I have purchased via online the website that Wix has hosted. It is a payment done on a month to month basis. i have the receit proving my first purchase on the 29th of september 2009. My credit card summary shows deduction of money made by wix.com starting from the 25th of september. Two or as many as three times deducted at the same day, and a couple of times at other dates in the same week! I have complained but received no answer!

My phone number is 604.780.3045 and my email is [protected]@yahoo.com I am located in Canada.

I have had to call my credit card company and have the charges reversed when I moved away from Wix.com. They are the worst company I ever dealt with on the internet. Wix.com is a fraud, stay away.

exactly true, unfortunately i purchased one of their monthly premium package and deducted 4 times for same purchase.. more is.. They never showed my premium membership on my account,
they told me you dont have any membership even i send them all the invoices i made through my bank account...

That is just B[censored]...

they bothered me alot and and they even dont care any suffering of mine

So, am I safe to use their free site templates? will they work? I did think of upgrading so the I could sell my artwork, but now I won't. I did think it was odd that they listed the ecommerce templates as free, and then on the "shop page" you discover you need to pay. I've been working on this for months! Suggestions about a better host, please?

i feel bad for you all. someone needs to take a class action suit against that company. they are the absolute WORST company i ever seen in my life. the way they treat their customers is a disgrace. they have a representive on the message boards name Mario who responds so disrespectfully to customers. i believe the company is ran by unprofessional juveniles. good luck to you all to are owed money

Me!> Artist ! Fine Art! I have & created my site using the free version I found it clean professional & easy to use. It is work but, easy! My art looks beautiful using WiX and all is free. I enjoy seeing the tiny WIX Tab to the right of my screen as the art scrolls this indicates a (mine) well thought out professional host choice. My friends who saw indicated first off, the art was so easy to see & I love how clean the whole of all is! Sorry, others that don't get it!

What all of you have said is so true and these are the people that are bothered to complain. What about those that aren't? The customer service is the worst, for a company this established they take years to get back to you, con you with coupons and vouchers that say they have worked, then you are charged the full amount on your card. I mean what the f is going on? The staff are rude even when you are extremely nice about something horrible that THEY have done to you and your bank account. Do Weebly, their customer service is excellent!

I have been testing wix.com templates and they are not the best. However reading these comments regarding money being taken incorrectly I am going to stay well clear.

I don't know if it helps anyone but there is a provider of flash websites that have been around for about 8 years I think. http://www.moonfruit.com
Again, same problem with all flash websites is the SEO, and this is no different. You have to work at it to get it into the searches, but if you want a flash website and useful customer service then this may be a good alternative.
Please make your own conclusions though as I am not responsible if you don't like it, just trying to help.

I can't get these [censor]s to release my domain that I payed for somewhere else, not even from them. Wix is horrible. Does anybody know if there is a customer service number? Has anyone had this problem with parking your domain with them and then trying to change it when they want you to upgrade? Need some help.

You guys are so ridiculous... and sounds like none of you have any idea about web design, web hosting, SEO or anything related to it. You get what you paying for.
WIX.com provides excellent service for the money paid. If you know any other website that gives as much as Wix.com for the same amount of money, please let me know. I have 3 websites with WIX.com and I spent as little as few hours on each to set them up on WIX.
Yes - websites are flash-based; Yes - customer support could be better, but If you want to pop-up on Google's first page - try to spend $200, 000 + for SEO, may be these money will place you in top 10 pages, or go and spend $2, 000 - $10, 000 for professionally designed non-flash website or go to college and take some web-design classes and get a clue

wix is the worse website scammer and not legit one bit. Poor customer service and I bet the people that support wix are probaly wix people themselves . As everyone already know that the people who run wix are [censor]en rude [censor] immature people! They totally rip me off 200$. They are a piece of [censor] not worth the money one bit. Hi, I have made a great looking and working wix website. Very happy with results. I purchased my own domain name through a different company and then went to publish and purchase my site. When in the payment area of wix accounts to purchase my site, I typed in all of my card details, where I live, etc and no problems. Clicked purchase. All good, but then, it did not recognise the address for some strange reason. However, I tried again, each time it said transaction failed. BUT, then, i got a call from the credit card company. And found out that the attempted transactions, actually went through. And as I attempted to purchase roughly 10 times, i have been charge 10 times, even though on the wix site said that the transaction was denied! this is a shocking situation. I havent even processed my site, yet I seem to have paid for 10 sites now. There is a huge problem with this on their site...please be very careful with your details on the purchasing site. Has anyone else experienced this...or am i the only one who has fallen into this pit!

Yes... I like the product... but poor customer service/billing will put you out of business my friend!

They also have a twitter/facebook account... post your questions... there.. or to some of their friends... they'll listen then.. I bet! ;-)

I too have had the same problem with billing. I am in the middle of being charged another amount, when they already received payment. I have some knowledge being a merchant myself... so I stated to them the steps I was going to take, if they did not correct this problem. BELIEVE ME... no company wants to have their merchant account on restriction or monies held because of excessive complaints, refunds or chargebacks. If fraud or exccesive attempts are being made on your credit card, that is considered high risk merchant... and you can file a claim with your credit card company as fraud and Wix.com will have a review by the High Risk credit card company (Hig Risk: Any behavior that is considered a higher risk than normal to a customers credit card/out of the norm.)

TIP: I have now purchased prepaid cards, just to protect myself against this very thing. I just put enough on the card each month, so it does not cause issue with my personal credit card and stops excessive abuse... it seems that is what you have to do today. I am not sure why carelessness seems to be more rampant nowadays.

I am also notifying their corporate offices... so, I bet someone will hear me... I do not have time play games with these people... I have a business to run.

Their tools are nice, and you are able to make a pretty decent looking site, however they have major loading issues. Some times your media loads, other times it does not. It's very random. Their customer support is so bad that it's boarder line offensive. I signed up for their monthly $9.90 premium deal. So far I have not yet been charged. After reading all these awful reviews on this site and others, I am now very careful to not be over charged by them. I have the receipt as proof of payment amount. So, if they try to pull any BS on me they have another thing coming. We'll see.

I'm have already taken action against WIX. They been taking payment from my card on daily basis and once I found out I was charged $800.00.

They claimed it was a technical issue but it took them 3 month to refund the money back to me.

Overall Wix creates nice website but I found that WIX added internal inks in source code that pointed to www.wix.com website. So I lost my page rank but wix gained page rank :(

I'm extremely upset!

I have been working many hours and stressing cause I'm a little newer at this than most and I am not to happy with wix.com either.It took forecer to tweek the way I wanted. I can't even find my page unless I go to their site . Ikeep getting get that message thing says "you have 24 days left ! Should I bail ? ?

You can go to your domain host account and add that you want your www.com you purchased to be forwarded there (to your free wix address) for free, your customers won't be able to use a shopping cart as you are not paying for it but you can add prices for them to see and direct them to e-mail what they wish to purchase and (or make a general invoice sheet for them to fill out, that youcan email to them and send back to you) then you can send them a total and they can pay you via paypal, not the easiest but not hard to do either, and you get it done for free. Or youcan you Yolasite.com or Weebly they are easy to use, not as interactive and full of options like wix but they work very well for the money you pay. Network solutions and yahoo want a fortune per month and or transaction to provide crappy templates that are hard to navigate. my advice is if this is all you can afford for now use it until you can afford the quality and customer service you wish to have. They shouldn't be screwing people over but keep in mind the saying if it's too good to be true it probably is. Good Luck And my experience with the free service is it works wonderfully I love it, but as for the services you pay for I haven't ever purchased them.

That's what happens with off the shelf sites. Individuals have different requirements without customizations customers ain't going to be happy. It's easy to sell promises but when the support is needed is not there.

First of all don't expect to sell with exclusive flash sites. Search engines won't find useful content easily. Then you need to market the site. Don't expect a ready site you buy automatically to do that. Companies will say various things to score sales as you know, use common sense and balance your budget.

Get the Domain first, then Hosting then decide on the application according with your requirements. There are lots of open source web applications which can conform to the base of your business. Once you decide which one has potential try it. Don't get impressed with some layout/flashy pictures. Site content is very important you need to have a mechanism to manage your site, change content, edit products. It requires effort and knowledge.

I'm going through the same problem right now. While being promised a refund, my account was actually billed again. After complaining about the extra charge, I was told that refunds aren't something they do. So, I was lied to, and robbed. I'm furious, and I hope we can get something done. They should NOT be in business.
I loved the service, until I needed to cancel.
This is such a headache, and I hope people reading this will STAY AWAY FROM WIX! They will take your money!

One of my three websites I built through WIX and even though so far I'm pleased with the service I was surprised to find that they took money off of my card days before it was actually due.
Luckily I visited this site before upgrading and saw what others were going through, as a precaution I decided to buy one of those pre-paid GREENDOT cards and have the cash there from the 1st until when the 7th my ACTUAL payment due date.
With a prepaid card I can put the money that is due to WIX and NOTHING more on the card, they can't take what they can't get. I suggest that anyone willing to work with a WIX site do the same and save yourself the hassle and frustration of having money taken prematurely.

WIX IS A TOTAL SHAM - SCAM! I scream these words because I bought it once, and cancelled and they repeatedly charged me $99 each year. I closed my credit card because of these scammers. They even tried to dispute my dispute. STAY CLEAR FROM WIX!

WOW. I have never been so deceived by a company as this online. Do not fall for the slick site. Like others, I purchased the Premium membership only to be completely dissatisfied at the page load times. Canceled and now (months later) I am seeing more charges out of nowhere for this site. I have called, written and complained and they never said a word. Conveniently they have no billing support phone. Had to CXL my card and have them reverse charges.

Today 11/22/2015, I received a text from my chase cc fraud alert, stating a 78.55$ sub charge from WIX.COM.

Never heard of the company, never use my CC card online only for a few amazon buys.

Charge declined, new card issued.

WIX.COM is a den of thieves. FBI should investigate.

I have a charge on my account From Wix.com, But I have never approached them for anything ever.
I strongly think they hacked through a Wix.com built site and pulled info from there and charged my account.
The thing is I never use this account for anything but Government Deposits.
So there is no other withdrawls from that particular account.(transfer Only) Withing the bank System.
Fraud Department at TD Canada Trust is investigating.
Its not a Credit Card but a bank account.
This would mean that even shopping on a Wix web page is dangerous.
They could infact steal your info from and of there Sites.
Now I have to get the account number and my debit card change to ensure they don't take my money from my account again.
BEWARE PROTECT YOURSELF.

but i cannot use because the google adsense is not supporting the wix adsense app

Paid 168.00 and cant get on the website, cant contact anyone, cant complete the website, there's no info on who to turn to. I'm not able to access any of their webpages including contact. Surely this is illegal. I guess I need to contact an attorney.

hi all USA citizen, WIX website purposely store customer credit card and auto billing without customer permission.
1) The website, does not allow customer to remove the credit card information.
2) WIX website is purposely design to ensure customer have difficulty to cancel the subscription.
This 2 have violation of consumer right

pls raise court case and teach WIX a lesson to pay fine
