Warrantywise Warranty refusal by warrantywise

I have damaged timing chain warrantywise reject repair they answer

I regret to inform you that on this occasion your repair has been declined. Your repairer wishes to replace the following part(s) on your vehicle: 1)Timing chain repair We instructed a second independent vehicle examiner to inspect your vehicle who has confirmed. In our opinion based on the visible evidence we would conclude that the evidence found at the time of our inspection is consistent with wear and deterioration of the timing chains, causing the chains to become loose. The damage found to the bottom timing chain guide is consistent with timing chain slap. The fully extended top timing chain tensioner is also consistent with the timing chain becoming slack due to stretching, due to wear and deterioration. This has also caused the camshaft sprockets to become worn in appearance. The condition is wear and deterioration and some drive on damage has occurred. The fault would have been evident in the form of heavy rattling type noise. We are therefore of the opinion the chain has not suffered a failure as defined and drive on damage will have occurred as confirmed by the independent examiner. The plan excludes worn parts, parts which have not suffered a sudden failure and any drive on damage. We are therefore unable to progress your request I am sorry this is not the outcome you expected. If you have any questions or any new information you wish to be considered please email [protected]@warrantywise.co.uk within 30 days of the above date.

Please help me to get repair sorted out.

Desired outcome: Refused and not paying

Warrantywise Extended warranty

False engineer reports Contradicts Dealer and Manufacturer

The company is a scam and not worth the paper its written on.
Will not pay for the repair when I am totally covered but they are giving false engineer report to avoid paying when the Manufacturer and dealer has told them otherwise. My email to them and no reply since.
Dear Sirs,
Thank you for your recent communication.

Having considered your engineers report and its finding I find it hard to believe your engineer could have come to such a conclusion without inspecting the vehicle by removing the necessary parts.

For your information please see attached images provided by Volvo and the forwarded email below also form Volvo.

The engineers at Volvo have confirmed the issue identified is not a result of "wear" but a result of sudden failure of a mechanical component. In the event this part failed it would cause a shut down of the vehicle as it did at the time the incident occurred and I required emergency recovery.

Your allegations the part was faulty at the time I took the policy are completely unfounded, it would not be possible to drive anywhere in the event the part was found to be faulty some 3000 miles ago.

As result of the Volvo report and as evidenced in the enclosed images the "engineer" report you have provided seems to be some what of a guess as to the fault, I would have expected the engineer to provide a detailed report to confirm the fault not a guess. Volvo have confirmed the engineer attended the premises and spent around 7-10 minutes to identify the problem, the process used to identify the problem as witnessed by Volvo was "drove the car in circles" and then "glanced under the car", this to me does not sound like the correct way a diagnoses should be conducted.

To conclude Volvo (Hatfield) have now repaired the vehicle as your service standard fell short of what one would expect. Your "engineer" report and the way you have conducted yourself throughout this process has left me feeling disappointed with the service I have received. It has also become clear you are not willing to accept that a warranty for a vehicle is taken out to ensure such incidents are covered. I also feel as a organisation your initial attempts are to get away with paying noting and to sell an insurance policy which is not worth the paper its written on, I feel I should also make other consumers aware of the sub standard service I have received.

REPLY TO YOUR REPLY ON MY REVIEW
Again you give false information as there has been no independent engineer that has given a report. On both occasions the same engineer employed by warrantywise wise came and made the same report. According to law an independent engineer means both side have to agree on the independent engineer, not you sending out the same engineer either working or contracted by warrentywise. The courts will decide when I take the matter futher.

Desired outcome: To pay for the repairs

Warrantywise car warranty

I had a issue with my vehicle I got the form that they say they needed to give me a job claim number once the issue has been found . The car was in the garage for 3 days, diagnostic, numerous road test and 2 fault codes which can mean numerous issues. My garage tested over the 3 days and eventually fitted the part that would eradicate the fault . All completed professionally our end then because a piece of paper was not filled out to get authorisation they refuse to pay out . Embarrassed with Warranty wise I had to pay the garage as they had helped out so much and i needed the car back, they charged me 1 hour labour as the felt it was not my issue it took so long, 50 pounds for the diagnostic and I paid for the part all for a small sum of 241.73 inc vat. All was done in good faith but Warranty wise are not reasonable, they refuse to uphold there end all because procedure was not carried out . Some times I think they dont live in the real world and understand the whys and wherefores in a garage atmosphere, the garage was aghast at their incompetence and has never dealt with such a poor company, AA and RAC never turn a trick like this he said, and the attitude of the gentleman at Warranty wise was something to be desired, very rude and condescending when trying to sort out the claim or ask for a manager to speak to . Please stay away from this company no flexibility and they look like they are tarring everyone with the same brush, the honest genuine claimant falls by the way side.
WW please feel free to email me any time .

Warrantywise car warranty

Had the warranty for 4 months. Had a sudden breakdown of a part which went before the manufacturers guideline of 65k, my car has only done 35k. Warranty wise declined the repair on wear and tear. Their website saiys no weasel words, but when you make a claim they will try and find any excuse to wiggle out of the claim. No one is helpful in their team. I am going to open a small claims court in order to get the monies I paid towards the warranty as these lot are the biggest scammers I have seen.

No wonder they are not regulated by the fca or ombudsman. Its so that they can do you over.

Trying to dodge paying out for legitimate claim!
I called for Out of hours (Problem was Easter Sunday) and they said it was fine to progress.
Broken spring!
Submitted claim and they come back with excuse after excuse.
1. Not out of hours
----Not when it happened, and approved on the phone that day
2. 'spring is wear and tear, like a brake disk'
-----Had to go back with VW advise that it is NOT
3. You did not follow out of hours procedure to the leeter
-----Apparently following their 6 clear steps as per the web-site is incorrect, you are supposed to wade through other pages of details
I have heard nothing good about these people, they must just be cheap warranties for garages to provide.
My opinion of Quentin Wilson has definitely gone down

Warrantywise declining a claim

I've covered less than 600 miles since buying a car covered by Warrantywise. The handbrake stuck on causing the rear wheels to get hot. The car had a full service and new MOT when I bought it but Warrantywise denied the claim saying it was wear and tear. How much could it have worn in 600 miles? As far as I'm concerned it's not worth the paper it's written on.

Warrantywise Warranty on car

Warranty Wise - Customer Experience Review - By Richard Whitaker

Summary

Warranty wise is a complete rip-off - highly recommend not to use them - you might as well burn your money. If you don't believe me then read on to get a taste of my experience.

Cover

I bought a second hand van 'Vivaro 1.9 CDTI, 56 Plate, 73, 000 miles' - advertised with three months warranty. There were other vans cheaper but I chose this van as it came with 3 months warranty. Cover was classified as 'Silver' which was the second highest cover on their flyer at time of buying.

Problems

After 1, 200 miles of moving furniture from London to Newcastle - I dropped the van off to KwickFit, London with the following explanations of problems:

1. 'Power surging due to problem with Turbo'.
2. 'Oil leak'.

After contacting WarrantyWise they basically say 'you pay for diagnostics, if your covered for the problems we'll reimburse you for the cost of diagnostics'. I though 'that's fair enough I'm sure there is legitimate problems covered by the warranty'. NOTE: If your not covered for the part then you do not get reimbursed for diagnostics costs.

KwickFit Diagnostic Results

Turbo surge. Cause: split pipe.

Oil leak. Cause: gearbox - needs to come out to determine what the cause is - approximately 7 hours additional diagnostics labor required.

WarrentyWise Response to Diagnostic Results

'We only cover £35/hr labor and diagnostics'. KwickFit guy 'I don't know a garage that charges less than £50/hr - our rate is £65/hr - we see this all the time from WarrentyWise - total rip off - your not covered - if you listen to them properly you'll understand they'll only end up covering about half the costs if you lucky'.

Turbo surge: 'non of our warranties cover pipes and therefore we are not covering repair or diagnostic costs'.

Gear box: further diagnostics required.

My response

I could not believe a WarrantyWise do not cover pipes. How many pipes are in a typical vehicle! I realised I was being ripped off so dug deeper to see if they would actually cover the gearbox.

Contact with WarrentyWise

So my guess is a seal or bearing is the problem on the gearbox - am I covered? I rang WarrantyWise to check I was covered. They said they wouldn't know until the further diagnostics results were in and tried to end the telephone conversation. So at this stage they were happy for me to take the risk (probably in hope I would scrap the vehicle). Obviously - I wanted to know if I was covered before taking a £1, 500 risk on my own. So upon digging deeper, in terms of gear box:
■ I'm not covered for worn out parts! (non of the packages cover this).
■ I'm not covered for design faults! (non of the packages cover this).
■ I'm covered only for wear & tear if it is specifically only the driveshaft/gearbox seal. Further if the van is more than 10 years old OR has more than 100, 000 miles on the clock I'm not covered - so I'm not covered. WarrentyWise said 'read pages 10, 11, paragraphs blar blar blar of silver black book you can download from our website'. This sounds like lies to me.
■ Outcome

I bought a van with warranty which does not cover any of the faults which in my eyes are common problems - think about it 'power surging' or 'oil leak', hardly a unique problem for a vehicle.

How I feel

I feel stupid. In my mind I now categorise WarrentyWise as those ### payday LOAN companies such as Wonga (never used them but they were on the news) that ripped people off and were forced to shut down because of government legislation.

What I'm going to do.

Post my experience (the above) to as many forums and review sites as possible.

This world is so sad these days - companies are legally stealing. Carma is my friend though - that's what gets me though rubbish like this.

WarrentyWise do not have an 'alternative dispute resolution process' in place therefore court action is my only option.

So why are they trying to sell more to me when they know its age! Stay away!

Warrantywise Warranty cover a total waste of time and money

Ok so i bought my range rover in January and was given a 6 months warranty with the garage. I opted for a silver package which covered a few more possible problems so i was on the safe side but at a little more cost.
3 weeks ago my wife came home and said there was a bit of a knocking noise from the engine. i checked it all over and told her not to drive it and ill call warrantywise as i was covered. They advised me to book it in for diagnostic test but i did mention i was concerned it could break down on her! Low and behold only 1 mile up the road it broke down. I got recovery out and it was towed to a range rover garage who told me it was the crank shaft that had gone and would need a new engine at a cost of £9000... Warrantywise said tat the maximum they would pay on a silver package would be £2000... So before they could proceed with the claim they sent out an independant engineer to make sure i wasnt trying it on but i got a call back to tell me that because the part was not accessible they needed the engine to be stripped out by the garage. The garage said they can do this but at a cost of over £2000 which basically leaves me backed against a wall.. This is a total frustration and a waste of time and i have contacted the ombudsman and also the citizens advise bureau.

I had very same thing and still ongoing with them. I'm building a website about their treatment of customers. Come join us when its up and running fully, should be a couple of weeks once i get my legal advice in place. Just change the dotcodotuk to dotscot and thats my site 😉

Just wondering if you got the wear and tare rejection first then your inspection was done by a clown who slept with a mechanic?

So what was the end result?

Warrantywise Warranty

To cut a long story short - need my van to keep working. Was told by WW to send a covering letter explaining I had paid for repairs upfront to keep working. But the fact I didn't get repairs authorised was enough for WW to refuse to pay a penny of the £1000+ work. The company is a scam. Many garages won't do any work for them. Most independent garages recommend you don't use them. I learnt that a bit late. Just google the company name and add scam after it and you'll see some of the fraudulent activities this ripoff company gets up to

Warrantywise non payment insurance warranty

car had a sudden and unexpected breakdown that came out of the blue and was of an electrical/mechanical nature, called warrantywise and vehicle duly recovered to garage. Car was a non-start/non runner, at which point they asked for an emissions test, then when the garage found the fault by fitting an egr blank, warrantywise claimed this invalidated the warranty as they didn't know how long it was fitted for. When it was proved that it only went in for diagnostics, the claim was then rejected as being within the first 30 days of the policy on the grounds that this was premature failure. I say again premature failure as in failed before it should have. When it was pointed out to them that Seat Uk only warranty an EGR valve for 3 years on a new car and that if a replacement is fitted for 2 years, they then dismissed the claim stating in that case its past its life and we cant be responsible for a worn out old part. When I replied, I got an email stating that exhausts are not covered, Then another stating egr valves are covered but only if the car fails an emission test. Well mine is a non-runner so cant pass an emissions test and by their own wording has suffered a sudden failure of a mechanical/electrical component. Still not covered, so my four year old car with only 42 thousand miles on the clock either has premature failure or is old and I knew it was going to fail. Having to now go down the legal route as the company is looking for any escape/get out of jail card. Would be interested to hear from anybody who has fought them and won or who can recommend the right solicitor rather than a general one. I have all the emails contradicting each other and contradicting the warranty book.

Rang them & was treat like a criminal being patronised by the customer service advisor stating the fault could not of simply developed before claim took out! I am disgusted on how i have been treat & disgusted that they can get away with charging extortionate fees for a warranty that is useless as well as the fact that they will give you any old line to not pay out by turning the matter on you

If you want to buy car warranty DON’T BUY WARRANTYWISE!!! They will never pay out, I am talking out of experience and how they made me suffer!! They will only pay out for little claims e.g. £20-50. When it comes to big payments like £500+ they will never pay out. Why pay hundreds of pounds to Warrantywise for the Warranty when they wouldn’t even pay out...
