When doing lunges, avoid shifting the weight forward, lifting the heel off the ground, or rolling into the ball of the foot. Make sure your chest is lifted, weight is placed in the heel of the front foot, the knee is always behind the front toe, and maintain an upright posture as you press straight up and down.
