would be sent login info. Was never told I had 7 days to rescind the contract, in fact sales assured me I could cancel at any time. Didn't receive login info until June 14th and had to make phone calls to get. A sampling of ten campgrounds on coast to coast site in locations I would potentially visit: Five of them would not allow my trailer size, two of them would allow my trailer size but one was closed "EC - emergency closure" and one was closed for three weeks during the time I looked for a special event only allowing me to register for one Sunday night. Tried to cancel and was told cancelation was not an option because my home state only allowed seven days to cancel contracts. Having to hire an attorney will cost me out of pocket. This is BS. Even car dealerships can buy back problem vehicles and void a contract. This companies sales people lie outright to have you sign the contract. Predatory sales with empty promises to get their hands on your hard earned money.
They talk a good talk but when you want to make a reservation there is hardly anything available
They talk a good talk but when you want to make a reservation there is hardly anything available. Don't even try to bring guests. And their whole 'you can cancel at anytime' is a joke. They don't care if there's a pandemic or if you're struggling to get food for your baby. They want their money and will drive you into the ground to get it. Total time share!
Edit: In response to my review. I have called several times to ask if I could take a break from payments. I have been struggling to care for my family of 6. My youngest is a year old. My bank account is currently-$500. With cut hours at work and daycare times have been tough. Your company has told me that there is no way I can take a break and the representative's exact wording was "hopefully your situation changes before your payment in a couple of days". We do a lot of camping and live 15 minutes away from the campground. The few times I've been able to get a reservation have been great but most of the time I'm told there is not enough room available. The salesman told us we could cancel at anytime. We owe you nothing and you owe us nothing. That we are not marrying the campground. However when I ask to either take a time out from payments or cancel I'm told those are not options. He told us that we can bring friends and family with us. The 3 times I've tried I've been told no. Your company doesn't seem to care about it's members at all.
Update: member services just called me. They are unable to pause my payment. They are unable to cancel my account. They are unable to make decisions regarding payment options. They are not apologizing for the fact that *** (my salesman) lied to my face to get me to sign into this program. Buyer be ware!

If I could give zero stars I would
If I could give zero stars I would. I've been trying to contact this company for years with no luck. At first theyd call me if I missed a maintenance payment but not anymore. no one calls me until it goes to collection. then for MONTHS I still haven't received letters or a call. Spending hundreds of dollars all at one time to keep my credit from going down. It's upsetting. These maintenance fees are ridiculous. they don't reach out to emails or calls. I waited on hold for 30+mins to be told a supervisor would reach out and that was months ago, with no response. They said my account was no longer active because I was in collections and asked if I wanted to re-enroll. I said no, if I wasn't active anymore I just wanted to be done with this company. But still they say I have a balance in collections. I told them a collections agency called and I paid it. They said I did not pay.. So I tried to call the number they gave me for the collections agency and it goes straight to a over full voicemail. How convenient. They also don't tell you that their contracts are for LIFE. I asked if I could cancel after the debt is paid and the people at the place said yes. But now they want 4,000-5,000 $ to buy out the life contract after you've already paid. This company is confusing, and horrible. I haven't used the camping since I got the membership in 2017. I'm at my wits end with this place, and it's stressful to think I'll have to deal with this for life. Also I believe when you die it stays in the family.. so DON'T burden your family with this horrible company. This company has caused me so much stress and financial problems. My wish is to be done with this company and the financial and physical stress it is placing on my family. NOONE should be asked to sign a life time contract that affects not only you but your future family as well.

Last year, October , my wife and I were offered a free tour of the local Travel Resorts of America resort
Last year, October , my wife and I were offered a free tour of the local Travel Resorts of America resort. There was only a handful of campers at the time and during our tour we were told it usually is like this. We were also told it was so simple to make reservations on any of the campsites we would like at any time. Also promised that, seeing we only lived less than a half hour away from the resort, that when we book for 14 days we could leave our camper on the site and stay on the weekends. Told that the camper would be fine during the week unattended. All this was lies to get us to commit to a timeshare. We were told that the tour would only be an hour- they kept us there for 3 and a half hours! We felt pressured into a commitment and they wore us down to sign. every time i said "NO" "Not at this time" "I don't think this is for us" they would pull out some other trick to keep us there and wear us down. They really do know how work their magic because I'm usually firm with a "NO". Unfortunately we signed. When it came time to camp, i never realized how close the sites were and how many people they try to cram into the campgrounds. I felt so uncomfortable being that close to the next camper and only feet away from the neighbor. Trying to book a good site (and there isn't many that have some space) is nearly impossible! TRA has scammed so many members that sites book up immediately. For the price i pay each month compared to how much i use the amenities it is NOT worth it. And now they are attempting to charge members a Covid Response Fee charge of $79.00. WTH! IM DONE! I want out. I don't care for any refund- i just want out of my contract and not pay anymore. This isn't what i expected- I love to camp and get away but TRA isnt for me. I have been duped from day one. Just let me out of the membership. If you care about your members "happiness" and they are important to you, then if they are unhappy respect their wishes...

I bought a camper through a dealership and regret the deal and their deceptive practices
I bought a camper through a dealership and I'm not thrilled with that deal and the deceptive business practices of the dealership in general as related to high pressure selling of warranties and unscrupulous finance portion of the sales process. They try and sell you all sorts of warranty items that cost thousands of dollars. Chances are you will NEVER use them. There are all sorts of bad reviews out this and they will sneak them in there without answering direct questions and you will discover what you actually paid after you leave and review your paperwork. The only reason I mention them here is because this Travel Resorts of America is all part of the scam.
So, on to the real subject of this review. I have been getting all sorts of calls from a number in Berwick, PA. When I answer, it's Travel Resorts of America trying to get me to come to one of their "resorts" to claim my 21 days of free camping. I'm sure somewhere in the many documents that I signed when I bought this trailer, I gave them permission to give my phone number to Travel Resorts of America.
I also read all sorts of horror stories about people being duped into some sort of time share situation with Travel Resorts of America through some high pressure deceptive sales pitch that require both husband and wife to attend so they can play one against the other, sort of like what the dealership did while trying to sell bogus warranties. I read many stories that it's next to impossible to cancel or get out of. I'm not going to find out if this is true or not.
The guy I talked to today from Travel Resorts of America hung up on me after I told him I wasn't interested in buying anything and don't want to come and claim my prize in a rather ignorant manner. So that must mean the word is getting out.
After looking into it and reading all the bad reviews, I don't want anything to do with Travel Resorts of America. I would bet that the calls won't stop.
Terrible Sales People
Terrible Sales People. We joined in 2019 as a deluxe member and in June we got a call from your corporate office offering to upgrade us to premier gold members for around $4400 more, we then went into the sales office at Luna Sands Resorts spoke with a sales person who tried to sell l us like 10,000 to upgrade and we advised him we were offered the $4400 - the manager came out and stated yes they had to offer the upgrade at the 4400 due to the corporate offer being noted on our account, and we paid the full amount that day. We were told we would get new cards showing premium member - NEVER got cards, we were told we get 1 cabin a year for 5 yrs for free up to 2,000 per year. Also Ask Roscoe was part of upgrade. The ask roscoe account still not working from June. I have been into the campground twice in the last 3 weeks to get this corrected. Three weeks ago I was told that I have 1 cabin a year for 5yrs and that it was an IT department error and would be fixed by Tuesday of the following week - we waited two weeks went back this weekend 10/30 due to account is still not fixed. We were told again 1 cabin a year for 5 yrs and that the reason our ask Roscoe account is not working is the VP of sales resigned without correcting our account. Today I called the main office of travel resorts and was advised I do not have the free cabins as part of my upgrade. I have been lied to twice by them in the last 3 weeks right to my face. I know what the problem is, they wanted to sell us a 10,000 upgrade for the commission but could not due to the corporate office offering to upgrade us for a lower premium and they are mad that they did not get their commission. The only reason we agreed to upgrade was the free cabins and the ask roscoe, the other upgrades do nothing for me as I am not retired I am still working and cannot camp 21 days for free anytime right now so that would not have been worth 4900 after taxed and fees to upgrade. This is basically a SCAM and you are lied to and your money is taken and NOONE WILL HELP FIX what you are being lied to about. I did not mean to give this a 2 star review. I tired not to give a star review at all but I could not leave a comment without giving a review. This company does not even qualify for a 1 star review from my point of view
My husband and I purchased and paid for a Travel Resorts of America Membership in 2012 (Gettysburg Battlefield - home base)
My husband and I purchased and paid for a Travel Resorts of America Membership in 2012 (Gettysburg Battlefield - home base). Yes, the sales are misleading. Most are. They did say things about cabins, etc. that were not entirely true. We had also purchased the Coast-to-Coast which we did use for a little bit. We could never get into a space 60-90 days in advance at Gettysburg, and when we make reservations for summer, we plan ahead of that timeframe. In any event, we quickly found that what we purchased was not working. We paid the membership in full and paid off early. Since that time, we have been required to pay $400/yr for maintenance fees. In 2019 we tried to sell-off/get out of the maintenance fees. We were told to come on in and get "id cards" and talk with them. At that time they tried to tell us to buy into another 4k program to get out of maintenance fees. We opted out of that, of course. Those fees continued to be paid quarterly. Oh, and we no longer have our trailer. This past year, we paid for the first quarter then stopped ($100). I have bundled the maintenance before with no issues. I have a cell phone that I cannot use at work and received only 1 of 3 statements. The phone number would appear to be rogue and therefore, I do not answer, if I do not know it. The calls will simply say to please call TRA. I would get these at 6p in the evening, after work. I would call the next day to no avail. Either on hold or dropped. Anyway, all of a sudden when I tried to make a $300 payment online it said our account was no longer serviced. I called some number and after being placed on hold and transferred, I was transferred to a so very unpleasant gentleman, if you want to call him a gentleman, he says that our account was in collection for $300. He was rude and nasty. If we wanted to re-instate our membership it would be $600+. This was to cover for the next year. Yet another year we wouldn't use the membership. So, the $600 would now go to TRA and not collections? I am confused, at this point. Told him I wasn't paying any add'l. $300 for re-instatement but I would pay the $300 owed. Well, you can't do that he said, your account is in collection. Wait, you said I could pay you $600+ and be re-instated? Well, he said you must not want to be re-instated and go to collection? You can call member services but they will send you back to me. Oh, Lord, no, I don't want to go back to you. I emailed member services. Explained the issue and told them I would pay the $300 for this year and did not wish to be reinstated, or could work out. I received a response, sorry, your account is in collection. Oh Dear Lord, they are clueless. I responded back and basically told them their customer service was no customer service. I am trying to work with you all and sell my fully-paid membership that I don't and have never used. If I do not pay the add'l. $300 to reinstate, what does that mean, essentially? I have yet to hear back. Does that mean I no longer have to pay for maintenance fees and not use the membership? I am good with that. They need to get their policies straight and be forthcoming and act like a customer service dept. If I pay a collection company $300 and pay no more does that mean I can stay "unstated", because that is what I want. Pay the $300 to anyone and be done with it. We have no intention on using the membership. What if I sell the membership or give it away. How will the "maintenance fees" work for that person? Do they get slammed with years of maintenance? No one can answer. I am so over TRA. I have heard and read nothing but bad for years, but continued to do my due diligence for 10 years. Biggest SCAM ever!

$40 Refund
I went to the Taste Of Syracuse NY Food Festival around June 2nd of 2024 and Travel America was there promoting Bass Lake Campground. They had told me that they bought Bass lake and was trying to promote campers to use there campground by giving away a free 3 day cabin stay. Then once I like it I could camp anytime I want. Part of the deal was to come up...

Lies..3 lies so far. 1). When my husband and I die, our children and their children will get to go for free. No mention of maintenence fee. 2) we must buy upgrade so that 1 child and 1 grandchild would get to go for free when we die. 3) we could have waiver on maintenence fee in hard times, but NEVER mentioned you would not be able to use for 2 years after. My husband and I both have been on short hours and can not afford this any longer due to extra charges they demand. I have tried to call and cancel contract or just try and get them to work with me but Noone will speak to me on how to cancel it. Misled every step of the way!
Desired outcome: Cancel contact, don't care about a refund on what we have paid into it.

We entered into a contract on or around Labor Day we were new camper owners and didn’t have any information about these memberships. We instantly regretted it because I had been laid off and when we tried to cancel we were told the only way to cancel was to upgrade our membership and then find someone to buy it. The sales person we met with even said many people have tried to get a lawyer to get out of this contract and they have lost! Well here we are a year or so later and we can’t afford this anymore we never could afford the maintained fee, which we disclosed before buying. We were told they would just do a quarterly payment of 100 bucks or so and we thought okay. But now we don’t camp anymore and are trying to sell our camper. All I gotta say is IF YOU’RE THINKING OF GETTING A MEMBERSHIP DONT!
Desired outcome: Cancel membership!!

Will not contact me regarding cancelation
I signed up 6-10-23. I called 6-12-23 to cancel my membership within the 5-day. I was told that that department would not be open until Wednesday I was told that my account was notated. I wish to cancel. This was within 48 hours of signing up. It has now been two weeks I have been hung up on. I have talked to several people telling me that a case has been filed and someone will reach out to me. I have never gotten a call back. I have sent several emails to the impact team at travel resorts.com which is posted on their websites regarding cancellation. According to Google mail, it does not exist. I contacted them well within my time a 5 days to cancel my membership and they refuse to answer me. Now I have a bill here stating there going to charge me

Account number [protected] rv camping package
We were contacted to take a tour of a RV Camping site and receive a $100 gift card for attending. This was at the onset of COVID-19. This "tour" played on the fact of the epidemic and rising costs of houses and rentals. The "sales persons" (so busy the maintenance person was pulled into sales) pressured and pressured us to sign. They used tactics such as "there may not be anywhere to live but you will have the camping" and "if you have this you can live at a site with your RV just have to move every 28 days but you will have a place". I could go on and on about how persuasive they were and how naive we were. I never thought I would be duped like this, but when the fear of homeless is at your door your mind set is to secure something. Once the pandemic went into full mode and we were in lockdown mode our finances went into lockdown too. We couldn't even buy an RV to go camping with. I told them I couldn't make the payments and attempted to cancel but no one would help me. They told me I had to get current with my payment in order to cancel. We didn't get an RV, we were starting to lose everything. Now it went to collections and on our credit report. $14,135.35. We need a place to live and this is preventing us from doing so. WE NEVER USED Anything. I have made payments for something we never used and now they want $3500 to settle; I don't have $3500 to just hand over for nothing. We are trying to get a home and this is the only thing preventing us from doing so.
Desired outcome: Release us of this debt and take it off our credit reports. All of the payments we did make is chaulked up to a bad decision.
Giving full hookup sites to potential buyers
Giving full hookup sites to potential buyers. Not always 50 amp service available. Paying maintenance fee. No available sites when making reservation when we signed up for travel resorts of America we were told we would get full hookups and 50 amp service at the camping locations. When calling to try to make a reservation we have been told there's no full hookups available and just 30 amp when arriving at the campground there are full hook-up sitting empty for perspective buyers with 50 amps. I have tried to make one or two week reservations and then being told there's only three days available. I am not getting what I am paying for. Also l am paying maintenance fee for campground and not being able to use the campground when I like. However potential buyers get to camp and enjoy what I am paying for. Their is not 1 decent campground I have stayed. Gettysburg had a foul odor. The laundry room is so tiny only 2 people can be in there. Sycamore Lodge is difficult to get full hookup. North Shore has very few sights which are safe to park your camper .The campground is on a hill. I fell trying to get into camper. Leaves were not cleaned up on property causing slippery situation. There is no activities. All the campgrounds we stayed needs some sort of maintenance. Maintenance fee paid not being used. appropriately. Unable to be released from contract.

We were also tricked into buying this time share. I have tried to cancel but with a lian you can't until it is paid off. Because of Covid I lost my job and live on my husband income. We can't pay this loan and they offer no help. Also harass us for money when we don't have it. If they would have allowed us to "sleep" on the offer we would have researched, seen the reviews, and would not accepted "membership". All I want is out! If I loose what I've spent that is fine, chalk it up to learning experience
My wife and I were tricked into attending a 90 minute sales pitch by travel resorts of America whereas they stated we have won a tablet as well as a mystery prize valued over $200 and a chance to win $5000 or an atv. Instead of actually winning anything they tried to pressure us into paying $10,000 for a membership to use land that was already granted to my wife and her tribe in the 1868 treaty. Worse part of this is the kids tablet they gave as a prize isn't worth more than $1, probably manufactured in a country with no child labor laws, also we never recieved the gift card that was promised or any mystery gift worth $200. Our time is valuable and yet they have stolen our time as well as the gas it took to drive to this deceptive meeting. Clearly their deceptive and fraudulent practices should be stopped by our great US government. The least this business could do is honor their word and send us the prizes that were promised! An actual tablet, a gift card, and a mystery prize valued over $200. Calling people and telling them they won a prize and then trying to scam them into buying a $10,000 membership is attempted theft by deception and should be punishable!
We were pressured into a commitment. It is not as they said it was. I asked if I could cancel later should my financial status change. They left me under the impression I could but never addressed the question. Now they are refusing to let me cancel without paying more then my account is worth.
Won't work with us and can never get into the campgrounds
Won't work with us and can never get into the campgrounds. Rude and arrogant on the phone. Tired of the way we are being treated and want to terminate At first it was great and were able to always get into the campground. But now we can never get a reservation when we want to. We follow the 30 or 90 day lead time with no success. Our agent ignores our emails, texts and phone call. All they care about is getting the paper work signed and taking your money. They are unwilling to work with you and your contract. Especially with the Covid-19 pandemic going on. Both my wife and I were positive and lost hours/money at work with shutdowns. We have other obligations and bills that take priority over this big SCAM. We are willingly to pay a fee to cancel our membership. This is not worth our time and money because of the way we are treated. Customer service is rude and ignorant with no help at all. They just want your money and could care less about the people that fall for this scam. Yes we haven't made payments lately but we can't afford to do it with the pandemic and other priorities. Everyone else was willing to work with us but Travel resorts of america continue to refuse. What kind of company/business does that to the people that pay them los of money. We are tired of the nonsense and want out. We are willing to work with you and settle this contract to get out!

We were signed up for a membership around March. Our sales rep and her supervisor spent hours making promises about how we would get access with THIS membership to hundreds of campgrounds in America for $10 a night, at least4 weeks of free vacation stays in luxury condos, and highly discounted hotel rates and stays worldwide. Turns out we have to pay yearly for an ADDITIONAL membership just to get those campgrounds, the free weeks are only DISCOUNTED weeks IF there is availability, and the only campgrounds we can stay at are the one in PA and the other in Ohio. MUCH different than what we were told!
I simply want to cancel a membership I cannot use and I need to stop being threatened that my credit will be affected when we are concerned about keeping food on the table. In addition we do not have RV
We were told oh January our membership with travel Resort of America was canceled per our request. We have had our membership paid off for years and we don't use it so we don't want to be a member. They keep saying they will have someone call but they only call wanting upkeep dues. We just want it canceled but nobody will do it. This is the worst place ever. It has never been anything but a lie.
We got tricked into going to a presentation in trade for 2 free nights camping then tricked into to "financing a camping membership" that also included "vacation rentals" that we were told would be easy to book whenever we wanted to go. Plus, they signed us up for a credit union that we knew nothing about until mail arrived! Once we had signed up, initially, we immediately tried canceling immediately because of the pandemic and lack of income. They ignored our request as well as sent our social security and banking account numbers through an insecure email thread! Even though my employment hours were cut due to COVID 19 and they STILL would not cancel. They abused our personal information by going against ALL PRIVATE INFORMATION PROTECTION COMPLIANCE! They STILL threaten collections even though we lost household income due to the pandemic. This company is money hungry and dishonest. We wanted out, especially during this pandemic and they didn't even care.
Deposit paid - no reservation made
Deposit paid - no reservation made. September 15 - Hershey RV Show. We "won" a RV stay at one of the resorts through Travel Resorts of America. We paid $50 to reserve the site for February at Luna Sands Resort. We called Luna Sands three weeks prior to the trip, but they had never heard of us. Luna Sands said they were full and didn't have any sites available, so it wasn't an option. I have the paperwork I was given at the RV show - the OPC name is *** and it shows our deposit, arrival and departure date. I called Travel Resorts of American and spoke to *** (and many other people that they kept transferring me to). *** finally acknowledged the problem, said he would issue a refund within 10 days. No refund. I waited 3 weeks, called *** back, but he wasn't in until 12:30, but *** said he would return my call by 12:35. No call. I believe they lure people in with this "free" trip and a guarantee of your money returned if you listen to their sales pitch, but they are making enough off of the deposit money that they immediately take and then you get nothing in return and you can't get your money back. *** told me the people working the booths at the RV shows directly get the money for getting people to put down deposits. I think the RV shows should know that what these vendors are doing and representing at their shows and not permit they to be there.

I have been trying to contact this business to end my membership. My contract is paid in full and they will not return my call, respond in a chat room as to how I can end my membership. I tried calling and when someone does answer the phone they say they will have a representative get back to me. I tried waiting for the next representative and after a time, they hang up.
Travel Resorts does not communicate except when threatening letters are sent. We do no own an RV any longer but were unable to secure reservations when we did. We have a paid up membership and our maintenance fees keep going up. I pay by draft from my bank quarterly. I have received a threatening letter about not paying a COVID charge. I have not approved the charge and do not feel I should be receiving one. I no longer use or need my membership. They have not been helpful in my turning it in. I am not looking for my money back, just out. I would like to 'gift' it back to them and they can sell to somebody else.
Bought the TRA package in 2014, $10,000 plus). Paid in full within 12 months. Paid yearly maintenance fees every year since ($500plus x7=$3,500). Only able to use this 1 time for 4 days back in 2016 at the most run down campground in Ohio. Every year I try to get out of this timeshare and every year I am told I must sell it privately. I have tried. Asked everyone I know who loves to camp - no one is interested (and one *** search about TRofA explains why). I want out of this waste of money. We were pressured into buying, never able to get reservations anywhere, cuz they must be made within 30 days, and our jobs need our vacation time put in before that. We have paid our fair share of this scam and want out of our membership. Called to talk and was told they are busy and would call back. Everytime. Now I get nasty grams. I don't want to sell this to anyone, I just want to cancel membership. Since we paid in full way back in 2015, I feel it is our right to cancel. They made plenty of $$ off of us. I want out. And the COVID fee? What a joke. That should be illegal - charging a fee for a service we did not participate in. This company is a joke and our biggest financial disappointment of our lives.
Account#*** I am unable to pay the $79 COVID cleaning fee. The increase in storage has left me unable to pay this.

This company will hold information from you and use your information to apply for a credit card without your knowledge for a payment called a "loan". This company doesn't give you all the information when they are talking about there services. They apply for a credit card from Good Sam's without your knowledge. There is no contract that you sign for this credit card no paper work no nothing. They referred this Good Sam's as a loan. When you ask questions the sales person has to run out to the front desk to get the answers and they tell you what you want to hear and that they can work it all out. When its said and done its nothing that was agreed on and then they don't want to fix it when you start getting the additional bill in the mail. They send you home with the paperwork you signed but to find out they didn't add all the paperwork just what they want you to have. When we called to the Gettsburg site where we were at they couldn't find something and they tell you you have to call the financial department. They will tell you you signed the contract. Yes with them you do but with the credit card company you don't but they say it's all on the contract. It's not we have read it over and over and no where does it state that on your behalf they will apply for a credit card in your name for a downpayment. They refer everything to a "loan". So you are made to believe that it's a loan, 1 loan 1 monthly payment. Its not 1 loan 1 monthly payment. You end up with a credit card and a bill each month plus their monthly loan payment each month.

Billing and automatic withdrawal out of my bank account for Covid-19 fees. I was not notified properly and have not used any facilities. I am a new member and my contract I signed states all my maintenence fees and misc fees will be waived the first year of membership. My account has now been overdrawn my agreed monthly payment is about to hit my account but they stated it could take 7-10 days before my is refunded. This company is trying to make money off of Covid-19 pandemic and charging people to keep their facilities clean, when they are already held up to a 4 star standard.
After evaluating the lack of responses from Travel Resorts of America, we would like to take this time to request that Travel Resorts of America either confirms or denies the cancellation for a certain contract. We have been sending documents that require a response to Travel Resorts of America and to this date we have not received a single response. Due to lack of response, we are assuming we have been cancelled out of our timeshare ownership from Travel Resorts of America and are now relieved from this timeshare ownership. If this is not the case, please respond accordingly in relation to the continued matter of our request to form a mutual agreement from our timeshare referenced under a specific contract.
I have a membership with Travel Resorts of America. I received a letter in the mail at the end of 2021 stating that I needed to pay a 79.00 Covid Relief bill for when they provided extra cleaning due to covid. No where in my contract does it say that they can charge extra fees like this. I ignored the bill until a few weeks ago when they started calling me about it. I always pay my bills on time but didn't with this bill because they have no right to do this. I talked to others that have the same membership and they didn't get any bill like this. Some people did and some people didn't. Today, 2/17/22 I went ahead and paid it so my credit wouldn't be harmed. What they are doing isn't right at all. People are on hard times right now and have been for 2 years and to put this extra fee on top of people is ridiculous! I want my money returned because they have no right charging people this fee.
We have been given incorrect information during sales and after signing different information was provided also services was not as said
We have been given incorrect information during sales and after signing different information was provided also services was not as said. My wife and I signed up on 8/22 and were told by the sale team that we will be getting our own temporary login 2-3 business days after signing the contract. We called Sales and ended up being given a login to someone else's account. Sales also said that all purchases through the site was guaranteed or we get 110% refund. We called the sales team since the airline ticket through a free site was cheaper and was told that airlines are not included in the guarantee. They verbally advised us that all booking is guaranteed during the sales pitch to make it more appealing. We tested the Ask Roscoe site and found activities being sold on the site but has been closed. We did book 2 activities and a few days before the activity date we received a phone call that the activity is closed. The second activity was cancelled by the merchant the same day. Now we have funds held on our credit cards for services not rendered. For paying a premium on a site and getting the wrong information is unacceptable. We have sent a cancellation request to the law offices of ***. Their contract only gives you 5 days to cancel. I feel that we have been scammed and placed into a contract and there's nothing else we can do. We reached to customer service and sales which we were given a runaround or to delay. We do have text messages to support some of the conversations unfortunately some are verbal. I hope they allow us to cancel.

Buyer beware
Buyer beware. They promise the stars and moon to get you on board and what you get are lemons. My fiancee and I signed up in November because our sales rep sold us on the idea that we'd get camping spaces whenever we wanted because our camper isn't big. He told us of all the great things we could do at the campground: kayak, canoe, peddle boats, etc but those aren't available because of covid (that's understandable.) We were sold on the amenities associated with a membership only campground. When we finally got our first reservation, we learned that it isn't a membership exclusive campground. The campground has transient campers, folks there on the free camping trip to learn about TRA, and seasonal spots. The campground also doesn't have sewer at all the spots. If we are there for more than 2 days, we have to have the honey pot make a visit and we have to PAY for that service. TRA calls all of the time. We got calls in May and it was a sales rep to upsell us. We were told the upsell would change our monthly rate by 15 dollars. That's not factual. Our rate went from $88/mo to $147/mo. We bought the upgrade based in the verbal increase of roughly $15...not $60/mo. We feel like we are getting calls from TRA constantly. We requested to cancel our membership because we are not happy...the benefits of the program do not exceed the amount we pay. We called yesterday to discuss our impressions, concerns and asked what we needed to do to cancel the membership. We were told we were tied to our agreement until it's paid off in full - once it's paid off, we could sell our membership to someone else. This is no acceptable. We do not feel the benefits meet the monthly investment. We feel hoodwinked and take advantage of by our sales rep(s).

I have been trying to cancel my contract with TRA for over a year now
I have been trying to cancel my contract with TRA for over a year now. I contacted TRA in 4 before the fee was due. I was advised that I would be contacted by a representative to speak to me about canceling it. I didn't receive a call. I called several times after that and still got the same information each time that I would receive a call back. Still no call. My mother passed away unexpectedly in 8, so I lost track of it for a while but then called again and was advised that someone would call me back and again no call back and didn't hear from TRA again until I received a letter from *** Attorney at Law dated 10/20. I called TRA the day I got the letter which was 11/9, I spoke with *** who assured me I would get a call back in 7 days. Again no call. I called 11/23 I was told I needed to speak with Member Services and was given the ph#. Called the # and left a message, no call back. Called on 12/3 spoke with ***, she said I had to speak with the exit department but because no one has called me back she would have her Supervisor *** call me back the next day after 5pm. No call. Today 2/17 I received a call from *** stating that my account has been turned over to them for collections. They said that if I pay $410.96 it would dissolve the contract with TRA. I told them what has been happening with TRA and was advised that the only time TRA lets you get out of the contract is after it goes to collections. I called TRA and was advised that they can't speak with me because my account is with collections. I asked to speak with a supervisor and I was advised that they will submit a request to have a supervisor named *** to call me back. I haven't used the properties in almost 2 years, therefore want to dissolve the contract. This has been explained every time I have spoken with some from TRA.

In fall 2015 we started a membership with Bass Lake resorts of Parish, NY
In fall 2015 we started a membership with Bass Lake resorts of Parish, NY. Originally we had a loan, but it was paid in full in 2016. To date we have paid $6,995.00 in membership cost, $321.17 in interest, and $2,859 in annual dues. Shortly after we purchased we received military PCS orders to *** (2016). "From October 15 to May 1st each year, water is turned off to all sites, and all facilities and activities are closed for the winter season." We were unable to use Bass Lakes that winter (because it was closed) and moved to *** the next year, work schedules did not allow us to use the resort in 2016. Since we moved out of Upstate NY we have repeatedly asked to cancel our membership and were told we would receive a phone call within 1-2 weeks. We never received the call and since we pay our dues quarterly this fell off our radar. A couple of months ago we got hit with the $79 COVID fee. We called and were able to get that fee reversed, I expressed my displeasure in still paying dues since we have never used any of their facilities and were now on the other side of the country and had no access (we now live in ***). I was told that I could "sell it on eBay" or some other method. After listing it on eBay for a month no one wanted it, so we called back and were told "oh you can get out of it, we will put in a consult for our exit department". Today we spoke with their "exit department", they demanded a $3,995 cancelation fee. When we signed up were told we would have dues as long as "we were members," never once did they mention you cannot cancel without incurring a $4k penalty. We have spent a grand total of $10,175.20 without once utilizing any of their facilities. We are seeking a complete cancelation of our membership with zero additional cost. We are willing to eat the $10k as a mistake and a valuable lesson. This is in reference to account number ***.

I was contacted by TRA after buying a camper in December
I was contacted by TRA after buying a camper in December. I visited North Shore Landing and had the meeting in early 2019 since it was very close to my home. Everything seemed great with the sales pitch. I was informed North Shore was also owned by *** and they were in the process of buying them out and make it an exclusive resort. I signed the contract and paid I believe between [protected] for my package. Since that time North Shore Landing is still not private. I can only make reservations within a 60-day period and cannot get a spot. I have tried this for 3 years. The only time i was able was in January for a 1 week stay. Knowing I could stay 2 weeks consecutively, I requested an additional week. They said they could accommodate me but I would need to move spot. The spot they wanted me to move to was so small that if the 40' camper fit I would not have been able to open my slides on both sides due to space limitations. I was verbally told a lot of information that is not correct. North Shore would be private, security was a bonus, and it being private. Currently private individuals can make reservations greater than 90 days out and you compete for spots. I have been told this is incorrect. They have spots slated for TRA and spots slated for private individuals. If all spots on this location are not available for TRA guests then yes you are competing for spots. Also, the keypad gate to enter the location was removed. So anyone can just drive into this location. I tried to call and cancel this membership and was told that my membership was not transferrable and had a no cancellation policy with it and I was liable for whatever maintenance fees are for my lifetime as it was a lifetime membership. However, I could upgrade my membership so that I could transfer it. The sales rep is a representative of the company. Any promises made by them verbally should be honored the same as the written contract.

Pushy sales reps who you can never get in touch with after they get you suckered in
Pushy sales reps who you can never get in touch with after they get you suckered in.Can't get a site when you call. Never any improvements. SUCKS! My husband and I went to Southern Pines on 5/29 and were told they did not have any full hookups. We had to pay someone to pump our tank the day before we left. We rode around and saw plenty of site that were full hookup that were empty. We were told they save those for certain people. We pushed into some really high pressure sales pitch for a timeshare. It sounded great by the time they offered the Coast to Coast, Good Sam's Club and a few other perks. Camping for free at your home base and only 10-15 a night with C2C. What they didn't mention is you cant ever get in at these places because they have black out dates or they don't have full hook ups. We've booked camping sites by looked on the map for a site near a bathhouse get there and NO bathhouse. Get told it was tore down 2 years ago and they never rebuilt it but haven't updated the website. Also, they don't tell you how many times the campgrounds change ownerships and that the new owners decided not to get cable. We tried to call and cancel a few times and were told we could not until it was paid in full. Come to find out in June(a year after paying on it) we owe more now than we purchased it for. How is this possible? We get told it was a deferred interest for the first few month then if it wasn't paid in full all the interest was added back. REALLY!. Then guess what...we get bills needing to renew our memberships to the Good Sam's Club and the C2C What a RIPOFF! This is the worst mistake I ever made. I've already paid over $2400 in something and only stayed on theirs once and C2C twice all times they were dumps. I have spoken to our staff attorney here at the Sheriff's Office and he advised me to stop payment(which I have done), file a complaint here to see if it can be resolved. If not to sue for Breech of Contract. Contract number

Annual Maintenance Fees Refund On 7/1, we paid Travel Resorts of America for 5 years of maintenance fees at a reduced rate
Annual Maintenance Fees Refund On 7/1, we paid Travel Resorts of America for 5 years of maintenance fees at a reduced rate. Instead of paying $1,495.00 we paid $1,196.00. Due to ***'s serious medical condition (stage IV esophageal cancer), we have had to sell our RV, and I have requested that our Travel Resorts Membership be placed in inactive status, and requested a refund of the reduced maintenance fees for the years of 7/1-7/1/2024 which is approximately $956.00. If we had not prepaid our maintenance fees, the fees would be waived for up to two years, and we would not have pay maintenance fees until we would request our membership return to ACTIVE. We are hoping and praying, ***'s condition will improve, and we will be able to camp and use our Travel Resorts membership again, but we just don't know. It's a very serious battle he is fighting everyday. Today, I spoke to Ms., the billing manager at Travel Resorts, and she said she could not refund our maintenance fees, because we paid for them during a promotional offer, and we have already used Travel Resorts for 1 year with the promotiona fee...which made no sense to me. Yes, we were members, (but were not able to use it in 2019 due to ***'s health), but we paid for what we would have used 2019. I'm not requesting a refund of the 2019 fees, just the fees for [protected]. And if we are able to use the membership again, we would pay the full non-discounted membership fee. I asked Ms. to please reconsider our refund request, that I would get a letter from the doctor explaining the seriousness of ***'s illness, and she repeatedly told me my request for a refund has been denied. I explained I understand that she has guidelines to follow, but I also know guidelines can be revised due to very serious medical conditions. I also told her how happy we were with Travel Resorts, and their staff, but her decision was very poor customer service, and I would be filing a complaint. I am hoping you can help us get the refund we are requesting. Thank you for your time.

This company is falsely advertising their membership and providing little or incorrect information to the consumer
This company is falsely advertising their membership and providing little or incorrect information to the consumer. We visited the North Shore location on 8/29. While there, we were given a tour of the facility and also provided information on the membership benefits. After the tour, we sat down with the agent and discussed the packages, prices, etc. After discussing with him, we spoke to the manager/resort operator for TSA and were given additional information. During this discussion, we asked if the membership could be canceled and were told that it could be. We were also told MULTIPLE times that the financing would be through a bank loan. With this information, my boyfriend and I decided to purchase a membership. Approximately 2 to 2 1/2 weeks later I received a credit card in the mail from Good Sam. We never discussed a credit card with the sales representatives and were told on multiple occasions it was a bank loan/credit line. The paperwork from the bank providing the credit card (Comenity Capital Bank) has a date of 8/30 printed on the letter, but I did not receive the letter and card until 2 weeks after purchase of the membership. This made me incapable of cancelling the membership within the 7-period allowed in the contract. I was not provided with complete details and feel conned into something I did not agree to. On multiple occasion my boyfriend and myself have made an attempt to speak with a representative at the North Shore location with no success. We even called our assigned agent only to find he had moved onto a new employment opportunity. My boyfriend made a final attempt at contact someone today 10/29, only to be met with "we cannot cancel" and "it was in you contract." Our contract NEVER mentions a credit card. We even received a disclosure form about our payments and it is even de robe don this form as a "membership" and "credit." Again, this was explained to us as a bank loan. We have also never received any of our many gifts promised to us. I was guaranteed a $100 gift card for confirming our appointment. 21 days of free camping was never mentioned again once we arrived on site for our tour. We've called about these gifts as well to only be told someone would be back with us. TSA is the ultimate con artist, as shown in the other complaints I have read through. My boyfriend and I would like to resolve this through termination of our contract, refunding of the credit card, and making everything bulk and void. I do not wish to invest over $8000 into a "membership" that has started off on a foundation of lies and manipulation. TSA needs to make this right.

Signed up to be members on 8/24 and have been trying to cancel since 9/01 (7) days later
Signed up to be members on 8/24 and have been trying to cancel since 9/01 (7) days later. On 8/24 myself and my fiancé had a tour of the Gettysburg Campgrounds with Travel Resorts of America, with one of their sales ladies, after the sales pitches of ALL the "Wonderful Amenities" and places to stay with Travel Resorts of America we decided to join. During our discussions with the sales person I specifically asked if at anytime we felt we weren't happy with the membership that we could cancel? She stated yes! So we joined with good intentions. On 9/01 a week later, my daughter sent me a picture text showing that I had Received a Credit Card by mail at my old address from Goodsam. That's when I started making calls to TRA for answers. At no time during the sales did she say it would be a CC! Only that I was approved for a line of credit with Goodsam of up to $8000 with a length of up to 10 years to pay It back, or sooner. Had I known I was opening a CC, I would've never agreed to this. A CC does not have a specific timeline to pay it back, so again I was under the impression that it was a regular bank loan through Goodsam. I have been trying Numerous times to reach someone/ANYONE that can give me answers. I did speak to someone in the HR Department that has been very helpful as well as in the billing department for TRA about my issue and that person couldn't help me either, but did agree with my situation about the CC. My credit score has taken a hit and will continue to by having this CC almost maxed out! I tried calling numerous times to TRA only to get a runaround from people taking messages and no calls with explanations. It is extremely difficult to get ahold of someone there. I even tried calling my sales person and left a Voice message but never heard back until today 9/9 by text at a different number that I wasn't given. Granted my fiancé was able to reach her through text at the original number saying I needed to speak with her. I explained my situation to her and that I wanted to cancel the membership and that I wanted have the CC refunded/paid off so that I can close it and be done with this. In her last text to me she stated that they won't cancel the membership and that I should get another loan through another bank to pay off the CC. What kind of answer is that? We have not used ANY of the amenities and don't plan on it. All we want is for the funds to go back on the CC and membership to be canceled being that ALL of this started Only a week after joining. In ALL of the paperwork that was given to us at the time of signing, none of it states that it was a credit card application nor that we couldn't cancel...

Company is unwilling to let me out of my contract
Company is unwilling to let me out of my contract. My family purchased a new travel trailer from Camping World and as part of our purchase we were offered a free camping weekend at a Travel Resorts of America location as long was we took a tour of the property and a sales pitch. The closest property to us was Sycamore Lodge. On our second day there we went on our tour and after the tour was over we went to there office and sat down with *** who was our sales rep. As she was going through the pitch and explaining everything they offered, which included the cancelation form. She presented us with pricing. I asked if we could think about it and she said that this offer (which seemed very grand and over the top) was only available right now and was reluctant to even give my wife and I a few mins to talk. Which seemed to me to be putting a lot of pressure on us to make a quick, spontaneous decision. Being new to the camping world have just bought our camper 6 weeks prior, it seemed to be a good offer and we signed the contract. After getting home and having some time to think about it we decided that we didn't want to continue with the membership and signed and mailed the cancellation from on the last of our 3 days which was April 29. After a week or so had gone by I called to ask the status of our account and to see if it had been canceled and was told that it had to go to our home camp ground and then had to be sent to billing to be processed and the offices were closed to to COVID. I expressed concern about the delay and not wanting all of the billing to start and to get this resolved as quick as possible. They said to give it another week and to call back. After waiting the requested time I called back only to be given no further answer. And they would have to email someone else to get an answer. And that they have not received anything from me and my letter was probably just sitting on a desk. Weeks had gone by after this and I was getting billing calls and mail asking for payment on my membership. I called again and inquired about my cancelation status and again they had no answer and needed to email someone about it. After another week or so I received a call from the Manager of their Florida location Luna Sand (I don't remember his name). He said that he would check into it and call me back. I never heard back from him. By this point my billing due dates had come and I was being asked to pay. I delayed in attempt to resolve the issue. After another week or so I called there membership services line and was given the same answer and another email had to be sent. After a few days I received a call from the same Manger of Luna Sands. I asked if he had found out if my letter was post marked and if I could cancel my membership. He never answered the question directly only saying that it was to late and my account had already been processed and sold. And there was nothing that he could do. It seems as though this company is set up to run as slow as possible so that nothing gets precessed in time to help a customer in my situation. Using high pressure sales tactics and delaying paper work so that the customer is forced to pay thousands of dollars to just to get out. I don't know why they want to keep me as a customer when I don't want to be. Other than trying to take as much money from me as they can. Total amount due and account numbers : Travel Resorts of America: *** - $5845.50 Good Sams Visa Credit Card- *** - $1458.17

Travel Resorts of America falsely represented all costs and lacked full disclosure at time of sale as failed to resolve the issues at hand
Travel Resorts of America falsely represented all costs and lacked full disclosure at time of sale as failed to resolve the issues at hand. In mid October , my wife and I attended a free tour and sales pitch at Gettysburg Battlefield Resort in PA. for Travel Resorts of America (TRA). Their membership was portrayed to be upfront and appealing to us. We spent a long time asking very specific financial questions about joining. The answers provided appeared to be satisfactory. Unfortunately we later learned that wasn't the case. After noticing issues on our monthly bills, I had contacted TRA about them. The issues were, 1. The principal balance shown on the bills never lowered with each payment that was made, 2. the principal balance was not what we were told our cost would be and was almost $1,000.00 more, 3. The maintenance dues were being billed to us even though they were to be included for the first year of membership,, 4. The payment made last month was never credited to the account and showed a past due balance. I contacted our salesman about it but he was on vacation so I called TRA Member Services to resolve these issues. I was met with a less than helpful and somewhat rude attitude once I explained the problems. I was told that "I agreed to the terms on the bill" and basically the information I was given during my tour was not correct. When I then requested to terminate our membership, I was told I couldn't and the documents will be emailed to me to read. I got the email and read through it. The one document emailed to me shows all these added expenses and fees on top of fees which I never got in my welcome packet to review nor believe we actually signed because had I seen it, we never would have agreed to it. I informed TRA of this fact. The document I got at the time of joining states the final cost of $8,495.00. When I questioned our salesman about pricing, at the time of joining, I asked "what exactly is the final cost with all taxes and fees? Simply put, because I don't like surprises". He showed me the pink sales receipt with $8495.00 shown and said that was it. Because of the false representations, lack of full disclosure at the time of joining, misleading information provided at the time of sale, and added expenses to our original agreement... I informed them I'm terminating our business with TRA. The following correspondence was sent to TRA. The salesman's name has been redacted with "X"s... I have all documents from that day except for this one, in the screenshot I just took from your email that's shown below. I would not have agreed to this. I asked XXXX for the final cost with no hidden fees etc. He showed me the pink $8495 paper which I had no issue with. We'd pay it off before May and no interest... no big deal. But now I see it's almost $1,000 more AND the maintenance fees are NOT included for the first year, as I specifically asked about. Furthermore, we read each page that evening with XXXX XXXXXXXX there, and the one shown below was NOT in our agreement packet. Again, I wouldn't have agreed to this nor would ***, had we gotten this document. Because of this, I am not comfortable dealing with a business that has hidden fees, no full disclosure, misleading information given, and leads me to believe is operating under bad business practices. I'm an up front, straight forward person, and expect the same from all persons I conduct business with. I no longer have that relationship with your establishment. So as of today I'm ending our business relationship. It's a shame, because I did like the one facility we saw. The only document we got from TRA, at the time of sale, was the pink receipt and is added to this complaint. The white "full disclosure" document they claim we signed with them, even though I informed them we had not seen it, it was not given to us for review, and we never would've signed it if it was given to us, is also attached. Had it been provided, we immediately would've rejected their offer. Also if we had it in our welcome packet for review, our business with them would've been terminated immediately.

Was sold a "visit" in PA and asked for a pull thru full hook-up with 28' RV but arrived and was taken to a spot with water and electric for 10 days for 26' RV. No trees, pool was miles away and bath house looked like had never been cleaned. Told had to pay for black water tank pump out on M, W & F at $25 each time. What a scam and you better run away. If this was a resort, ti hate to see what else they try to sell you...
I responded that I had won a $100 gift card and a tablet, and when I called, they said I had to pick it up an hour away at Gettysburg Resort. So, I didn't go initially, but then we got a salesperson to talk us into a tour and a complimentary three-night, four-day camping experience since we owned an RV. Subsequently, we were being persuaded to join the Travel Resorts of America membership. It all seemed reasonable at first, but our initial monthly fee doubled, and the exorbitant maintenance fee was due every three months at $177. I immediately tried to cancel the membership but could never get through. I also never received my tablet! Since I couldn't get through, over two weeks went by, and it was too late to cancel. I regret ever signing this contract! To make matters worse, no campgrounds are even close to me, which I discovered after looking through the book. It's a complete mess!
