As with the other reviews, I'm totally disappointed, beyond the space provided here
As with the other reviews, I'm totally disappointed, beyond the space provided here. My first experience in 2008, fantastic! My experience (s) now, pathetic! Ordered in June, rescheduled multiple times. Tentative is the buzz word of the corporate speak. Yet, they continue to advertise, sell, and not install. It's in the contract, it's COVID related, it's everything under the sun except customer service. Don't sell if you can't honor your commitment in a timely manner. Don't give me the party line for covering your inadequate abilities, your lack of honor, service, or commitment.
I ordered a specialty window from Window World on 2/10 and paid half down
I ordered a specialty window from Window World on 2/10 and paid half down. I was told it would be 14-18 weeks out. I started calling about an install date on June 11 and was told it was in production and I would get a call in the next two weeks. That did not happen and I called again on July 18 and got an install date of August 11. On August 10, I got a call to reschedule. It was rescheduled for September 10 and today which is September 9, I got another call to reschedule once again for October 11. I asked why this time and was told that you only had 2 install crews. NOT MY PROBLEM, that is your problem. I am unhappy with service and planning on contacting the ComplaintsBoard.com to file a complaint and also on social media.
My business partner and I created 3 different orders with Window World in January
My business partner and I created 3 different orders with Window World in January . After months and months of going back and forth (i.e. 7 months), one order was finally filled two weeks ago. To their credit, the job was ok, however we did have to go behind them and point out a few flaws which they corrected promptly while still on site. From what we are being told and what you're offered are two way different deals. They promise great service, transparency, and want you as the customer to hold your end of the deal. What they fail to mention is that once they got your money (1st half), they have no intention of honoring the given timeline, and when you call, they are either condescending, give you the runaround, or simply they won't answer your phone. In all honesty, had I know I would be lied to in the beginning, I probably wouldn't have chosen this company. What was ironic, during the initial sales process I questioned one of the charges. To my surprise, the installers agreed should not have been added. It's disappointing that I have to leave this review, however the same way I normally leave great reviews, I normally do the same when the service is bad and not very honest.
I ordered my windows on June 17
I ordered my windows on June 17. I was told by my salesperson Bill that it would take 16 weeks to receive windows for my entire house. This was not the case. First, they called to let me know in January 2022 that they could not install the windows because one of them broke during transport. When they received the replacement in March, the windows were installed 8 months later on March 17, 2022. They did a very shabby job. They used two different color of caulking, clear and black. Cut some of the openings to big and tried to fill with caulking and installed a broken window because the replacement part was incorrectly measured too small. Lastly and most importantly, my salesperson did not order enough windows. They agreed to give me the missing window, but, they will not order the window (which takes 21 weeks to receive) until I pay the balance for a unprofessional install. This decision was given to me by the sales manager Matt. I asked to put a rush on the order. They will not put a rush on my missing window and will not order the missing window until I pay the balance for a shabby install. Furthermore I asked for a temporary window to be put in its place and Matt agreed. Three (3) months later, I still do not have a temporary window. For the broken window, it arrived at the Alabama warehouse late April/early May per Danielle. I waited to receive the call to have the new window installed. I did not receive a call because my balance was not paid per service manager Matt during my conversation with him on Monday, June 13, 2022 to have it scheduled. Finally, my replacement window was installed Friday, June 17, 2022. I forgot to mentioned that my house was burned, we have to rebuild, and I CANNOT PASS INSPECTION UNTIL I HAVE ALL OF MY WINDOWS INSTALLED. Now, I have to wait 21 additional weeks to receive a window that they said they would give me for free supposedly. I will never recommend anyone to purchase from this company.
I have a 3 page write-up of all the issues experienced
I have a 3 page write-up of all the issues experienced. We ordered our windows back in November ; the job was completed in April 2022. At first, we were told 10-14 weeks to get the windows in. Customer service did a poor job keeping us update on when our windows would come in. I had to call and beg for them to install at the end of April (we were due with our first child the end of April). We were told April 18th for the installation date however, this date got pushed back to April 19th because of installation issues with other sites. During the installation, two of the windows were broken when they arrived, so they weren't able to install the 4 windows. In addition, the sashes was also broken on two windows. The installers asked us to sign a “Certification of Completion Form". My husband asked if the form was to show that the work was completed and they said “No", this was only to confirm the work that had been done so far". We were told it would take a few weeks to get the windows and sash in. Turns out, we were charged for the whole project even though the work hadn't been done. We had to spend hours on the phone with both Wells Fargo and WW to get this resolved and convince them the project wasn't done. Turns out, the biller in WW made a mistake. That was issue #1. We had bigger issues, the original installer put nails in our fames (would void the warranty) and did not install any metal trim. We didn't know that until another installer came out to install our shahs (the message about our missing windows got lost) and after a QI person came out months later. This meant that WW would have to come out again to re-install all of our windows. Overall, it took 18 months, hours spent on the phone, damage to our credit score, and needless stress to get our windows To top it all off, we were offered less than a 10% discount and that wasn't even communicated to the sales rep who called us when we had to reapply for financeing. This has caused so much additional stress
Absolutely the worst customer service experience I've ever had
Absolutely the worst customer service experience I've ever had. Waiting 8 months for windows, my install has been rescheduled 4 times. I can't get anyone to answer the phones, the sales rep could care less now that the contract has been signed. GM is on the golf course and will call when he's free. Just super pitiful service and very poor regard for the customer. DO NOT AGGRAVATE YOURSELF WITH THIS HORRENDOUS SO-CALLED BUSINESS. Buy from someone else. This is one of the worst businesses I've ever dealt with!
If you're planning on doing any home improvement projects, don't use Window World of Central Alabama! We contracted with them on April 3 of this year for replacement vinyl eaves on our home and they have not even started on our project. It's been 4 months. We have had to call and beg for updates. They have returned our call exactly TWICE and seem to have a stock of dumb reasons why they have not called or given us a start date. At the onset we were told 6 to 9 weeks. The last time someone finally called me they told me there was one more job ahead of us and then they would get to our house. That was the beginning of July. We have had no other calls from them. Today Steve called and was told there were at least two jobs ahead of us. What the heck? What is up with these people? I get Covid. I get issues with the factory. What I don't get is that they tell us they only have 1, yes 1 ONE crew working on siding. And that is a crew of 2 men. Yes, TWO.🤯. And they are driving from Huntsville. Really? In the economy we have, with the number of jobs you SAY you have to do before you get to mine, you can't afford to hire more than 2 workers to install siding? This makes no sense at all. So, if you guys don't want to waste time and money, choose a different company to work with. We will NEVER use this business again. And no, we cannot get out of our contract. And no, they are offering no discounts, no compensation, not even an I'm sorry. They have our money, they're doing what they wanna do. I am frustrated, completely disgusted, and absolutely at the end of my rope. These people at this company suck. After four months, there is no excuse. Beware of this company!
In July , we contracted with WW to supply and install windows, a garage door, and siding. The windows and garage have since been installed. The garage door install went smoothly. The windows were a different story. Most of the caulking was subpar to say the least and several windows wouldn't lock. They adjusted those but since then I noticed my daughter's bedroom window does not even match up to the frame to lock. Here we are 8 months later with no siding. First installation day was set for Oct 30, second for December, third for February. I tried calling and leaving messages for 2 months until finally last week someone answered the phone. The reply was simply "I can't get a response from the siding manager". Our total was close to $30,000 and I have no siding in sight. We were upgrading the house to sell. So, that definitely did not work out as planned. I didn't even want to give them one star. Oh, by the way, when I reached out to the salesman he told me to call and pretend I wanted to buy new windows so I would get someone on the phone. This is so disgusting. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. BEWARE!
My contact with Window World began September 14. I have 3 windows, top and bottom sashes, that need replacing. November 16 they said they had to re-order a sash and that it would be in the 2nd week of December . December 17 they set up an appointment for February 8th to install replacement windows. I was told that was the first available appointment. They called and canceled the installation, someone was sick. New installation date was for set for February 15. They canceled again, set appointment for March 3 . They came out March 3rd to replace the windows. One window was lost according to the installer and one window was busted. They would reorder! He also busted my home alarm sensor, which they said they were not responsible for. March 5th, windows due in in 5 to 6 weeks. They would not put a rush on the order. I have since called numerous times without reaching anyone. I have left numerous messages without receiving a return call. It is now May 6. Absolutely horrible customer service.

We have our receipt/proof of purchase on file if need be, but Window World can also provide it for you
We have our receipt/proof of purchase on file if need be, but Window World can also provide it for you. Roughly 10 years ago Window World replaced every window in our house,(LIFETIME WARRANTY) as of November , over time, we have 3 windows that have moisture/leak defects. November I initially contacted Window World, looked up my account, and got serial numbers from the three windows that needed replacing. The representative stated it would be about 2 months before they came in. They never contacted me to let me know they did indeed come in. The representative verified replacement windows were there and proceeded to schedule a replacement appointment to install replacement windows. On the day of the appointment, a technician contacted me and said "he could not make it due to the truck had already left" and rescheduled another appointment. He never showed up, no phone call, no cancellation notice, and as of January , numerous monthly voicemails left, NO RESPONSE AT ALL!
On March 26 I ordered 4 windows from Window World Invoice #xxxx. I paid $xxx on that date with expectations of delivery of 4 windows installed within 12 to 16 weeks that was written in on documents that I signed. Today is September 3, which is almost 23 weeks. I Called Window World back July at 9:31 Am and was told my windows would be delivered and installed by August 15. It is is September 3 and I have not heard from Window World to date. I called Window World TODAY and requested a refund and was told I had to look on the back of the form ...not the front that I signed. Not to mention the fact that my HOUSE IS UNIQUE (DIFFERENT) and they have NEVER come out to measure for the windows. I do NOT have standard walls which their salesperson knew when he came to my house. And they still have NOT delivered NOR Installed the windows I ordered. They also have not delivered nor installed my windows and REFUSS/WONT refund my money.Dorothy M.
We ordered 26 windows on 2/11 for a total of $xxxxx. We were told it could be up to 16 weeks for install because of COVID. In June, I called to check on status and was told "We were just about to call you and schedule your installation." It was set for July 27. I took the day off work to make sure someone would be home. On July 26th, WW called to say they were missing some pvc from our order and would call later to reschedule. They never called, so in August I called again, and was again told, "We were just about to call you to schedule your install." It was set for September 17, my husband took the day off to be there. Yet again, the day before (sept. 16) WW called to say they didn't have a crew to do so it would have to be rescheduled. Now set for the end of October. I have a good feeling I'll get a call the day before with yet another cancellation. 4 months was acceptable because of the pandemic... but this is ridiculous.
I called Window World in January to advise I needed to submit a warranty claim as I have a cracked window pane. I was told someone would call me to schedule the installation when the pane arrived in stock. I called back in April. I was told the pane had arrived so they could schedule someone to come in May to install. Week of the appointment I was told they can't find the window pane in the warehouse and would call me back when they did. I called back in June they scheduled an appointment for July. I asked for a supervisor to call me back to discuss and was told they would have the window pane replaced in July. Again in July they can't find the window pane, I allowed the installer to come by to look at the problem and I was told they would locate the pane and call me for an install. It's now Sept/ 18th and I have not heard a word from them.
Windows/garage doors were ordered in April , 50% deposit was paid. I was quoted up tp 16 weeks for installation. Installation was schedule and cancelled 4 times, always the late afternoon the day before install. The reason for cancellation changes depending on who answers my phone call. I am in an endless cycle of rescheduling and cancelling. The reasons I have been given so far include: 1) There was a delay in production 2)There are no installation crews available 3)All of our installation crews are sick with covid 4) The crew did not finish the job from the previous day so I needed to be rescheduled 3 weeks out. I am currently waiting out my 5th reschedule. This has been such a nightmare. I have altered my home in preparation for windows and garage doors and have sat for months with no resolution/no windows/and loss of deposit money.
I ordered 15 windows on 12/8 and put down 1/2 of the total cost of 5,028.00
I ordered 15 windows on 12/8 and put down 1/2 of the total cost of 5,028.00. I was told by the sales person 12 to 16 weeks before installation. I called multiple times to find out where we were with the production and could not get any answers whatsoever. They called me and told me my windows are in and they would install them on 5/31. The installation crew were from Brazil and could not speak any English. The lead installer could speak somewhat broken English. One slider window did not make it in was busted in route. One slider has a broken pane, but was installed anyway. I had double windows before and when they cut out the center support they cut into my window seal on top and bottom and ruin the window seal. Most of the opening bars are bent on all windows. All screens need to be redone. A small window in the garage they bent the flashing at the bottom and totally destroyed the screen by bending it in the middle. A few of the main windows upstairs are warped, Help!
We are in need of a replacement window that is covered under their "Life Time Warranty". I contacted Window World on January 20 for the replacement. They took all information needed to replace the window and was told it would take 4 to 5 weeks. Another phone call was made in March and was told that they had the window and that they would be calling shortly to schedule the service. It is now going on 8 months following the initial request. I have called several times only to have my phone call blocked and unanswered. I just want this company to honor the warranty.
We entered into an agreement with sales representative Steve S and Window World 9/29 for the purchase and installation of 20 casement windows for the total of $15,871.00. The agreement estimated 12-16 weeks time until installation, which eventually extended to an installation date of April 5. This date was 11 weeks after the 16 week estimate, 27 weeks from order to install. Upon completing the install of 19 of the windows the crew notified us that the 20th, a large etched glass window, intended to shield our master bathroom from the street, had been broken in shipping. Additionally, 9 of the 18 cranks required to open the windows were not delivered, preventing these windows from being opened and creating a safety hazard. We refused payment of the balance ($6,010) and reordered the large window on 4/7. It is now 8/12 and have had no updates or contact from Window World of Central Alabama. Our home is a construction zone and safety hazard, 10 months in.
We have four large sliding glass patio doors from Window World in our condo. Three of the 4 doors are leaking and have ruined thousands of dollars worth of flooring since we called them back in February . The one door that does not leak water has insects crawling Between the sealed panes of glass in one of the three panels. They finally came out on April 28,2021. We were told that they would order a new Stationary panel and would check the leaks when they returned to install the faulty glass panel. They have been very difficult to contact, phone goes to voicemails, Which are not returned. We have waited on hold for 30 to 40 minutes on more than one occasion and finally got someone to answer. The response was always some version of "the part is that the manufactures and we will have to get back with you when it comes in", but here we are more than six months later with no service. Our last call July 14 on July 14, spoke with Kaylee, Who stated that she would get ***, the manager.
Ordered my windows 12. They were installed incorrectly. Window world tried to reinstall but did so incorrectly again. They do not answer the phone and do not seem to be able to install their product adequately. It is now 9 months later and this is still not resolved. I will need to hire someone else to come reinstall the windows.
On Sept. 2 2020, we authorized Window World to replace French Doors, a Picture Window and a Semi-circle window at our home
On Sept. 2 2020, we authorized Window World to replace French Doors, a Picture Window and a Semi-circle window at our home. We were given a 10-12 week lead time. At the end of Dec. / beginning of Jan. we were called with an install date of 3/23. On 3/22 they called to reschedule for 4/22. On 4/21 they called to reschedule because the crew was "on an important job in Tuscaloosa." I was told someone would be out on 4/24 to complete the install. Nobody showed up. Upon calling the office I was lied to about why a crew was not there and rescheduled for the next Friday (4/30). Again, nobody showed up and upon calling the office I was lied to again. I was given a date of 5/8 or 5/10 and that someone would call to confirm. 5/8: technician calls me and tells me the company has lost my picture window but someone will replace the doors on 5/10. After the door replacement I was told I would not be charged until the job was done. They have charged me the full amount after not completing the job.
In early 2015 we replaced all of the windows and a sliding patio glass door with Window World, double pane windows. We have very much enjoyed them. In 2019 one of the sliding glass door panes that was replaced began losing its seal/vacuum, and the window is badly cloudy. Window warrants their products for life, which is one of the reasons we chose them. I called them in 2020 about the issue, but they sent a salesman out, who said it was a warranty issue. (We know!) In February we finally got a "warranty person" on the phone who said it wouldn't be a problem. She looked up our order, found the exact window pane and said they would order it and take care of it. In April, I received a call that the window was about to go into production, and we should have it installed in May. In June I began calling to ask what happened, and but no one answers. Voicemails are not returned. In late July now, and they won't respond to anything.
Custom window was ordered and paid for in full in June. Original install date scheduled for September . Install date was missed and rescheduled for November ; that install date was again rescheduled for January. January install was found the wrong materials or sizes had been ordered (still unclear) and that was rescheduled again within 4-6 weeks. No calls, no updates despite multiple attempts. March (8 weeks)- Multiple follow up attempts result in silence until April with install date scheduled for May; received call at 6:00 PM evening before that we would be rescheduled to 06/15 between 9-11; contractor called morning of, and did not have labor necessary to complete job and trim was missing. Rescheduled for July 9th between 9-11. No call, followed up morning of 07/09 and was told there was no appointment set. Materials still not in per GM, Matt. Promised follow up by "late next week." Requested update by 07/15 @ 5:00 PM. No update since.
4/26 contract signed for windows and installation. Card charged 5/3. On or near 7/20, I contacted company to inquire about windows, after sales rep did not reply to text inquiry. Appointment was scheduled for 8/3 between 12-2 pm. On day of appointment, I contacted company to verify arrival time. Rep asked, "Did nobody call you yesterday'" I stated no and told her I needed my windows installed today. After being put on hold for several minutes several times, I spoke with the production assistant that stated due to overbooking my appointment was not assigned to a crew, no refund would be issued, and no compensation could be made towards their error until after my windows were installed and the balance was paid in full. However, I explained I took off work and closed my small business to have the windows installed on the scheduled day (costing me over $600 at least). I was told there was nothing they could do and the appointment could be scheduled for two days later.
I ordered windows from Window World for my mom's home in Wilsonville, Al. They supposedly came with a lifetime warranty. Days after installation, we realized the coating was on the wrong side of glass on 3 windows while cleaning them. WW was notified, the windows were reordered. One large plate glass window was replaced, but they left the other two at the shop. Nearly a year later, after numerous calls and cancelled appointments (sometimes same day) by them, they will not answer the phone or return messages. There are numerous occurrences such as they windows arrived, set appt, then they misplaced the windows and had to reorder them, then they arrived and set appt, cancelled same day, etc. One time when I called they said that it was put in as a " Warranty" order, so not a priority. But these were brand new windows that were defective, not a down the road issue. My mom is 84 years old, and may never see her new windows at this rate. Co worker also had issues with them.

I placed an order for window installation in October for almost $10K
I placed an order for window installation in October for almost $10K. I never heard back from WINDOW WORLD on the status of the order or an installation date. Finally called and was told the order was ready and installation would be Feb. Called to check again and I was told May on Memorial day. It was then pushed to June. I received a call yesterday saying they could do it the next day between 1-3pm. I get a call about 7am saying they were 30 mins away while I was at work. Called and they stated they would honor the 1-3pm window. I waited and never received a call or anything. Call again only to be told they were behind. With the amount of windows to be installed they will be there all night. I can't take off work due to window world's multiple errors. This had been a huge inconvenience. The crew arrives to perform the installation around 5pm only to discover that the windows were the incorrect size for installation. Now I will have to wait AGAIN for an undetermined time period.
On Jan 4, 2021, I ordered a front door and 3 windows from Window World of Central AL. The total cost was $4,000.00 of which they required a $2,000.00 deposit. I paid the $2,000.00 and was told the install would occur in April or May . In April, they put me off until May 14 and they cancelled that install and rescheduled me for June 14. They cancelled this install and scheduled me for June 22. I just got off the phone and they have cancelled this install.

Signed contract for purchase/install of 10 windows, 5 transoms & 4 door sets on 10/25. Was told approx. 14 week lead time to install. Multiple calls after 14 wk time frame to inquire update. Told "won't be much longer". Received call early May to schedule installation and was told they could complete the job in one day. Installers arrived May 13 (first date avail) to complete job. Was told on arrival 1 window had been broken and would require reorder (rush service) but rest would be completed. However, less than half the job completed that day and left exposed framing, poorly installed door (hard to open and seems unstable), torn screen, broken latch, dirty work area, etc. Was told a job foreman (WW employee) should have been there that day. There was none. I have accommodated their schedule to try to get this completed ASAP, accepted every first avail. appt offered. So far, they have cancelled on me within 24 hrs and resched mult times. Now into 37th wk, no progress.
Been 8 Months 9/24 was placed and still not installed

back and giving me excuses for the delay in the installation of my windows
back and giving me excuses for the delay in the installation of my windows. I am extremely disappointed with the lack of communication and customer service from Window World of Central Alabama. The fact that I had to continuously call and wait for long periods of time just to get an update on my order is unacceptable. The agent, Bruce, promised to have his manager contact me but I never received a call back. When I finally spoke to Christina, she initially offered a refund but then started making excuses and claimed that the materials were in. I made it clear that I no longer wanted their services and just wanted my $1100.00 refunded. However, she insisted that I would not be able to get my money back. This whole experience has been a complete mess and the representative's behavior was extremely unprofessional. I am thoroughly dissatisfied with the service provided by Window World of Central Alabama.
4/26 contract signed for windows and installation
I met with the salesperson on 9/15 to have them install a new patio door for my home
I met with the salesperson on 9/15 to have them install a new patio door for my home. The contract I signed states installation is typically with 6 to 8 weeks, but I was told me that they were behind because of Covid and it would be 10 to 12 weeks instead. Near the end of December I hadn't heard anything from them yet, so I called the company and was told that the door was still in production and it looked like it would be ready in January. A date was set for later that month, but then they called me the day before to reschedule for February, which ends up rescheduled for March, which gets rescheduled for April 8th. Each time is a different reason. April 8th was because of rain and told me they would come next week on April 15th, and would put a note on my file not to reschedule me again. April 8th ended up being a bright sunny day- why couldn't they still come out? Well it's April 15th and now rescheduled on May 4. It has been 30 weeks now. They don't hold up their side of deal.
On September 21 we contracted with window to put in three bay windows In the front of our home
On September 21 we contracted with window to put in three bay windows In the front of our home. One of our windows had slipped down, so we knew the window had to be fixed immediately to prevent any more damage to our home. We paid Window World $1,025.00, half of the total cost of the windows. We were promised that our windows would be made and installed in 4-8 weeks, definitely before Christmas. Window called and rescheduled the appointment to install our for 01/12/ 2021, then called and canceled that appointment. I called the main office and complained and the sent someone out to check the damage and talk to us. After calling to check as to when our windows would be installed week after week, our windows was installed on 03/23, six months later. We now have damage to our pine floors and seeking an adjustment of $500.00 from balance of $1,025.00. They are only offering us $250.00 and we don't believe that's enough. We were very upset knowing our home was being damaged daily
We have four large sliding glass patio doors from Window World in our condo
The response was always some version of "the part is at the manufacturer's and we will have to get back with you when it comes in", but here we are more than six months later with no service. Our last call on July 14, spoke with Kaylee, who stated that she would get in touch with the manager.
Paid WW $7,125.00 on July 15,2020, to install siding
Paid WW $7,125.00 on July 15,2020, to install siding. Called and called, someone from Morris Construction showed up Feb 2021 but didn't complete 1/3. Wrote them a check July for $7,125.00 salesman name Rhett. To install siding on wood portion of brick home. Called WW and ask for installation date repeatedly for months. Morris Construction showed up Feb 2021 and said WW hired them to install the siding. They worked off and on for approximately 6 days and left because WW would not send them necessary supplies and said they might not pay them. Our current siding was torn off and 1/4 of house completed. They put the wrong siding on a portion and removed because it was the wrong color. The part they installed is bulking on hot days. We have areas exposed to the rain and unfinished. I have called and called but Felicia, Melissa and others will not let me talk with anyone else. They always say they will get someone out here but I haven't gotten a single call or visit from anyone since the installer loaded up and left Feb 23, 2021. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, I ask for our money back months ago because they hadn't showed up and they refused.
Salesman said 6 to 8 weeks for installation
Salesman said 6 to 8 weeks for installation. Took 12 weeks and upon scheduling workers did not show up and did not call. Rescheduled twice. Purchased windows from window world, 6/29 and salesman said would be 6 to 8 weeks for installation. Not scheduled till 9/21. Installers did not show up at scheduled time, did not call. I called and was told earlier installation took longer. Rescheduled for 9/24. We had moved all furniture and blinds as instructed so windows were bare for several days. Weather delay and finally installed on 9/25. I called salesman about first of September and call not returned. Called manager next week, call not returned. Calls returned were from front office worker. No calls to ask how installation went or how product looked. The installation team was very good but concern that they worked from 1:30 till 9:45. They had done an earlier installation and I was concerned about how long front line workers have to work. I would have cancelled if I could have gotten down payment back. If company had called regularly to update and check in would have been much better. I had to do all the contact with company. Their TV advertising certainly doesn't match up with my experience. I also think the company should have offered us some compensation for all the difficulty. I would not refer anyone to Window World.
Was told that windows would be delivered & installed in 6-8 weeks
Was told that windows would be delivered & installed in 6-8 weeks. It's been 14 weeks & they still don't know when they will be shipped & installed. On 7/31, Steve Johnson of Window World gave us a quote to replace the windows in our residence. We paid 50% ($2750) of the total cost as a down payment. He told us that, including any manufacturing delays, our windows would be delivered and installed in 6-8 weeks. He put his name behind their customer service, installation, and everything he told me. Steve Johnson stopped answering his phone. Spoke to their office on 10/15 (11 weeks after purchasing) and they told me that I was still within the 6-8 week timeframe and they had no update on the shipping or installation date. I informed them that it was 11 weeks and they apologized, because they couldn't give me an update. Spoke to their office today 11/4 (14 weeks after purchase) and they told me that the windows may ship on 11/11 (15 weeks after purchase), but they can't guarantee anything. They said they can follow up with me on 11/18 (16 weeks after purchase) or 11/25 (17 weeks after purchase) to let me know if they did ship. They said that their 6-8 week installation estimate does not account for the possibility of manufacturer's delays, although Steve Johnson said that it did. Their sales associates know better and are blatantly lying to get sales.
Work has not been completed
Work has not been completed. Company is not communicating or returning calls. On July 30, we signed a contract for windows and doors to be replaced at our primary residence. We were told it could take 14 weeks (as opposed to the typical 6-8 weeks, due to Covid). The 14 weeks is noted in our contract. It has now been over 9 months and while they have installed some of the windows, none of the door and many other windows still need be installed. They called last week to let us know that the install was to be completed on 4/13. They called on 4/1221 to confirm the appointment. They said their crew would be here between 9 and 11, probably 10. We planned our day around their arrival (i.e., notified the alarm company to disengage the alarm, made arrangements for our dogs, moved everything that would need to be moved out of their way). Nobody came. Nobody called. Phone calls to their Atlanta facility went to voice mail with a promise that they would call back. They did not. The suggestion to communicate via their website on their chat option, resulted in nothing more than a return e-mail stating they have received our message and that someone would be in touch. They have not. A call to their corporate office in NC resulted in the person saying she would reach out to the franchise manager and they would be back in touch. They have not called. A call to the salesman resulted in a text stating he was with a customer and he would call back. He has not. I would not care (as we have not paid for any of the work they have completed) except, when they came back out on 3/13 to cover the unfinished windows on the front of the house they used a white trim which makes our house look awful. I would either like for them to finish the install SOON or to cancel the contract so we can make arrangements to get our windows and doors replaced as soon as possible
Melissa, WW promised discount, since it took 4 tries, 3 crews, 10 months to install 11 windows
Melissa, WW promised discount, since it took 4 tries, 3 crews, 10 months to install 11 windows. WW called today, pay full, or collection agency threat Contracted with George N. of WW in March for eleven windows. Months later sent installers with wrong size window only discovered after tearing out one window. Talked to Larry at WW world, taped up hole in wall, and left. Months later sent 2nd installers from Atlanta with wrong size windows. Called in WW rep from Birmingham. He measured again and said problem would get fixed. In the interim, Melissa, WW rep handling our account promised me and my wife a substantial discount, since we had already had to move furniture for access on three different occasions. Months later sent 3rd installers (Mr. Lee and son) with one correctly sized window. They filled hole with new window. Some weeks later, in late January, or early February, Mr. L.'s son came back and installed remaining 10 windows. He finished the job, gave me the "Certificate of Completion", and told me that he was to collect the full balance of $xxxx I refused to pay, told him that Melissa should have sent a discounted invoice, and told him to relay that message to Melissa. He said he would deliver the message to her and departed. Today, March 31, a different female rep of WW called and said I would receive no discount. I told her that WW had promised the discount. She said that Melissa had no authority to promise such a discount. I told her that Melissa, an agent of WW had duly promised such, and that I would withhold payment until such time that the discount was received. She threatened to turn my account over to a collection agency. I asked her again to send me a corrected invoice. She said the original contract was the only invoice I was entitled to. She further stated that I could receive a discount on future products from WW. I told her that one year dealing with WW was enough to last a lifetime. I again asked for the corrected invoice as promised. She said that unless I relented, she would turn the account over to a collection agency. I told her to do what she had to do and that my lawyer would answer any queries from a collection agency. The ball is in WW's court. Why does big business feel so free to make promises, break them, and let us ol' folks suffer the consequences. I hope the ComplaintsBoard.com can help me get the justice I deserve.
Window World has failed to complete an installation, leaving six front windows improperly protected from the weather and four windows
Window World has failed to complete an installation, leaving six front windows improperly protected from the weather and four windows uninstalled. Window World of Central Alabama has failed to complete a window installation, leaving six front windows improperly protected from the weather and four windows uninstalled. Specifically, on February 10th, six windows were installed without trim caps and boards to protect the underlying window structure from water damage. Below is a summary of the facts and my efforts to encourage Window World of Central Alabama to meet their contractual obligations and complete the installation. As of this evening (February 24), Window World is unable to provide a date in which they can complete the installation . Given the incomplete installation of six front windows, timely completion is of the essence to reasonably secure my home from water damage. After an approximately 3-month delay, Window World subcontractors ("Ronald", his son, and a third worker, subcontractors hereafter) arrived at my house on February 10th, around 3:00 PM CT. During the February 10th visit: Subcontractors cut out the six existing front windows of the home and partially "installed" six new windows. Ronald indicated that four of the six newly installed windows would need to be replaced, as one set (of two windows) was damaged upon installation, and another set included a window of an incorrect measurement. Trim caps and boards were not installed, leaving the underlying wooden structure of all six windows exposed to the elements with the potential for water damage and the onset of rotting wood. Subcontractors departed when it became too dark to work and indicated that they would call me in the morning to let me know if they would arrive. On February 11th, subcontractors did not call nor did they arrive to finish the job. I presume they did not arrive because it rained in the morning. On February 12th, I called and texted the subcontractors using the same phone number they used to confirm my appointment (334-xxx-xxxx) and left a voice message requesting an update on when they would complete the installation. They returned my call and indicated that they would arrive that day after completing another job. On February 12th, they arrived too late to make any progress the job. They did, however, fix a shutter that had been dislocated during the initial installation. They indicated they would follow-up with me the next week upon returning from weekend travel. They did not follow-up with me. I had no further communications from subcontractors or Window World until Feb. 22nd. On the morning of Monday, Feb 22nd, I called the subcontractors for an update. They indicated that they had travelled out of state and they would call their project manager "Josh" the next morning. I then called Window World of Central Alabama to request an update and estimated date to complete the installation. They were unable to provide a date but said that they would call back after speaking with Josh. They did not call back. On Wednesday, February 24th, I called Window World of Central Alabama to request an update and estimated date to complete the installation. They were unable to provide a date but said that they would call back. They did not call back. On Thursday, February 25th, I called Window World of Central Alabama to request an update and estimated date to complete the installation. The spokeswoman indicated that she could not locate the necessary paperwork to schedule an appointment asked if they had capped the windows--I said they had not and she sounded surprised and that she expected to be able to call me back later that day. She did not call back. As Window World has been unable to complete the installation, nor reasonably secure my windows from moisture damage during the installation process, nor provide any date of project completion, I have contacted my homeowners insurance to file a property damage claim. I have taken photos and videos of unfinished windows.
