This business is not run well and has many problems with orders, supplies, installation, and workmanship!
This business is not run well and has many problems with orders, supplies, installation, and workmanship! I ordered my windows and patio door in January . The windows were installed in April . They asked for more money for the door, which was installed without a lock in May . The lock was finally installed in June . The inserts for the door blinds were defective and had to be reinstalled in November . I informed the company about poorly reinstalled shutters on the outside of the windows in April , and they are currently looking into it. The windows were finally cleaned in April as stated in the contract. A worker discovered a defective window that needed to be replaced, and he said he would report it to the office. So now, after 1 year and 4 months, I am still waiting for this job to be completed! Window World has good windows, but they don't have good people to do the job right!
My mother, a 73-year-old widow of a 100% disabled veteran, bought a window for her living room from Window World of Fort Myers in April
My mother, a 73-year-old widow of a 100% disabled veteran, bought a window for her living room from Window World of Fort Myers in April . After a few months, the sheet rock around the window started getting soft, so she asked them to inspect it. The inspector blamed the roof for the damage instead of the window, so my mother decided to have the roof replaced. The roofer happily replaced the roof, hoping it would solve the problem.
However, even after the roof replacement, my mother noticed that the issue persisted. She called Window World again to inspect, and once again, they blamed the roof. Concerned about potential mold, my brother and I removed the sheet rock from the wall, as it had been soft for over six months.
Upon removing the sheet rock, we discovered that water was indeed getting in from the window whenever it rained. We called Window World once more to inspect. The first inspector still insisted it wasn't the window, but then the owner came to inspect and determined that the window frame was cracked. This was around June . They ordered a new window and finally installed it on September 16. Unfortunately, during the installation, they broke her marble window sill. They took it with them, promising to order a new one and replace it.
When I had the chance to see the new window, I noticed that they hadn't replaced the rotted wooden border around it, which had been damaged by the water over the past year. My other brother, who was washing the house, sprayed some water, and we saw that water was still coming in. Window World returned and said the new frame was also faulty, and they would get another one. They also promised to replace the rotted wood this time.
In December , Window World finally installed my mother's third window in her living room and replaced the wood border during the installation. Thankfully, there was no more leaking from the window. However, when we asked about replacing the sheet rock around the window, they claimed it was not their responsibility. As for the marble window sill, they initially denied its existence, then said they would order it, denied it again, and finally said they would order it once more. We managed to reach them shortly after the new year, and they said it would be scheduled for installation in about two weeks. Since then, we have had no contact. My mother and I have called several times, and when they do answer (which is rare, especially if we use an unrecognized phone), they promise to handle it personally and call back before the end of the week.
So, after almost two years since the initial window installation, my mother has had her roof replaced, mold growing behind her wall, no sheet rock on her walls for almost a year, her window installed two more times, and she still can't get her window sill back from Window World. What a deal! This business is a joke. They refuse to take responsibility for their shoddy workmanship, fail to follow up with customers, don't fulfill their promises to call back, and take months to fix anything if they even admit fault.
Save yourself the trouble and find a different company to install your windows. The owner also owns the Window World in Sarasota, so they often claim he is there and that all decisions must go through him, causing further delays. Be cautious as a buyer!

I hired Window World in August to change my windows, screens, and lanai sliders and screens
I hired Window World in August to change my windows, screens, and lanai sliders and screens. They finished everything except for the lanai screens. I contacted them on May 14th, and they said the screens were ordered and would arrive in 4-6 weeks. Today, when I called, they said they would get back to me. This has been happening for months, and I simply want them to finish the job. I have already paid them in full.
I ordered windows from Window World on April 7, 2022 and they were installed on Monday, October 31, 2022
I ordered windows from Window World on April 7, 2022 and they were installed on Monday, October 31, 2022. An inspector from *** County came on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 to do the inspection. *** at Window World said a Window World inspector would come to clean and inspect the windows. They would also put plugs to cover the screws. I've called many times, even last week, and they promised to send someone within 72 hours. That was over a week ago. I have 3 windows with problems that need to be fixed. I want someone from upper management, not *** who is no help, to contact me for a solution. If they can't or won't come within 72 hours, I want a refund for the faulty windows. Bad customer service!
I bought 4 new windows from Window World of Fort Myers and it took them a long time to deliver them, but we were expecting that
I bought 4 new windows from Window World of Fort Myers and it took them a long time to deliver them, but we were expecting that. Finally, the installers came and put in the new windows. They told me not to remove the stickers until the inspector came. When the inspector finally came, I took off the stickers and started cleaning the windows. Unfortunately, there was glue and other stuff stuck to the windows, and one of them seemed to have a problem with the glass. I called the salesman to let him know about it. He told me that there was another step where they would send a quality control person, but nobody had informed me about this before. It took several weeks for the quality control person to show up. I emailed the company multiple times asking when they would come, but I didn't get a reply until I threatened them. Then they said it would be a few days. The guy finally showed up and cleaned off the glue and other stuff from the windows. He also noticed that the screens on the back window needed to be replaced because they were the wrong size and fell out easily. He wrote everything down and said he would come back to replace the one window and the screens, but it's been months and I haven't heard anything from them.

Window World took my money to replace the windows in February
Window World took my money to replace the windows in February . They finally installed some of the windows in August , which was 4 weeks later than they originally said. Unfortunately, they couldn't install two windows because they measured them wrong. I've tried reaching out to them through letters and phone calls to find out when they will install the remaining windows, but they haven't responded. They gave me two different dates for installation, but they missed both of them. The first was last week in December, and the second was the last week in November. Now they won't even give me a new date for installation. I paid for the windows in full back in August , but they still haven't delivered on their promise after a year. It seems like they have abandoned this project for several reasons. First, the permit for the installation has expired, and Window World didn't make any effort to extend it. Second, according to Florida code, the contractor has gone more than 90 days without doing any work. On top of that, they haven't responded to my letters or inquiries with a definite installation date. Lastly, they refuse to refund the money for the windows they didn't install or pay any interest on the money they took.
We signed up for 10 windows and 1 sliding glass door to be put in on 4/30 for $20,206
We signed up for 10 windows and 1 sliding glass door to be put in on 4/30 for $20,206. We paid a deposit of $10,103 for the stuff and installation. The first delivery date was supposed to be on 9/20. They've given us 7 more delivery dates after that, but none of them worked out. About 3 months ago, they said they had everything except for 1 window. We didn't want to install the available windows because they wanted us to pay $9,000of the contract balance, and we thought that was too much for a partial installation. So we decided to wait. In February, when they still didn't have the missing window, we asked them to install just 5 windows and the sliding glass door. We agreed that we would finish the rest of the project when the missing window arrived. They said we had to pay $5,500for that. So basically, we would get 50% of the stuff but have to pay 75% of the contract value. We think that's unreasonable, especially since we've been waiting for 6.5 months and counting. We tried contacting the company above the franchise level, but they gave us the same response. They said they're sorry and it's out of their control. We understand that they're having trouble getting the final window because of supply chain issues. But they could still do a partial installation at a lower cost, and we would still be fully responsible for paying the whole contract amount when everything is available. We think that's a fair solution while we wait for the whole project to be finished. Just so you know, the company has an unlimited amount of time to fulfill the contract because of the "unable to obtain goods" clause. *I asked twice for the 2 quotes in writing (since one was given verbally) for a partial installation, but the company hasn't responded to those requests.
Window World of Ft Myers marketed and sold me ”Hurricane Proof Windows" with a guarantee. The windows failed a year after install, during hurricane Ian. Window World refused to honor their guarantee, and told me that a hurricane is an "act of god" so not covered under their free replacement guarantee for their marketed "hurricane-proof" windows.
