One.com I’d give no stars if I could

I would like to give no stars but that isn’t an option.

Please, please do not join Onecom! Don’t believe these reviews. They do not care about you, they are rude, aggressive, unhelpful, they lie. You’ll be stuck between them and the network provider when you need help as each party says it’s down to the other.

The stress they have caused me since joining them in May 2023 is unbelievable. No one responds to you, you are constantly chasing them for answers. which usually comes across as them sitting on their high horse, not caring, knowing there right and can’t be wrong.

I’m sure they’ve breached some kind of data protection law, as every time I ring complaints (which is a lot) everyone knows my name before I even tell them?

They have breached terms in my contract and they won’t terminate the contract unless I pay the exit fee!

Please, please do not make the same mistake as I did!

Recommendation: Do not use Onecom

I had no internet connection on Saturday 23rd October. I phoned one com and spoke to Steve, who was very pleasant. He said he was going to put me on hold. 4 minutes later my call was ended. I phoned again, spoke to a lady who made me unplug the router, unplug the connection from the wall. They both said there was a fault. Again, she put me on hold and...

One.com Fraudulent debit from my bank account

A couple of months ago I tried to register a domain which is sandvikk.co.uk with one.com and through the process, I provided a wrong email address which was [protected]@gmail.com instead of [protected]@gmail.com resulting in me not received the email to probably activate my account but the payment for the domain was made. I contact support with the issue to see they could help me and I received an email from one of the support named John with a long list of requirements. I ended having to register a different domain elsewhere because it was needed and their process was much longer. Even though the payment for the domain registration was made, I did not follow it up and left it like that so meaning I did not even have a functional account with them because I could not log in due to the fact the I provided a wrong email address. now yesterday 14 July 2023 after a few months, I get debited nearly 4 times the amount I paid to register the domain and I have no idea why because I do not have an account in the first place. I do not owe one.com and I did not order any product or service because I am not having a valid account in the first place. Now I am being told to wait 7-14 days to know what will be decided over something that seems fraudulent.

Desired outcome: I want my money to be refunded and as soon as possible.

One.com Vodafone/one.com

Ive been trying to get out a 36 month contract. Ive only had it for 8 weeks or less after realising im paying alot more money than the £7 i thought i was agreeing to. The agent tricks tou in the second part of the conversation and you wnd up agreeing to other charges. The first part of the conversation i agreed to an £8 per month contract. The agent then takes bank details etc puts you on hold and then says "he will go through the plan again first without discounts then with discounts so you get confused and think you are still agreeing to the £8 contact but no you ate agreeing to other things. After realising my first payment was £154 i cancelled my DD until i could resolve this. I had no prior invoices and emailed them serval times to solve this situation which i had no luck in doing. Ive got my phone recorded conversations but they only gave me 2 of them. When getting the ombusman involved i started to receive pre dated letters demanding over £3100 for breaking my DD with them. I owe them £80 which they acknowledge then £3100 for termination of contract. In my eyes ive been conned. It was a verbal contract but because i said yes at the end of the conversation it stands i owe them over £3100 which i thought was the £8 contract. I gather now they will take court proceedings to get the money from me which i cant pay. I really do need help and advise

One.com Overbilling

My dad bought their Enthustsic package which includes a lot of features. He then was diagnosed with cancer and all finances - income and bills was a mess. Onle ONE domain was ever used the past 3 years. He died last year. He was billed over £177 per year for the full package though none of the other features were ever used. Despite providing this data to one.com Admins, they're refusing to downgrade the previous years and refund the difference - stating that "services were provided" though they know full well they weren't. I will be taking legal action against one.com. awful company that have no compassion whatsoever.

Desired outcome: All previous years invoices downgraded to their lowest package fle one domain only and the balance refunded.

One.com Domain Registration

This company advised there was a problem with the domain ownership email address.

It turned out that the registered address was an old EE Freeserve address, one of the millions of Freeserve/FSNet/Orange/Wanadoo email addresses that EE withdrew in - I think - 2018 and One.com were still sending emails to it.

You would think that a competent large scale provider would be able to purge its accounts when something like this happens and seek correction from its clients - but not this lot!

I was given a deadline date to confirm up to date details or my account would be suspended - so I did that and One.com confirmed that I had protected the situation and that service would be continuous.

The next day my email was dead - the problem is, that so is customer service at One.com

I have had every assurance under the sun from some chat line staff that they have the detail to keep the service running - others deny this outright.

Whatever, One.com are clearly in breach of contract, let alone decency and honesty.

If One.com are incapable of remedying the situation I will consider myself free to go elsewhere and will instruct my bank not to accept ANY further debits from this utterly customer unfriedly outfit.

One.com - over to you!

Desired outcome: Reinstatement of contracted service and compensation for discontinuation

One.com unethical behaviour, not responding my complaint

My Name is Bashir M Aden, I would like to summit a complaint against One.com
These are historical context;
1. In August 2018, I and two of my friends tried to start a security service company.
2. We registered our company (amnisecurityservice Ltd) at Companies House, we opened bank account (Barclays), and we subscribed our web domain (amnisecurityservice.com) with One.com.
3. Unfortunately, we never succeed to start our company.
4. We voluntarily strike off our company from Companies' Register. We closed our bank account.
5. We could not cancel our subscription with One.com. The only we could cancel our subscription with One.com was through One.com's Control Panel, and we forget password.
6. Although, We paid over £57 fee for last year's subscription, we never utilized it.
7. In September 2019, I got a reminder of subscription renewal from One.com
8. I e-mailed to One.com more than three times, in my e-mails I asked One.com to help me to cancel my subscription, as I was unable to cancel it through One.com's Control Panel, the only replies that I got from One.com were same instructions about how to cancel subscription on One.com's Control Panel, which was not possible for me because I forget Control Panel, and I could not reset it either.
Kind Regards

One.com web hosting

This company are impossible to contact, kept financial records of cards and then attempted to use them without authority!

After initial signing of a product, they are then seeking to Increase the cost by 600% and take monies without any agreement

There are no
Phone numbers to speak with anyone on the issue, the response on this matter is beyond poor and what lies behind the advertised "blue chip company" appears a very shady operation
Where they can not be contacted.

The robot response or live chat is clearly not accurate.
A person can only ask 1 question.. then no more
Even to the so called live chat

One.com nearly impossible to terminate subscription - crooks!

this seems like such a great company at first, cheap services.. however, there is a catch, the 'cheap services' is just a facade. they do everything in their power to minimise the churn of clients (clients trying to terminate their service). I have tried to end my subscription and suddenly its impossible to do digitally and they have required a photo id etc. once i sent all documents asking them to terminate my contract they did not execute and would send me a new payment request next year. after several years of having to pay collector agencies I finally received a confirmation from one.com that my subscription was terminated - this, only after I threatened to contact the authorities.

One.com domain hosting

I have received a letter stating that I must pay £44 for a web domain I have no idea about.
I have never used one.com at all.
I have never bought a web page.
The letter has my name and first line of my address but nothing else. The postcode is completely wrong.
The order number is 5812478
REF: nayifeng.com
The webpage states "for sale contact Email: progoody at gmail .com"
I do not have or never have had the email address ([protected]@googlemail) they state they sent the invoice to.
I am directed to one.com/pay. There are no contact details.

This has been reported to action fraud and the crime number given to one.com. They state they want a copy of the report. I will not give that to them as it has my personal details on it which I do not want them to have.

One.com unauthorized billing

One.com is trying to invoice me for services I never authorized or used. I bought a domain from them and now they are trying to charge me an outrageous renewal fee and 1 year of web hosting - which I never asked for.

I was never sent any renewal information and when I tried to cancel my domain they told me it couldn't be cancelled until I paid my outstanding invoice - which I never authorized.

Thank you.

One.com don't recommend using them

I hate this serviсe, it caused me a lot of headaches.
First of all, I stopped using it for some reasons.
1. Customer service is often unreachable. I don't want to spend my time listening to robots.
2. They did absolutely nothing to fix some issues I had but charged me every month.

Plus, all of my attempts to unsubscribe failed. At first, I submitted it, then they emailed me saying my membership was canceled, and 2 weeks later they charged me for the membership as if I didn't request anything. It's a daylight robbery!
Had to call and figure it out again and it took them 5 more days to resolve it. Horrible

One.com internet and phone contract

I have been scammed by one.com they have told me that my package did involve a TV package they edited out part of the call when I raised the complaint. They have tied me into a contract which I did not understand. My internet goes down regularly, I have monitored this. There is no service support when this occurs.
I cannot leave the 3 year contract. I am paying both vodaphone and one.com and cannot get out of this. Vodaphone are not helpful and just refer me to one.com.
I do not know what to do.

One.com automatic renewal practices

One.com is a provider of web-hosting services that attract new users with low first year charges for its services. However, the charges rise considerably in thereafter. This complaint is about their practice of sending emails on their services and amongst them (although not clearly labelled) an opportunity to terminate their automatic renewal policy. If a new user does not spot this email and terminate their contract, the web-hosting service is automatically renewed with no opportunity to terminate before another 12 months payment. In an age of many junk emails, the chances for new users to spot that this is a request via email only are low. Of course, once they want payment, One.com has a policy of sending letters (as well as email) reminders to pay their invoices ! It is sad that new companies seem to be happy to adopt poor business integrity with their customers.

I am currently dealing with this despotic company and note that there may be many violations of the law in operation. It is now my intention to speak with my lawyer and not only commence litigation against one.com but to explore taking a class action lawsuit against one.com.

My reason for the exploring of a "Class Action Lawsuit" is because we are seeing way too many of these types of companies propering up everywhere. They take small increments of financial fees, knowing all too well that people will not be in a position to access legal remedy for closure, they then use the heavy hand of debt collection services that roll in countless accounts and work on a consolidated fee.

This type of financial fraud has to be stopped in its tracks.

This may also infringe upon General Data Protection Regulations.

It does seem that there is no use in complaining to the Consumer Rights bodies who never show any authoritative structures to invoke real legislative change and the sanctioning of these rogue corporate operators.

The mere use of debt collection threats to cause duress where one might think of credibility damage decreasing one's ability to secure finance or even loans is an absolute scandal when initiated by a rogue corporate operating and mis-selling non legislative complaint products and services.

It is time precedent was set at the courts of law against this type of rogue corporate financial larcency.

I will come back here soon and post a link to a blog and new website, starting with the plans to initate class action litigation against one.com and inviting others to include other hosts operating the same practices.

It would be hoped that the debt collection agencies would be made joinder in this class action lawsuit to show the damaging effect to aid and abett this type of Tort of Trespass. The debt collection agencies have a lawful duty also to make certain that such a claim to initate debt collection and the registering of the parties name is "safe" otherwise the rule of Agent to Principal does apply and they will become joinder in any litigation that may have caused unnecessary defamation and duress.

The days are gone when the big crook stealing the small amounts can get away with doing so. They are very much akin to the "Train Station Pickpocket".

Lets start our class action against one.com now and push as an example to create precent against all.

I have also been constantly affected by this company and I am now finished with being treated in such a way by the despotic alure.

Hey all, I'm in the same situation. Has anyone tried ignoring their requests for the funds to be paid? They've passed my debt to the debt collectors already, I just doubt that they would take me to court for £50. Has everyone else on here paid up?

I have also been scammed by this company. I have used about every hosting company you can think of and none of them have ever threatened to send me to collections. I do not even use the domain name I purchased through them. I contacted support and they just told me oh well. Will not even refund me for the unused portion. VERY UNETHICAL COMPANY.

I have been scammed by this company..They sent me a renewal email 10 days prior to renewal although they claimed to have sent it 60 days prior. I had cancelled my subscription well in advance of that but they claimed that I had not. I was sent constant reminders for payment and online chat was useless, They are a disgusting company to deal with and I feel I am left with no choice but to pay up...It really is time that this company was brought to justice..AVOID!

Awful company I emailed them to cancel the subscription 60 days before the subscription ended and they still carried it forward stating I had not clicked the link they sent me to cancel the account even though I notified them in writing and now I am being chased by a debt agency and my credit score has been affected. This company is unethical and very unprofessional and I am currently seeking legal advice.

Avoid at all cost, in their "Terms of Business" which I assume no one reads have buried a text about auto-renewal 35 days before the invoice and if you miss the email they auto-renew and send you invoice, later even if you contact them and cancel the subscription before new period starts they still charge you..
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
