Engine trouble
I purchased Opel Astral 2017, I went to the General Motors main Service Center (Mansour Opel/Chevrolet), address: 12 St. el Tayaran, Nasr City, Egypt to make my car maintenance for 80, 000Km. During the maintenance, the responsible engineer called me to change some spare parts, and after taking my car I found that the car has engine malfunctions so I went again to the service center; they rechecked the car & said that they will clean fuel chamber. In the third day, they checked and told me that the evaporator had to be changed and then again in the fourth day. They change a lot of spare parts without showing me any from the parts being changed and until now the car still having problem.
I kept on trying with Mansour spending significant amounts of time, money & more importantly this inflicted a painful psychological effect on me, I spent 5 days to fix my car and after paying 11, 000 Egyptian pound the car still having trouble.
In addition, please note that I am totally unhappy with the services offered by Opel in Egypt: they are not responsive at all, they ignore complaints, they take very long to check the car and they didn't fix anything except useless changing of spare parts, and their prices are outrageous.

Sudden airbag deployment
Good Day Sir/Madam,
On the 3rd. November, 2020, at approximately 8:50 a.m., while driving between 50-60 km/h in traffic, the front passenger's side-airbag suddenly deployed in my 2001 Opel Omega.
My wife who was seated in the front passenger's seat required medical attention after sustaining abrasions, flesh trauma and second degree burns to her upper left arm. There were also some aesthetic damage to the car's interior(b-pillar lower finisher and rear door trim) when the airbag deployed.
I would like to make special mention that I have always been a passionate enthusiast of Opel cars, this being my third Omega, and my fourth Opel vehicle. However, the experience have left us traumatised as it was sudden and unwarranted.
I have since abandoned the car in my garage because I'm afraid the other airbags could do the same. The car wasn't involved in any accident that would warrant such an occurrence.
Since there are no longer any local or regional agents for the Opel/Vauxhall brand in my country, I am kindly requesting that an investigation be facilitated into the apparent failure of this device, and have it rectified to avoid recurrence.
I have attached proof of ownership along with pictures of the car after the incident, and of the injuries to my wife's arm.
Should you wish to contact me concerning this matter, I may be reached at [protected]@gmail.com, or by telephone number +[protected].
Looking forward to a prompt and favourable response with regards to this matter.
Regards,
Eshwar Basdeosingh

Dear Opel, I need to express my deep disapoitmant about opel assistance service in Serbia. Yesterday my car stop working. Eventhough I received tow service relativly on time I faced big problem in receiving replacement car as per letter of warranty. Car is still not given to me and opel.assistance is refusing to give me car in the same category. I'm considering to comply law suit against opel for breking letter of warranty.
the official agent does not know the cause of the car problem for more than a month!!
17/12/2019
Dear Head of Opel Customer Services,
I am the owner of Opel Insignia car (Model, 2017/ chassis No, W0LGT6EU9H103537/ Motor No, GR5X0870/ Motor type, B 2.0 NHT) which was purchased from the Israeli market to enable me to fulfill my duties in my capacity as an Egyptian diplomat in the Egyptian Embassy in Israel.
Despite the car was of outstanding performance, two month ago, specifically since last October the car started to face severe irregularities. All of a sudden, and during the acceleration, the car starts to strongly shake with the RPM pointer instability. Immediately I went to the official agent of Opel in Israel in Rishon Letsiyon area, and over there my journey of suffering started.
On October 23rd, the agency started to inspect the car, and after two days of inspection they told me that car in need for new "Two Cv joint couplings", "front and rear Brake linings", " Front Tier Rotors". Upon my request, they had to order the original parts from the factory of Opel in Germany. Almost a month later on, November 18th, they asked me to bring the car to the garage to fix it, after importing the parts from Germany upon my request.
After fixing the new parts, Opel garage told me that the problems still exist! And they don't know the cause of the problems of the car; they asked to keep the car in order to do more inspections. For a month right now, since November 18th, the car still at the garage without any progress, and each time I am asking about the car, the reply comes, they don't know the root of the cause and they continue consulting with the factory in Germany to do more inspections!
Sir, can you believe that the official agent does not know the cause of the car problem for more than a month!, who should know then? Where should I go elsewhere to inspect my car! My colleagues at the Embassy and my friends in the diplomatic community are shocked; some of them told me that I have to sell the car as soon as possible, and to consider buying another car brand.
Sir, I can't describe to you to what extent I am disappointed, as we at the embassy decided at the first place to buy Opel, out of the trust in your company. The millage of the car is only almost 88000 KM, with no accidents nor incidents. In addition, all the maintenance services being carried out at the official agent of Opel in the city of Tel-Aviv.
Despite the fact that the garage gave me another car to use, but as you may know, it's not the issue of just having another car, as my Opel insignia is a diplomatic car carrying diplomatic plates that are necessary for the usage of any diplomat. Using diplomatic cars is a must in our job, since its related to the immunity issues being granted to diplomats. It's not acceptable for my government nor to the Israeli government to use regular plates.
Sir, I am seeking your help to check this issue as fast as you can, and I am pretty sure that you will do your max to ensure bringing a swift solution to this problem.
Best,
First Secretary,
Mohamed Ramadan

car repair did not start after 2 months from delivering the car to the center
Hello,
On the 14th of September I got my 2016 Opel Corsa to the center after an accident,
the center provided me with a quotation after couple of days and I agreed. The center told that some of the parts need for fixing my car is not available in the country and they will be requesting it to be imported. It has been over than 2 months now and the car is yet untouched, whenever I try to call them they don't pickup the phone, It have been like this for over a month I try to call on daily basis and nothing changes.
This is the second time that this happens to me after the 1st incident which was caused by a manufacturing faulty part in the gear box was damaged after 20, 000 KM the car spent 3 months waiting for them to import the part.
This is not acceptable by all means, I am frustrated, can't use my car have been suffering since then and I cant even get someone from Opel to even picku the phone and give a status feedback
I was there on saturday october 12th, 2019 to vest
I was there yesterday Saturday October 12th 2019 to check the reason behind the huge consumption of petrol. My car is insegnia 2015. After waiting for five hours, they informed me that the air filter is clean and I have to check the رشاشات outside because they don't have this machine there and gave me the car. The car was open and the kee was given to me by security man. I drove the car to my home. When I reached home I found that the kee is spoiled and doesn't close the doors and to some extent the plastic was melt and the kee was miss. Therefore I will take the kee for the branch soon and I am requesting you to please investigate the reason of this terrible mistake and to replace the kee with new one. In the meantime I am asking you for proper compensation for wasting my time and for the headic I had. My car's plate number is ه س ا 578 . My phone number is [protected].
"inflated" pricing on parts made to buy
My car was brought in to the abovementioned branch on 13.06.2019 first what was supposed to be its annual service, but because it was brought in through towing, it was regarded as a "breakdown". I was quoted the amount as per pic attached, to which I felt I'll take out the "service", and only attend the problem that required the so-called parts to be bought...

I want to complaint about CMH Opel Umhlanga. They have a poor service. On the 23/02/2019 I went to service my car it was a major services. Nothing was done in my car because all the noise I told them was still there after the services. Worse part on the 29 May while I was going to cornubia mall I saw a sign which I dont understand so i decided to went to CMH Opel Umhlanga so that the can check my car. They told me that they can test the car. After test nothing was given to me in was told that may be the Bettry was low. There have no time to give what was the reason. They told me to leave and said the said will run away. And I was told to come back and pay if sign is still there. When I left there sign was still there the car was unable to move. CMH failed to assist me and m unhappy about that. Then I decide to find michenica to assist me he put the car in the machine and gave me print out of what wrong with a car. Plugs were old because CHM OPel umhlanga never changed it when I came for services I'm very upset with their services. I had to buy new plugs which costs me a lot of money. And I have to pay a labour as well. According to CMH plugs were changed but never given to me after taken out. I miss Williams hunts where I bought my car service was good and there were normally give me what they have taken out. Even on a minor service they also rob me and they never informed me about old brakes and pad. I had to find mechanica to do it for me. I will not recomm CMH to anyone because they are taking advantage of women. I was using CMH so that my car will last longer but it is useless. I angry for what they did to me. Can I be paid back my money because nothing's was done to my car. Labour cost me R350. I will attached slips.
Things that mechanic has taken out
mokka
We got stranded on 23/12 without petrol & when assistance called us back we were told that it would not be covered & we need to pay R450 just for call out. This to us is very unacceptable as why would it say roadside assistance at no charge if we need to pay a call out fee? The call ref is : 616
I have never had such bad service from opel in my life.
We would like to have an explanation as we were not in the middle of nowhere &bwould like the reason why!
Please advise URGENTLY

major technical failure of a new opel car + unreasonable repair cost
I am trying to reach the Customer Support of Opel Germany and I cant find any contact details.
I have bought a New Opel Astra in Oct 2010 in Cyprus. Last week the gearbox broke and needs to be replaced. The cost that Opel in Cyprus asked for was 5000 Eur which is 80% of the total current value of the car. However their initial estimation was [protected] Eur, on which they may have offered a very small discount.
I believe that it is premature to have such a technical failure on such a brand, preceded by so many other technical issues (coil inside the engine broke 1yr ago). I also believe that even [protected] is an unreasonable cost, let alone 5000.
In addition, please note that I am totally unhappy with the services offered by Opel in Cyprus: they are not responsive at all, they ignore complaints, they take very long to check the car and no one communicates with the customer, and their prices are outrageous.
service at local dealers
I am the owner of the above mentioned vehicle, about 6 weeks ago i took my vehicle, as always to the dealer for some repairs to be done. The vehicle is a 2006 model with only 21000 km on the clock, it is vertually brand new and all origional. I explained to the mechanic what the problem were that i encountered. He then told me that he will have to put the car on the diagnostic machine. At first, after he had the car on the machine and kept it there for an entire day, i had to phone in and ask why i am not hearing from them, he then told me that he is not sure and need more time, because the machine can not pick up the electronics of the car.I then was told to take the car back the following week, where he will put the car on the machine again. After a whole day spend there, at the end of there day i got a phone call saying that they have bad news and that i must come in. I went there, and was told that the ABS module had to be replaced and that only the parts will cost me R21 000, 00, together with labour it will come up to R28 000, 00.I couldn't believe what i was hearing and their explanations as to why they think it is the problem just didn't add up, so i told them that i will have to come back to them. I contacted my brother the following day, asking for advice, he then told me it is impossible for the car to have the problem that the local dealers is saying. We arranged for my car to go to where my brother is staying, as he will then get a auto electrician and the local dealers to look at the car. Shocking to say the least, the problem was not what the Newcastle mechanic was so adamant about, but something else Long story short, my car was seen by the auto electrician, put on the diagnostic machine, problem identified, parts replaced, all for a tenth of the quote of Newcastle.I am just concerned about what would have happened if Newcastle went ahead and replaced what they believed was the faulty part, and afterwards was proved wrong, who was going to pay for everything.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
dealership unable to fix my car
I felt compelled to share my experience with you I bought a new Opel Astra 1.4T Enjoy in August 2011 from Weskaap Motors in Vredenburg. A month into owning my car, my problems started. First it was a rattling noise coming from rear wheels (they replaced some pins there), then the clutch kept slipping and the computer had to be reprogrammed, next was the handbrake that kept releasing (software update was done), next was the gear link system, front shocks and inner door seals that were replaced under warranty. For each of these problems, it cost me a day, sometimes 2 or 3 days without my car and no offer of a courtesy car.
Recently I've had to take my car in to the service centre several times as it was losing power & cutting out while driving. This started a week after they serviced it end of November. Finally after 2 breakdowns and call outs, 2 days in the workshop, did the mechanics determine that it was the ignition coil (also only after I googled the symptoms and phoned them with that suggestion). Last month, a week after the ignition coil was replaced, it broke down again and after a few days now they determined the catalytic converter has also failed now.
This is worrisome for me. Catalytic converters rarely fail and are usually a sign of worse things to come. Once the catalytic converter fails it can do massive damage. This usually happens if the engine has run poorly for an extended time (misfiring). For example: an ignition coil that is not working will quickly ruin the catalytic converter if the engine is allowed to run more than a few minutes misfiring.
It doesn't end there, they've had my car since December 12th, needless to say, I get a call saying the battery has died since it's been standing for a month, the car was taken to Motolek to have the wiring checked, then they also replaced some hoses of some kind & it still isn't fixed. I constantly have to phone them to find out what's going on and when I can expect to get my car back. I've even resorted to driving down there to speak to them in person and was met with a poor attitude and lack of caring about my situation from the head of the workshop. In the meantime, I'm still paying my hefty car installment regardless.
This morning after sending them the fifth email, I was told, they think it might be something else, which they've ordered and the part should arrive on Thursday the 16th January. No guarantee that it will be the solution either.
I'm at my wits end already. I've never in my entire life experienced such disgusting service and it was a new car! Totally unacceptable in my opinion.

Dear Customer Service,
My Name Is Mahmoud Abdel Bary, I live in Cairo – Egypt, and I own an Opel Astra 2004, I bought this car 3 months ago from a friend, it was 2nd hand…
Honestly I haven’t drive such a vehicle before, the car has amazing options which I didn’t find in any Automobile I use to own…
Two weeks ago I had a problem in the car’s engine, so I decided to take the car to the maintenance center to fix the car, and provide me with any original spare parts….
As soon as I entered the service center with the car I faced many problems, which really made me regret driving an Opel not because of the vehicle, but because of the franchise of Opel here in Egypt, which is Mansour..
At the beginning of my entrance of the center, I met Eng. Emad, he didn’t even welcome me, he simply asked me one question.. have you ever done any maintenance here ? I informed him that this is a used a car and I don’t know, he took the engine number and checked on the database, and he found out that the car didn’t enter the center before, and he refused to receive the car..
Without Arguing with Eng. Emad I simply asked him if there is a higher rank who I can talk to, he made me meet Mr. Mostafa Kamal (Reception Manager), who accordingly confirmed the same fact that they will not receive the car as long as it didn’t make any maintenance here…
I told them that this doesn’t make sense, and you are simply informing me to get rid from the car, they simply ignored my phrase, I informed them that I’ll complain in the Head Office in Austria, by they seemed not interested or threatened…
Please I need real action, because I have already wasted time, money, and I’m really depressed from the service which I don’t think it is an international rules & procedures from the mother company…

engine faliure
My name is Moataz Nabil, I'm Egyptian & I live in Cairo in; this is my second time to contact Opel Germany directly in a desperate attempt to regain my rights from General Motors Egypt.
Back on April 28th 2008, I purchased a a brand new Opel Vectra 1.6 cc Easytronic transmission with the following details:
Model - 2008
Engine capacity - 1.6 cc
Engine # - 1369
Chasis # - [protected]
I invested in this car the amount of 195, 000.00 Egyptian Pounds equivalent to approximately 29, 000.00 Euros at the time of purchase which was all my savings in the past 5 years + a bank loan & now I'm totally moneyless after all that I spent on this notorious vehicle! After a fake test drive on a car which is definitely not like the one that I bought I was convinced. But when I drove the car for the first time, it seemed strange & not like the one that I test drove, the gearbox was strange & the car kept jumping & stopped twice! I took to the General Motors main Service Center (Mansour Opel/Chevrolet) after the first 1000 KM & they told me that this is normal & that I will get use to driving it because it needs a different sense; absolute nonsense! Anyhow, the real problems started after 5000 KM & I will brief tem as follows:
1. I kept hearing a horrible voice from the engine when I put the air condition on & accelerate. I took to the main service center & they told me that there was a factory defect in the compressor but unfortunately it was not available. I kept going back & forth till it finally arrived & they changed the compressor after 4 months; however I was shocked when the horrible voice continued.
2. I went again to the service center, they rechecked the car & said that the evaporator had to be changed! I insisted that sound was from the engine but they insisted that it was from the evaporator; again the sound continued.
3. I went again & they told me that this is a normal engine sound with the air condition on; ridiculous reply!
4. I kept on trying with Mansour spending significant amounts of time, money & more importantly this inflicted a painful psychological effect on me.
5. At around 25000 KM, I started hearing noises from everywhere in the car, the doors, the windows, the interiors etc.
6. The big problem was when, all of a sudden, the gearbox showed F on the screen & the car wouldn't move. I had to bring a truck to carry the car to the service center! At this time, I sent the first complaint to Opel Germany. The staff at the service center insisted that coke or pepsi & cigarette ashes were inside the gearbox internal compartment & that this caused the problem; by the way I don't smoke! After many discussions, they fixed it without charging me. I left but wasn't satisfied with the car.
7. The problems kept popping up every now & then & the horrible engine sound with the air-condition on started showing with the air-condition is off; this was 3 days ago.
8. I took it today to the service center at 69000 KM, I was shocked & had severe chest pain when they told me that the engine has complete failure only after 4 months from the expiration of the warranty.
9. I expected that they will do this with me after all the strange & fishy maneuvers.
Good Day, just read through your complain on alibaba.i was also scammed by Sunrise East Asia Culture Art Development Co., Ltd. $2800.In the past 2 weeks i was contacted by a body in west Africa who have been of great help to me getting a compensation on money duped from me as a representative of my company.Presently i have been refunded and have balance my shortage with my company.Feels so great. If you still wish to get a compensation on money scammed contact me so i can give to you contact of agency conducting compensation.(adams.fetcher@yahoo.com)
