My car was brought in to the abovementioned branch on 13.06.2019 first what was supposed to be its annual service, but because it was brought in through towing, it was regarded as a "breakdown". I was quoted the amount as per pic attached, to which I felt I'll take out the "service", and only attend the problem that required the so-called parts to be bought and installed.
On 01.07.2019, the service advisor (Nicolene) called to inform me the parts had arrived, but that they would not be able to fit them provided they do the brake pads as well. (I had told them I was going to have them fitted wherever I'd be taking my car for service, something which clearly does not sit well with them).
I told Nicolene that they must then leave the car, I'll have it towed elsewhere. A few minutes later when the tower had come to collect the car, she calls me back telling me I have to pay an additional R1297.59, to which she said it was for "VAT" for the "parts" ordered. I told her I don't understand, and I still don't understand why I would pay "tax" separate. She also told me the car would not be released until I pay the "VAT" amount.
I called another dealership to check as to what their pricing estimates to, since I know the manufacturer is the same, and the total amount was half of what Westvaal Rustenburg is charging, "VAT" inclusive.
I feel something fishy is going on here, and that someone is trying to take advantage because I'm a woman, and therefore ignorant or stupid. May I add this is not the first time I receive the worst kind of treatment/service from the same people.
Kindly assist, and thank you for your consideration into this matter.
Regards.
