incredibly annoying
I expressed online interest in setting up a website. Immediately, I realized the service was not for me. They emailed me incessantly. I responded to their assault with all the normal procedures- unsubscribe, email back, and eventually contacted them directly. They responded by phoning me every day, several times a day, until I finally answered. I demanded they stop bothering me. The calls continue to this day. I answered today and made terroristic threats against their shins.
they didn't cancel my account when I requested
Web.com owes me a refund of over $1200 and has yet to respond to my claim! I was playing around with a few different sites online and saw that web.com had a site for $3.12. I set up a couple in order to try out a few different option and then forgot I had even set it up until a few months later when I saw 3 different charges for $35 for the previous 3 months. I called immediately and told them that I needed a refund and to cancel my account. Apparently they only cancelled 1 and left the other two going. I had set this up with my savings account, which I never look at and now see that they've been billing me for the past year and a half! I called multiple times and keep getting the run around... I will be going on all media sites and express my concerns until my accounts are refunded in FULL!
it's a scam
they advertise hosting for $0.50 a month but after 1 month they started charging you $14.95. To cancel your account you need to call them, and they make you wait hours and hours They are crooks, I hope the police close them down. they have caused damages
On or about October of 2014 I ordered a new web site from Web.com, at www.snakebyteproductions.com . Approximately 1 year later, around October 2015, about 6 to 8 weeks ago, I contacted Web.com to "update and modify my website, and add an ecommerce platform" They recommended that I build the new design at a new web address, temporarily, at www.snakebyteproductionsllc.com, then when we are satisfied with the new design, we simply migrate it over to the original web address at wwww.snakebyteproductions.com. Well, after more than 7 weeks of triffle and angst building the site thru errors, mistakes, poor workmanship of the multiple layers of people at Web.com, approximately 2 weeks ago, I decided to approve the new design and go ahead. (Because we had made public announced pre scheduled launch dates, we basically settled for the errors on the launch date and decided to remedy after launching... even then they didnt launch the new site till 3 days after the announced date... super unprofessional!) Well, guess what, it gets worse... Web.com lost my public image phone number handed out and displayed on the web site as well as painted on our vehicles and handed out in biz cards and publications for the past 14 months in the process of launching the new site. I was informed this by the Senior Business Administrator of the Screen Actors Guild by email notification, yesterday? How embarrassing do you think that was. Someone I have been waiting for a return call from for 2 months, informs me my business phone number is no good? I immediately contacted Web.com (tested first and confirmed his info was correct)... and sure enough... the "number was no longer available", according to Web.com... OMG! are you kidding me!~! The number we built our whole business around for 14 months, lost... how could this be? Web.com provided me with the "third party" carrier, Telmetrics, who originally provided that number. I got up at 430am pst to be sure I could reach them by the time they open this morning (8am est), and sure enough, they confirmed, the number was "deactivated" by Web.com, but was still available... so now I am back on the phone with Web.com, attempting remedy in retrieving that phone number. I do not have much confidence at all left in Web.com. After 100's of hours on the phone, in utter frustration, attempting for 8 weeks to get our platform correct for our business, and now, this phone number debockale... I have about come to my end. I look forward to today and seeing if we FINALLY have the website launched with all data, numbers, content, etc of our website, finally up and working! This company Web.com has been nothing but grief and frustration... even anger... and I am never an angry person... they have caused damages to this business and need to find remedy, ASAP! billing and service
I received a free trial of this over 2 years ago - I chose not to purchase the service but have been unable to get it cancelled since. I have been billed for 2 years and there is no way to cancel without cancelling my credit card or paying my bank to block them. When I have called, they have insisted they have to call me on a phone number which has been defunct for 2 years. When I tell them that, they say I have to cancel online;; when I try to do it online, it tells me I have to do it by phone. I have told numerous individuals over the last 2 years that I do not want their service, but somehow, they never make a record of the calls and the billing continues. I noted there have been numerous complaints filed with the better business bureau but that does not seem to have made a difference. Has anyone contacted the US Attorney about this company?
dishonest, underhanded and unreliable
This company is very dishonest, underhanded and unreliable. Their pricing was extremely deceptive so when I figured out what the cost really was I tried canceling my hosting.
I first tried calling them to fill an complain form by log in to my account. Nothing happened since.
I then tried calling to cancel my hosting. The operator switched me to someone whom he said will help me.I waited about 20 minutes before someone came on line. I requested cancellation; they then switched me to another person who came on line about 5 minutes later. I was again told to be switched to another person. However, I was then cut off by them. And since then I got nothing back from them.
I felt I was trapped by this rubbish company. I'm looking for a way to get out. Who can help me?
non-existent service i'm being charged for
About a year ago, I was thinking about building a web site. I went on web.com, paid a couple of dollars to access the site or whatever, then decided to go with another web build company. Web.com have been charging me around £18 for doing...absolutely nothing. These people are crooks, there is no way of contacting them, no email address or anyone answering the freephone number.
They are complete frauds. Beware.
£18 a amonth
shabby service, unprofessional, very slow
I employed web.com to make a professional site for me; If you dislike the web page and want to change it the "modifications team" take 5-7 days (supposedly) to make those changes. If you have one little request for a change it takes another week. I think it takes longer than that but... They have got your money now they don't care about your wants or needs. You can get a copy of visual basic and learn to make a more professional looking site in the time it takes them to get around to altering your site! It's a sham! www.hissyclean.com Check it out, looks like my Grandmother built it!
fraud company
They are awful, unprofessional, rude, evasive, a whole bunch of lairs who promise a lot but fail to deliver. They won't forget to charge your credit card though. They would intentionally do everything to put you out of their "grace" period range to use it as a reason to deny you your refund. Do not ever deal with them. Ever. Ever. Ever.
Fraudlent operation, dishonesty by Web.Com
This company takes your money, afterwards they lie to you, and provides no usful services, what so ever.
Upon your final departure from them, they take down your web site, which you paid them to provide.
They take your money, however after promising to support your website, they do not do so. Web.Com provides the worst personal services possible. They are among the worst people, whom I have ever done business with, within the 58-years, which I have been in business.
You shall not receive any useful service from them for the money spent.
They refuse to serve you, as they are the worst ever, for providing any customer supoiort, only more lies.
Please, take a look at their Better Bureau ratings, after more than 700- complaints their local BBB, provides them with a great rating.
It truly makes a person wonder just how many thousands, of dollars annually, this crooked company pays, to their local, Better Business Bureau.
The true amount, must be staggering, in order to get these crooks, to provide such a great rating. The BBB are crooks, just as, Web.Com.
Their companys bad defective dishonest service
Web.Com promised us the moon, but we only, received the shaft.
They took our money, and claimed they were supporting, our Facebook Pages, however, I was the only one, whom ever spent, any money, supporting this site.
They also promised us, first page on Google, however, this never happened, as they only took our money, and ran with it.
They provided, some of the lousiest, low qauality service possible.
They always lied to me, in reference to any, and all subject matters. Please, do not destroy your potential wealth, by fooling with these dishonest folk.
I filed suit against them, and they filled the court room with lawyers, and additional con artists, to defend themselves in my law suit.
You cannot sue these people as they ahave fixed things, to where they are immune to any law suits, so they can continue to rip the folk off, just as they did my company. All folk must stay away from these people.
utter failure!
Web.com is a failure for my business and parasite to my account. I signed up in January and checked "Perfect Privacy", got side tracked, and never took my site live. Last weekend, a shakedown artist contacted my personal email threatening to create a porn site with a similar domain (.com vs. .org) name if I didn't pay him money for the parallel domain name. -Trash my fledgling business name or pay up! I immediately contacted Web.com who said I had checked perfect privacy back in January, but for some reason it was not applied until 5 June. I asked them who applied it since I hadn't been into my account in months. They have no answer and think that it is perfectly acceptable for me to have paid for something and not received it. I now have to rename my business that I have been slowly building on my weekends off, design new logos, and come up with a new website domain name. Thanks for nothing, Web.com!
you sign up, then they use your info to harass you!!!
I received an email offering me some kind of special that included a free domain name. I signed up and within hours, I started receiving emails from everyone and his brother. I mean 15-20 a day. They even texted and called me. I was shocked that a company would so blatantly, unabashedly use information they received from people signing up for their services to spam them. What's worse is that they will sell you out to other people who will then also spam you so that you are being swamped by junk. They arrogantly abuse your information, violate your trust and do it so in your face, it's appalling and I plan to trash them all over the Internet.
I have had web.com for a long time and it seems that as of late, the spam to my website email is getting worse. It seems no matter how I try to filter the spam on the webmail site I am forced to use, the worse it gets. My only option is to forward the email address to gmail which filters out better. I am very frustrated with web.com's webmail because it doesn't allow a "report spam" option like all other email programs offer. Perhaps they just don't care that their customers are getting spammed all over the place - perhaps contributing to it - because if they cared, they would offer their customers a way to mark the emails as spam rather than filtering out all emails in order to get them to stop receiving them. For the monthly fee I pay for my website, I should be offered a better email option than web.com currently has.
Dear Kbelchere,
Thank you for your comments. We appreciate all feedback, positive or negative. Rest assured, we use this information to continually evaluate and improve our internal processes, service offerings and customer interactions. It is neither our goal nor desire to spam our customers. We do follow accepted standards and privacy practices. When it comes to domain registrations, there are certain emails that customers may unsubscribe to others, others that are required for proper maintenance of the account, including some by law. If your issue has not been resolved, or you wish to add additional information, we ask that you please send us your contact and account information, and details of this post via the following link, so that we can help you: http://support.web.com/.

outright fraud
I am a senior citizen in my 70's, so I'm kind of dependent on my wife, who works most ever waking moment 7 days a week. She had more serious priorities and at the same time shielded me from all finances. So, on Saturday I answered the phone call from Web.com who told me they were denied payment. I asked what the payment was for? They told me a website. In fact, I distinctly remember declining the service in late 2006 . Yet, I inadvertently discovered they had been siphoning over $136 from my account totalling near 14K. Money that had I had, could pay for missing essential nutrients needed to recover my energies and return to my profession. So, I asked for a refund, since the payment was taken in "error" because NOTHING of value was received from them as I had declined their service. They told me they had no record of my declination. Well it turns out this apparently is by design, given the hundreds of complaints. So, if you too have been scammed by this greedy company, please file your complaints with the FTC, the Florida Attorney General, so they can be influenced by the numerous complains to sue them for a refund and cease this Criminal Activity.
web.com refuse to cancel if you do not
my response to them via mail
Good Day
It appear as if you deliberately continue with your “scam” by forcing a person to phone, which informed you that it incur further cost.
YOU ARE MOST WELCOME TO PHONE ME!
Why did you not use the same tactic in the beginning, I was never forced to phone in the beginning in fact you could not even provide assistance from the beginning.
I do not have skype or any other means to phone therefor making contact in writing, you leave me no other option but to report you as well as opening a fraud case which include the un-authorised debiting of my bank account.
Will report this to my banker as well.
Please send me the recording where I made contact telephonically!
I hereby inform you once again that I am not interested and never will be, furthermore take note that I indeed informed you during my first complaint that you should cancel and that you did not have the right.
You can refer to any clause you like, our legislation state clearly we have the right especially if you as the service provider failed to deliver. YOU HAVE IN WRITING ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHERE I EXPRESSED MY DISMAY WITH “WEB.COM” AND EVIDENT AS I DID NOT CONTINUE TO DEVELOP THE WEBSITE!
I could not even complete the website as well as experienced login problem, you can see that the site was not utilized from the beginning as well as my complaints of which I kept record of

cancellation
I'm trying to cancel my subscription with web.com, but their website is not allowing it, there's no cancellation button, it's indicated that I need to contact one of their support, I already did, I ask them to cancel my subscription and I got no response. This is totally ridiculous! This webhosting company is a total scam!
ongoing unauthorized charges to credit card
Do not fall into their trap! Web.com has made ongoing unauthorized charges to my credit card. Do not fall for their listed prices on their site; the hidden information is in their "services agreement" about how much they are really going to charge you, which for me has been:
January 2015: $3. 58 - the price i expected to be charged for one year as this is what was stated.
February 2015: $43. 23
March 2, 2015: $50. 08 & march 29, 2015: $50. 34 - - - - - - - ***two*** bogus charges in one month!
April 2015: $48. 60
Moral of the story: do your research before signing up for anything. I wish i would have looked into any prospective complaints before blindly signing up with these ###s. These people are crooks and will steal your money without your knowledge. There's a reason why there are thousands of complaints. Please don't be the next victim.
After cancelling my service over the phone twice they still spam me with phone calls and are charging my bank account with unauthorized charges. Avoid using Web.com at all costs.
They totally misrepresented their company web.com. Bad customer service, bad seo company and a totally rip - off
Don't take my work for it go to the bbb
When i wouldn't pay their fees to help build my site the belittled me and told me i could not afford not to pay them, i went to another hosting site and they would not release my domain site so i could transfer it, and they used my credit card to continue to bill me $ 21.90 per month that i did not agree to.
cant log in or access a paid account. no one answers the phone for support cant even move my name servers to move to Go daddy.com. very bad situation.
After we singed a contact with this company to set up and run our google adwords, web.com went to our direct competitor showed them our stats and used the information to sign them up to compete against us for internet search results.
Support team closing issues that are not resolved, terrible service, I will not renew.
shame on domain direct for selling out to these clowns.
irregular charges on debit card, refusal to give receipt, difficulty canceling and transferring domain
I got this website domain + builder + seo services in october 2014. Never got one single customer support email answered (Tried over 15 times in different times).
I was getting irregular monthly charges in my debit card from this company, but no matter how hard I tried to ask for receipts or an explanation of those charges, I never got one...
It was so shady I opened an account with hostgator and asked to have my dns servers changed to theirs. This never, never happened.
I'm waiting for 4 months for my domain to be active but they took their responsibility out of the question saying I already canceled my account, so I don't have any means to transfer my domains' servers unless I reactivate my account.
Only today, I stayed 3h: 45 min over the phone with them, and still unsolved issue... I talked with 7 representatives and none solved my prob... Really considering suing this company bc this is so wrong! I need my business page active asap, and this company won't help me.
How did you mange to speak to someone? I'm in the UK and I have not been successful in reaching anyone on the numbers provided. I am trying to cancel my account.
billing
I want to warn consumers of this site. Web.com .They misrepresent their web creation site in regards to cost. I was told that the base fee for my web page, which I created myself was only $3.00. They have been charging my credit card $27.00 for the past 5 months. I was told that I cannot get a refund/credit to my card for them overcharging. They will create my card for the next 6 -months for a lower basic fee of $8.00.
What make them feel like I can trust them to do that after the last scam!
Canceled my account...yes...beware
scam pricing
Don't use web.com! They are just a scam company. All they do is try to take your money by scam pricing on their ad and listing. Don't trust they say cheap monthly charge. They are surely increasing it after a month. I signed up for $5 web hosting and a month later, I got $40 bill. Their web builder is very hard to use.
